Chapter 8
Chapter 8
Third Person POV
*Percy's Cabin (for now)
"So." Thalia started, ever gracefully flopping down on Percy's bed, "What's the plan?"
"Well that all depends on the answer to my next few questions." Percy respond, flopping down next to Thalia
"Water away!" Thalia said, drawing an 'Oh Really' look from Percy.
"Alright, I will 'Water away'" Percy responded, smirking, before condensing some water in the air and dumping it on Thalia, drawing a surprised blast of lightning that threw Percy onto a bunk on the other side of the cabin.
"PERSEUS!" Thalia yelled, her electric blue eyes, flashing and glowing with, well, electricity.
"Ugh" Percy groaned. "Remind me not to do that when there are hard objects around."
"So remind you to never do it?" Thalia teased, indicating the slight bulge in Percy's pants.
"Wha..." Percy started, before looking down. "AAHH!! It's not what you think! It's just my sword!"
"Oh I am well aware that it is your sword." Thalia teased, "And a mighty fine one it is."
"What do you.." Percy started, before realizing the double meaning of his words, "ah no! I mean my pen!"
"Yes, definitely a pen." Thalia mused, jokingly, "And an ever big pen you have there." she continued with a sly smirk.
"AAHHH!" Percy screamed, "not pen!!! I mean it's my wand!"
Of course this caused even more teasing from Thalia, before Percy, fully embarrassed, decided to end it.
"It's Ript... I mean Sea's Wisdom!" Percy exclaimed, fishing the pen out of his pocket and whiling the single sword to open up.
Percy's outburst caused Thalia to finally succumb to her laughter for which she had been holding in. After several minutes of Thalia quite literally rolling on the floor, and Percy continuing to grumble about not having a boner, though unknown to Thalia he was experiencing some.... activeness ... downstairs.
As Thalia finally resigned herself in, she decided to voice a thought she acquired when Percy had last second corrected himself on the name of his sword, "So you are gonna call it Sea's Wisdom, even in pen form?"
"Well, I figured, seeing as the swords when combined into one, are called Sea's Wisdom, so why not call the pen form Sea's Wisdom." Percy said, uncapping the pen and willing it into the single sword to prove his point.
"Anyways." Thalia said, deciding to get everything back on track, "The plan. You never asked your questions."
"Oh right!" Percy exclaimed, gaining a somber attitude considering what topic this would be about. "Did anyone ever contact the Kanes in regards to Annabeth's funeral, and did Anyone get a hold of Magnus?"
"No..." Thalia said, hesitantly, "And who are the Kanes? And who's Magnus?"
"The Kanes are some Egyptian magicians that me and Annabeth met after the giant war." Percy started, before getting cut off by Thalia
"So that's why you weren't too surprised about magic!" she exclaimed.
"Well that, and the fact that I am the literal son of a greek god." Percy said, chuckling at the end.
"So whose magic is strong?" Thalia mused, "Ours that we got from Hecate, or theirs?"
"Well they aren't really the same magic." Percy said, "They generally draw on their own life force and use it to create spells, or sometimes draw on the power of a god to create the magic, the downside is they can't do too much magic, for fear of burning to a crisp. But between me and you." Percy said, leaning closer to Thalia, "I think that our magic is stronger, especially with the training we have done with it."
"Dam straight!' Thalia yelled, before they both were taken over by a fresh round of laughing and giggling.
"Oh!" Percy suddenly exclaimed, causing Thalia to jump mid laugh, "Speak of our magic!"
"Oh no." Thalia mumbled.
"I think I know a way to make our wands stronger!" Percy exclaimed, before running towards his bedside table.
"Percy, we already have the most powerful wands in history!" Thalia groaned. Before realizing what she was complaining about and deciding to shut her trap, at least for now.
"Where are they!" Percy growled, throwing everything out of the drawer.
"Where is wha.." Thalia started to ask, before seeing Percy stand up with two long hairs in his hand
"Found them!" Percy exclaimed
"Are those..." Thalia started
"Yep! Hellhound hair, from Mrs. O'Leary!" Percy exclaimed proudly, before handing one to Thalia, "You know what to do?" Percy asked.
"Yes!" Thalia yelled, slightly irritated, "I have the same magical knowledge as you!"
"Alright alright." Percy said, placatingly, before they both began the long process of putting the hellhound hair into the wand.
*Some time later*
"Done!" Percy exclaimed, as he flopped on the bed, soon followed by Thalia.
"You know Percy.." Thalia mused, "I think there is another way for us to strengthen our wands.."
"Oh yeah?" Percy asked, "How?"
"Well... our wands are supposed to be an extension of us, and Hecate put the hair of our fathers in it to ensure we would have a better connection..." Thalia started hoping that Percy would catch on soon, only to be not so disappointed when he didn't
"Ok?" Percy responded, uncertainly.
"So what if we put our own hair inside the wand?" Thalia asked, "I mean, as wizards, we have magic flowing through our blood, and as Demigods we have even more magic flowing through us. So shouldn't our hairs be able to channel some of our magic directly into the wand, making it where we have an even stronger bond?"
"You are a genius!" Percy exclaimed, scooping Thalia up and spinning her around, before quickly placing her down and pulling a hair out of his head.
"Ready?" Thalia asked, having pulled a hair from her own head
"Ready!" Percy exclaimed, before they yet again started the process.
*Even more time later*
"Done!" Thalia cried out, sounding slightly exhausted. Before flopping down on Percy's bed
"Done!" Percy yelled, just a few seconds later. Before following Thalia's example and flopping down on his bed.
"Well, I think it is high time we go to bed." Thalia mused, tucking in next to Percy, "What do you say?" Thalia asked, before noticing that Percy had pulled a grover and was already snoring. "Goodnight Perce." Thalia said softly, before giving him a chaste kiss on his cheek and curling up next to him for the night.
Unknown to Thalia, but Percy had been awake the whole time, only pretending to have fallen asleep to see what Thalia would do. Needless to say, Percy was surprised to feel her kiss his cheek before she went to sleep, and he couldn't help but slowly reach up to touch the spot she kissed.
"Goodnight Thals." Percy whispered, pulling her closer and kissing the top of her head.
And with that, our young heroes fell asleep.
*TimeSkip*
As the weeks went by, Percy and Thalia slowly made their way towards New Rome. Along the way though, they had to make many stops. They first stopped at the first Nome. There they informed the Kane siblings of the unfortunate demise of Annabeth Chase, news that brought great sorrow to the twins, first to Carter, who lost who he called his brain buddy, and the only Person who he thought could match him in terms of intelligence, though Percy and Thalia both shut him down saying that Annabeth far surpassed him. And Sadie, who was sad to lose, and I quote 'A fellow bad ass girl in the career of saving the world', though her and Thalia quickly hit it off, and soon started to argue about what music was the best, and who had the better powers.
Following the meet up with the Kanes siblings, Percy and Thalia traveled with the Hunters for a short time, till they reached Boston. There, after many many days of searching, they met a girl named Sam, who told them to meet Magnus at a place called Fadlan's Falafel. And after waiting for close to forty five minutes, Magnus showed up only to be informed that Annabeth had died, and after a long explanation that greek afterlife was different than norse afterlife, and that Annabeth wouldn't be coming back as a super strength ghost thing, and after dealing with Jack trying to flirt with Sea's Wisdom, and after showing Jack that Sea's Wisdom could turn into one full sword, or two separate swords... well lets just say, Jack was madly in love. And after another twenty minutes of comforting Magnus over the loss of his cousin, and sharing some of their adventures, and explaining how Annabeth died, though Magnus refused to call Python, well Python, and insisted on calling it Jörmungandr, which confused the two greek demigods greatly, they were off again, slowly making their way towards their new home.
And as their final week of walking came to a close, and they walked through the Caldecott tunnel and into New Rome, they turned towards each other, grasped hands, and smiled, thinking of what this new life would bring.
