Siege of the north: Part 1

Percy sighed as he read over the scroll once more. The others looked at him, concern in their eyes. They didn't know what it said, but Percy obviously didn't like what it said.

"We are going to the Northern Water Tribe to assist Admiral Zhao in capturing the Avatar, and removing the Water Tribes from the equation." Percy threw the scroll onto the table as Jason spoke up.

"And what's the catch?" He asked as he picked up the scroll.

"I am not going with you." Percy said as he held up a second scroll. "I have been recalled to the Fire Nation for a council with the Fire Lord. I don't know how long I will be, but you are heading to Zhao's fleet and act as a spearhead to break the wall down."

"When are you leaving?" Piper asked.

Percy smirked as he turned into mist. Percy opened his eyes to find himself in his room at the palace. It wasn't much. A closet, bed and stand for his weapons and armor. He didn't need anything else.

Percy watched his door open, and his double walked in. They both smirked and started laughing.

Meanwhile back at the Olympia, Jason and Piper were watching as the fire nation fleet drew closer. The Fire nation flag was hoisted up high, Jason had Leo land her in the water to hide the fact that the ship could fly.

"Think he's compensating for something?" Piper asked, making Jason laugh. Zhao's flagship pulled up alongside them, and Jason flew himself and Piper up to the tower, where Tea-God Iroh and Asshat Zhao were waiting.

"What business do you have this far out at sea?" Zhao asked as he watched the two masked figures who just landed on his ship. He watched as the one with the fox like mask pulled a scroll from his robes, catching is as it was tossed to him. He opened the scroll and read the contents out loud.

"Admiral Zhao, you are to harbor the Hunting Moon until their mission is complete. Treat them like you would treat any superior, and give them full details of your plans to attack the water savages. General Jackson will not be joining you, but you must report to him at the end of each day, giving him a report.

Fire Lord Ozai"

Zhao looked at Piper and Jason, before bowing. Welcome, Members of the Hunting Moon." They ignored him as they walked over to Iroh, and bowed to him.

"Percy sent his welcome, General Iroh." they spoke at the same time. "We did not expect you to be here."

"It's fine. How has he been?" Iroh asked as he bowed back.

"Let's talk over a nice cup of jasmine tea." The other one said as Iro smiled and led them away.

Upon reaching Iroh's room, he locked the door, as Piper and Jason took off their masks. "Percy is doing much better than when he was by the Fire Lord, however, he was recalled a few days before we got here."

"I am sorry that I asked you to do this." Iroh said as he boiled some water for tea.

At the palace, Azula and Percy walked down the hall towards the Fire Lord's throne.

"So. you're back." Azula stated as she guided Percy to the garden, where the statue of Annabeth still stands. Without warning, azula let out a burst of fire, that percy dodged, making it miss narrowly, singing his hood, which was still over his face. Percy had not bothered to hide his new armor. Azula would find out eventually. She always did. When he was hurt fighting the first assassin, she found out. And ordered him to take time to heal himself. When he snuck out and left a body double to get her a birthday present, she knew the next morning. She always got so mad afterwards. Just like Annabeth. Percy immediately scolded himself for thinking like that, as he dodged the next blast of fire. "Father sent you after the Avatar. Didn't he."

Not a question. A statement. Percy gave a sly smile as he bowed. "Yes Princess Azula. He instructed me to assemble a team to hunt down the Avatar." Percy threw a spear of ice, which Azula's fire promptly melted before it touched her.

"Then where is he?" Azula drew the minotaur horn and charged at Percy, who drew Savior in turn and met her charge face on. "Surly you haven't failed."

"I was recalled by Fire Lord Ozai before I could finish my mission. My team is following out orders to continue hunting the Avatar as we speak. Today is Zhao's first attack on the water tribe, so reports from Jason and Piper should come in soon. And before you ask, they are married." Percy answered as he blocked Azula's swing. Azula jumped over percy, and touched the dagger to the back of his neck.

"Dead." Percy said. An ice spike was protruding from Percy's back, touching Azula's heart. "You are getting much better at armed combat Milady. I doubt even the most elite soldiers of any kingdom could compare to you now."

"And yet I have never won against you." Azula said, frustration clear in her voice. "Not once."

Percy sighed as he sheathed his sword. "Because fighting is not your strongest aspect. But it is not your weakest either. There is a gap between us, yes. However, that gap is not skill or talent, but experience. I have fought for my entire life against things both human and not, and I have learned what I am bad at, and what I am good at."

Azula put the dagger back in her robe as she thought over her bodyguard's words. She turned away and started walking to the throne room, before she stopped and looked back at percy. "Those are not the words of a teenager. How old are you exactly." Another statement. She was not asking, she was demanding an answer.

Percy looked to the blazing sun. "Much older than you would expect." It was true. Before he died on Earth, he was 30 years old. If he added his total years together, he would be 48 now. And his soul felt it. Knowledge beyond what any 18 year old should know.

"I am going to guess around 50 years old." Azula said as she stared at Percy. He looked tired. "I can see that it is a story you do not wish to share. But one day I will make you tell it."

Percy sighed as he walked behind Azula. "Zhao's attack shall start soon. I must go answer the Fire lord's summons. I don't trust Zhao to carry out the mission successfully."

At the north pole, a figure watched as the presumed dead prince lowered his kayak into the frigid water below, and followed close behind as golden eyes shone through the black mask on their face.

Jason and Piper watched as Hazel followed Zuko. Iroh told them he was alive, so they carried out their second task, securing Prince Zuko's safety. Four hours later, they watched the sun rise, as Zhao carried out the first attack of the day. The Olympia Floating right next to Zhao's flagship as the Fire Nation breached the walls of the Northern Water Tribe
