Chapter 9

Hazel's POV

"What do you mean you don't know where he is?!?!?" I yelled at Chiron, through the IM

Chiron just stared at me for a second, before I realised what I had done

"Sorry Chiron." I said softly, "It's just, Percy has almost always been there for me and Frank when we needed him. He helped us gain recognition in camp, and helped us truly find each other.... He's..... He's like our older brother, in a sense." I continued, while looking towards Frank and seeing him nod in agreement.

"It is quite alright, child." Chiron said soothingly. "And I meant what I said, Percy left camp halfblood many weeks ago, and said he was heading for camp Jupiter."

"Well, we haven't seen him." I said, before a terrifying reality set upon me. "Do you think he was hurt?!?"

"No no no. Nothing of the sort, him and Thalia can more than handle themselves, I am just worried of what is taking them so long." Chiron responded, seeming to lose himself in thought.

"Oh, ok." I said slowly, before realising something he had said, "Wait... Thalia is with him?!?" I exclaimed. "Isn't she a hunter?"

"Oh. Didn't you hear?" Chiron asked, "Thalia left the hunt back during the award ceremony, all those months ago."

"What?!?" I exclaimed, "Why would she do that?"

"Well, I don't know for sure." Chiron started, "but I believe it has to do with Percy."

"Wait, wait wait." I said, holding my hands up in a stop motion, "Are you implying what I think you are implying." I asked, with a small smirk on my face.

"Indeed I am." Chiron said simply, before the sound of shouting could be heard from his end.

I couldn't help but smirk even more, gaining the perfect blackmail for my cousin/brother, and my other cousin. And as I turned towards Frank, I saw that he was thinking the same thing.

"I best be heading out to stop whatever problem Clarisse has started.... Again" Chiron said, before rising from his wheelchair.

"Why do you think it is Clarisse?" I asked, having only talked to the girl a small number of times. Chiron just gave me the 'are you being serious?' look, before he said a quick goodbye and swiped his hand through the message.

"Well then." Frank said, "I wonder what my sister has done this time."

"Yes, maybe she is beating up another new camper." I mused, before our small conversation was cut off by the sound of a metric crap ton of water smashing down, and thunder booming, somewhere in the direction of the Caldecott tunnels.

"Lets go check that out." Frank said, before grabbing me by the hand and pulling me out of the praetor building 

"What animal do you think for today?" I asked

"I was thinking of a giant eagle. "Frank said simply, causing me to smile.

Once Frank had finished shifting into a form similar to that of our giant eagles, I climbed on his back, and we were off.

"Over there!" I called, pointing towards the little tiber. "I see someone!" I continued, mentally correcting myself to seeing three people, but that was probably unnecessary to say out loud.

Frank shifted his body slightly, before going into a dive towards the banks of the river, before he let me off his back and shifted back.

"Come on!" I yelled, grabbing Franks hand and running towards the three individuals.

As we got closer to the three people, I noticed that two of them seemed to be in a very heated discussion, while the third just stood back and laughed.

"Halt!" Frank yelled, drawing the attention of the three, and a gasp from me

"Percy?!?" I exclaimed.

Percy's POV

(Back during Hazel's talk with Chiron)

"Cmon Thalia, let's get to camp!" I yelled, excited to finally stop wandering the woods, and maybe get to sleep on a bed.

Thalia just let loose a small laugh, before following me towards the rivers.

"Alright Percy, I am coming." Thalia said, laughing softly.

As me and Thalia ran, I started to think back to the first time I came to New Rome. And how I met Frank and Hazel. I would have continued to think of everything I went through with those two, but I was pulled out of my musing by Thalia grabbing my arm and yanking me backwards.

"Woah there Percy!" Thalia said, chuckling, "Aren't you forgetting something?"

"No?" I responded, feeling slightly confused.

"Cmon Percy!" Thalia exclaimed. "It is your first time back to Camp Jupiter since before the war! Don't you want to make a dramatic entrance, worthy of my father?" She continued, causing me to grin as ideas flooded my mind.

"You are a genius Thalia!" I exclaimed, before scooping her up and spinning her around, causing her to laugh.

"Put me down Percy." Thalia said, in between laughs.

"Nope!" I said, before spinning her around faster, only to receive a sudden jolt of lightning, courtesy of Thalia. "Ouch! Fine fine, you win this round." I exclaimed, putting Thalia down, and drawing more laughter from Thalia.

"So how are we gonna do this?" Thalia asked, after she reigned herself in.

"I have the perfect idea." I said, before pulling Thalia closer, in order to unnecessarily whisper the idea to her.

*Linebreak*

"Now Thalia!" I exclaimed, before raising my hands, and causing the water of the tiber to slowly raise up.

"Alright!" Thalia responded, before she too raised her hands and started to call down massive flashes of lighting.

Now let me explain this plan real quick. To put it simply, I plan to use the water to spell out mine and Thalia's name and also spell out that we have arrived, while Thalia continues to call down lighting to attract members of the camp.

Now obviously, considering that I made the plan, it didn't go as planned, not long after I raised the water up, I was interrupted by someone yelling at me

"What is the meaning of this?!?!?!?" a shrill voice yelled from my right, causing me to lose concentration and let the entire river come crashing back down, and causing Thalia to also lose her concentration.

"What?" I asked, turning towards the voice, only to be met with a firm smack "Ouch! What was that for?" I exclaimed.

"Who do you think you are controlling my waters?!?!?!?" The figure, which I now noted looked like a girl, and a nymph, yelled at me.

"You waters?" I asked, confused, before she smacked me again.

"Yes, my waters! I am Tiber! Who do you think you are?!?" the nymph, now known as Tiber yelled. Before she smacked me yet again

"Ouch! Dam it Tiber! Stop smacking me!" I exclaimed, rubbing my sore check, and causing Thalia to burst out laughing.

"Not till you tell me who you are, and why you think you can control the waters!" Tiber exclaimed, before smacking me yet again.

"Dam it Tiber!" I exclaimed, noting the arrival of a giant eagle on the scene.

Upon seeing Tiber raise her hand again though, I quickly reverted my attention to answering her question.

"Ok ok!" I said holding my hands in a placating manner, "I am Percy Jackson, son of Poseidon, I was simply trying to have a dramatic entrance!" I said, before receiving yet another smack from the river nymph.

"My river is not for your personal gain!" Tiber yelled, before she was cut off by someone calling

"Halt!" Frank yelled, drawing our attention, and a gasp from Hazel

"Percy?!?" Hazel exclaimed. And earning a cheeky grin from me.

"That's my name!" I said, bowing dramatically, "Don't wear it out."

Tiber just huffed in response, before leveling another glare at me and disappearing back into her waters.

"What is going on here?!?" Hazel exclaimed, looking at the spot that Tiber disappeared from

"That is a fun story." I said, scratching the back of my neck, before it was interrupted by Thalia smacking the back of my head.

"Dam it Thalia! What was that for?" I exclaimed, turning towards the smirking daughter of Zeus

"I wanted to." Thalia said, before walking next to me and giving me a chaste kiss of the cheek and walking past the two now stunned Praetors.

"Are you all coming?" Thalia called over her shoulder, snapping us out of our stupor and causing us to follow after her.

"And that is how we got here" Percy said, dramatically, after explaining everything that Frank and Hazel had missed the past couple of months.

"So wait." Frank said, holding up one finger, "so first, a son of Dionysus tried, and pretty much failed to turn camp against you."

"Yup." Thalia said, from her spot on my lap.

"Then Zeus confronted Percy about being a traitor, causing Percy to swear on the styx that he wasn't and the son of Dionysus to swear that Percy was and causing the son of Dionysus to go poof." Hazel continued.

"Yep." I respond, smiling at the memory.

"Then Thalia teased you about getting hard when you are around her?" Frank continued, looking uncomfortable with that particular topic.

"Yep." Thalia said, like it wasn't something that was unnecessary for her to add into my explanation.

"Then you went around telling the Egyptians and the Norse that Annabeth was dead." Hazel continued.

"Correct." I said simply

"And then you showed up and pissed off Tiber." Frank finished.

"Pretty much." Me and Thalia said together.

"Oh. ok." Hazel said, fanning herself as she remembered the part that Thalia had added.

"So what are you two doing here, I didn't catch that in the story?" Frank asked.

"Oh! You don't know" I exclaimed

"We decided to apply for college here, in New Rome!" Thalia exclaimed.

Third Person POV

And with that, the years flew by. Percy and Thalia started to attend classes at New Rome, during the school year. While also, much to their irritation, attending special summer classes at the American wizarding school, Ilvermorny. Something Hecate insisted on, saying that they needed to make a name for themselves in the wizarding world, and learn wizarding customs. Both managed to get placed in the Wampus house, something about them both being fantastic warriors, or having the hearts of a warrior, neither of them really paid attention.

While at Ilvermorny, they were able to perfect their magic, not needing as much time as other wizards, mostly because Hecate had given them almost all knowledge of the wizarding world, and then some. But they did learn interesting facts about the school.

The first fact they learned was that it was actually co-founded, by a mortal, or muggle if you are British, or No Maj, if you are American.

Following the learning of it being founded by a mortal, they also learned that the mortals lover, and co-founder, was actually a descendant of Salazar Slither, someone that Hecate's gift, explained was an avid muggle hater, and that the co-founder actually possessed Salazar's wand.

Following their time at Ilvermorny, and their progression through demigod college, Percy and Thalia had officially started dating. After many months of Thalia waiting for Percy to grow a pair and actually ask her, she had gotten sick of it and had actually stood up in the middle of class, marched over to Percy, yanked him out of his chair and kissed him in front of the class. Before she then stopped the kiss, pushed him back into his chair and told him to think about it and get back to her after class, and something else about how he was a kelp head, though Percy didn't hear to much of what she said, he was to focused on the heart stopping kiss he had received.

Following up with Thalia kissing him, Percy had taken her advice and had officially asked her to be his girlfriend, much to her amusement, because he was a shuffling mumbling fool.

After they had started dating, Percy had of course received the shovel talk, from each and every one of Thalia's godly siblings, including Ares. Though Ares mostly complained about how Percy had beat him to her, of course Percy then beat Ares black and blue in retaliation. Percy had also received a shovel talk from the hunters, saying that if Percy hurt Thalia, that castration would be the least of his worries.

And again, the years progressed. Percy and Thalia successfully graduated from college, though they didn't have plans for their future, at least not yet. They were, however, appointed as representatives for the camps.

And so, when the year 2015 rolled around, Percy had officially decided to yet again grow a pair and decided to ask Thalia the big question. But before he could do that he had another stop.

And so this brings us to the Olympian throne room, and one Percy Jackson, who for one of the few times in his life, is bowing before Zeus.

"Lord Zeus!" Percy called as he stood up. "I have a request!"

"What is this request?" Zeus asked, shifting uncomfortably at both how polite Percy was being, and their previous meeting when Zeus had caused Percy to swear on the styx and had lost Percy's trust.

"I wish for your blessing to marry your daughter Thalia." Percy said confidently. 

"WHAT?!?" Zeus bellowed, rising from his throne.

"Oh please." Percy said, signaling for Zeus to sit down, "Don't act surprised, Thalia told me of what you two discussed all those years ago during the award ceremony."

This of course caused Zeus to grumble in annoyance, before an idea popped into his head.

"I will allow this on two occasion." Zeus said

"Name them!" Percy said, feeling confident.

"The first, is that you and Thalia will accept godhood." Zeus started, before raising his hand when Percy went to interrupt. "I will talk to Thalia myself, but you are the big problem, you keep turning down the offer! Thalia I have no doubt will accept this offer, as long as you accept it as well."

"Why do you care if I am a god though?" Percy asked, causing Zeus to scoff in irritation.

"I care not if you are a god, nephew, it is my daughter I care about. I don't wish to lose her, and your constant refusal of godhood, might just cause her to also refuse." Zeus said.

"Fine!" Percy yelled, "If Thalia wishes to be made into a fully immortal goddess, then I shall accept the offer of godhood, but if Thalia doesn't want to be fully immortal, you better not force it upon her!" Percy responded, finishing off the implied threat by pulling out Sea's Wisdom, and pointing it at Zeus.

"Point taken!" Zeus said, eyeing the sword.

"Now what was the second request?" Percy asked.

"Second request? Oh right!" Zeus started, obviously having forgotten. "Well you see." Zeus shifted uneasily, "I wish for your trust back!" He suddenly yelled, before flushing gold.

Percy stood there for a second, before capping his sword and placing it back in his pocket. "Very well, you shall have my trust back, just know, that should you betray it again, it won't be this easy to gain it back." Percy said, ominous.

"Very well, nephew. You have permission to marry my daughter." Zeus said, before disappearing in a dramatic flash of lightning.

And so again, the time flew by, and the months progressed, and Percy meticulously planned the proposal, he had Hephaestus, Briares, and Tyson, work together to craft the most beautiful ring to ever exist, and had them give it the ability to turn into dual hunting knives whenever Thalia please, he said something about his lady loving a good fight, and he also had them ensure that the knives were unbreakable. And he also made them guarantee that the ring would always return to her.

And when the ring was ready, Percy planned the spot to ask Thalia, he even flew her to the area in the form of a pegasus, much to her enjoyment, and fear, which would be expected because of the height. Though her fear had decreased significantly from when she was younger, the speed for which Percy flew, made her worry about falling off.

And as the night progressed, they watched the moon rise above the water, and they stared at the moon's silver glow. Percy shifted ever so slightly and grabbed the ring box from his pocket. And as he saw that Thalia was still staring out to sea, he moved to one knee, and gave a small cough to catch her attention.

"Thalia." Percy started, careful not to say her last name.

And as Thalia turned towards Percy, and she saw the ring box, she couldn't help the gasp that escaped, nor the tears that leaked from her eyes.

And as Percy gave the most beautiful proposal to ever grace the world, Thalia was left speechless. And when Percy opened the box to reveal the ring. All Thalia could do was nod, as tears continued to stream down her face.
