Trials
I sat in my cabin, all alone. I'm all alone now, no one cares. Not even my parents! Ha, I've heard that a mother never abandons her child, yeah right! My mom despises me now. I've got no friends, no girlfriend, no mother, no father, no mentor, no nothing. Yeah, I hate sob stories too, they seem selfish when people have it worse. I know people have it worse than me, so I try not to be sad, but I can't help it.
The conch horn sounded and I walked out of my cabin, my hands slipping into my hoodie pocket. I sat down at my table, although I don't eat. I was given a simple, plain, small waffle cause I wasn't cared for enough for me to get a lot of food, I sacrifice it all to the gods anyways. I stood up and put my waffle into the fire. Someone, please, if you care enough, please give me something to fill the whole in my life. I prayed before leaving. I had begun my walk towards my cabin when everyone was flashed to Olympus.
"Perseus Jackson, you have been accused of aiding Gaea and Kronos in the wars, how do you plead?" Zeus thundered.
"Innocent. I understand you are no Athena, but I thought you would have known my fatal flaw and realize I can't betray you, I would die." I rolled my eyes. Zeus glared at me so hard I thought that he was superman using eye lasers on me.
"You were never loyal to us!" Zeus screamed. I looked at all the gods, the only ones that's seemed to be on my side was Athena, Artemis, Ares, and Aphrodite. They all start with A's haha. I'm going insane now, great.
"Does it make sense that at the end of my summer, the person I work with would try and kill me with poison? Or when Luke ended up on our side. I saved Olympus, maybe you just aren't grateful enough to realize it." I shrugged. I sat on the floor criss cross.
"You will die along with that Castellan boy!" Zeus growled.
"You do not, I repeat not disrespect his name, he died saving us, which is more than you even consider, you choose your own throne over your siblings, your wife, and your kids. What do you want me to do to prove that I never betrayed you?" I growled, standing back up cause who look intimidating sitting down?
"You will go through trials, what past heroes or villains had to do before they died, these challenges will probably kill you, so I hope you have fun dying cause I know I will enjoy watching it." Zeus said. I walked up right to his throne, he shrunk down to human size, which is the same height as me.
"If I die, your throne goes down with me, I've been protecting that thing with my life although I never really aimed to save it. If I complete these challenges, you step down from position of king, Hera will either still be queen or step down as well. If Hera steps down I want either Artemis or Athena to be queen, and for king, I want Apollo or Hephaestus. They all have fair judgement, unlike the rest of you. I will also be innocent. And if I die, I will be known a traitor and I can be sent down to the fields of punishment and you can be the one to select what tortures I get. Do we have ourselves a deal?" I asked, holding out my hand. He shook my hand and I backed away. I was then flashed away. When I got a look at my surrounding I was shocked, and scared to be honest.
Prometheus, that's the first thing I thought of. I was tied on a cliff, where the sea below me crashed against the bottom of the cliff, raging and as if fighting with the rock. I gulped, I hate heights, and at this height, Zeus can just kill me, it's all fair play though, right?
From what I remember from the story, the chains were unbreakable, of course made by Hephaestus. I struggled to remember the tale, something about Prometheus fooling Zeus cause the mortals didn't want to sacrifice all their food, so Zeus was tricked, then um, Zeus room fire away from them. Then Prometheus when behind Zeus's back and used sun rays to create a fire so Prometheus was forced to hang off a cliff and get his liver taken out of him. I gulped, I had to get out of here and fast.
My mind was working on overdrive, and then an idea came to mind, yes, it's stupid, but it might be so stupid it works. I hope. I got my feet into position, crossing my fingers. I yanked my feet out. I heard a sickening crack and I screamed in pain, my legs were out of their chains. Tears streamed down my face as I tried to breathe calmly. I prepared to pull my right hand out of it. I took a deep breath, then yanks. Yeah, that hurt, now a broken hand and two broken foot, yay. I threw half my body on the flat ground, one more. I pulled, successfully getting out of it. Apparently it was already sunset, and the eagle was already flying to peck out my liver. I smiled gratefully, although tears still ran down my face. I was there for another hour, at least. My tears were all gone but I was still sore. I was flashed to Olympus. They seemed impressed.
"I said I could do it." I sighed with a smirk. Apollo healed my wounds quickly.
"Thank you," he said mysteriously. I shrugged it off. My main goal is to get Zeus to step down from being king. Someone needs to take his place, he is not fit to rule.
I sat up, rubbing my ankles and wrists.
"Why was I laying there for another hour until I was flashed? Like, maybe heal my broken bone before, well I don't know, the skin gets infected?" I said rolling my eyes. Oh I might also want to add, I apparently ripped skin, and it was so deep I had my bones popping out. Good to know I'm alive still. I don't think they want this entertainment to end. I think they might be watching Hephaestus tv channel thing.
