A few more months had gone by.

Both of them living their miserable lives.
Jimin had been discharged from the hospital and finally he was back at his old apartment.
It was December 29
Which meant Taehyung's birthday would be the next day.

Jimin would always surprise Taehyung with something on his birthday even when they were just friends, he wouldn't miss a chance to surprise Taehyung. But more than 3 years had passed since those old times.

But for some reason this time Jimin couldn't control himself. He just couldn't be silent this time. He wanted to do something, maybe just at least say something.

Jimin took his phone in his hand.
It was 11:58 pm December 29.
He quickly went to Messages typing in a text.

"Happy Birthday, Tae."
Sent 12:00 am

Taehyung was just sifting through his phone gallery looking at his and Jimin's pictures they took when they were together.
They looked so happy together.
He couldn't help but smile.
He kept swiping.

Just a few more swipes and his phone chimed making Taehyung basically jump, his phone almost flew out of his hand but he was successful to catch it. He was way too entranced by the old memories that this small sound of the notification startled him.
He was curious, curious to see who it could be texting him this late.

A way too familiar set of numbers appeared.
The message said,

"Happy Birthday, Tae."

It was from Jimin...

This was the last thing he expected, a 'Happy Birthday' text from Jimin.
And the nickname he hadn't seen or heard for so long was finally there, and it made his heart flutter.
A drop of tear had splashed on the phone screen. Taehyung didn't even notice he started to cry. But that didn't stop him from replying. Without wasting anymore time, he typed in his reply.

"Thanks, Jiminie :)"
