Percy's point of view

As the wedding was winding down I saw Aphrodite talking to Apollo, I groaned knowing he would probably have a comment the next time I saw him. And I figured my next conversation with my dad would be awkward. At this point people had started leaving I kind of wanted to leave too if only to avoid talking to anyone but I felt obligated to stay because it was my parents' wedding.

I had run into Triton earlier in the evening, I had hoped that he had gotten over his dislike for me. But if anything things were more awkward. I think he was jealous that I had been made an olympian. I didn't really blame him. I mean if I was him I probably wouldn't like it if my dad cheated on my mom either.

It was the morning after the wedding, I had been hoping that I would have the day to myself but instead Athena had decided to summon us for a council meeting. As I got there I looked around, Apollo, Hermes and Dionysus didn't look any happier about being here than I was, but then again they were probably hung over.

After we were all sitting on our thrones, Zeus said, "Why did you call this meeting daughter?"

 Thankfully she got straight to the point,   "Since we added Perseus to the council we now have an uneven number of council members. We have always had an even number of council members."

I interrupted her, it may not have been the smartest thing to do but I didn't want her to give Zeus any ideas. I said, "Are you suggesting that someone should step down Athena, because everyone in this room is worthy of being on this council. If anyone should step down it should be me..."

and then dad interrupted me he said, "No Percy you are staying!" I spoke again "Very well then why don't we make a deserving demigod a goddess to even things out, I believe that Piper McLean is worthy of the honour another option could be Katie Gardner." The mothers of the mentioned girls smiled.

Athena thought for a moment and then she spoke she said "I can't believe I'm saying this but I agree with the sea spawn." 

Everyone looked at her like she had grown another head because they didn't expect her to agree with anything that my dad or I said. I wanted to glare at her for not using my name, but I didn't want her to change her mind. She spoke again she said, "of the two I believe that Piper McLean is the best candidate."

Zeus said, "Very well someone go get her." 

"I will go get her," Aphrodite said cheerily and then disappeared in a flash of pink light.

While we were waiting for her to return with piper and knowing her probably Jason as well my dad mind messaged me and asked, "Has Apollo told you about how we make someone a god?"

 I answered, "No we didn't think that I needed to know that yet, we didn't expect that have to know that so soon."

 He told me how it was done and then broke the connection. Not long after, Aphrodite returned with Piper and Jason. Zeus spoke he said, "Piper McLean we have brought you here to offer you the greatest gift we can give, if you accept we will make you a goddess and offer you a place on this council." I almost laughed at Piper and Jason's shocked expressions, the only reason I didn't was because I imagined that my face had probably been much the same when my dad had made the same offer to me.

Piper stuttered, "W-what about Jason?" 

 Aphrodite must have had a mind conversation with Zeus or something because he said, "If none of the council disagrees we will make him immortal. All in favour of making Piper McLean a goddess and Jason Grace an Immortal." 

 Everyone agreed, well except for Dionysus who had fallen asleep in his throne which was nothing new.Once that was decided Zeus asked them, "Will you accept?"

 Piper and Jason talked to each other for a moment before saying at the same time; "We accept."

 we started with Piper; it went much the same as mine did, she nearly fell but Jason caught her, Then Piper passed out. Just before she passed out the fates appeared saying, "all hail Piper McLean, Goddess of natural beauty, Bravery, Persuasion and Kindness.

After she passed out Apollo took the infirmary in his palace to wait for her to wake up. He came back and then we made Jason immortal. After that we discussed what Piper's symbol of power, sacred animals and roman name should be. We decided that her symbol of power would be her knife Katoptris and that her sacred animal should be the swan.

We still couldn't decide what her Roman name should be. While we waited for her to wake up I felt someone contact my mind, I wasn't sure who it was  until the god said, "Hey cuz I hear you're officially one of us now."

 "What do you mean Apollo?" I asked, I had quickly figured out that's who it was. I already  had a pretty good guess of  what he meant but I asked anyway. 

Apollo replied,"I hear you found a new girl who just so happens to be a mortal." 

 There wasn't much point in denying it but I did anyway. "she's just a friend," I said, 

"Yeah right and I'm a cyclops. Give it a few months and you'll have your first demigod."

 I said, "no I won't, and get out of my head Apollo!"

Finally after thoroughly embarrassing me he broke the connection I was sure that I was blushing, and some of the other gods were looking at me weirdly. When I glanced at him Apollo was smirking at me. Shortly after this he went to check on Piper, Aphrodite followed him out. The rest of the meeting went much the same as the meeting when I had been made a god. When she came back to the throne room her throne appeared. It was white with a swan, and Katoptris on it.

When the meeting ended it had been decided that Aphrodite would train Piper which I don't think Piper was too enthusiastic about. Aphrodite had wanted her to stay at her palace as well, but piper had chosen to stay with Hestia since she had offered to let her stay at her palace. I figured that was the best plan since we had no idea what Aphrodite might have been doing in her palace.

I went back to dad's palace where I was staying and had a late lunch of Nectar and Ambrosia, I have been eating that for most of my meals these days, I find that Mortal food doesn't taste as good as it used too, well I guess mortal food tastes the same but nectar and ambrosia are better.  The few times that I have eaten mortal food or had mortal drinks were when I was out with Amber. I would be doing that again tonight since her party was tonight.

But I am really uncertain about the whole thing, I mean I couldn't bring myself to leave her now I think we both like each other too much I didn't want to do to her what Annabeth had done to me. But I was also telling myself it doesn't matter how much you like her, you will have to leave her eventually you're a god now.

Now I understood how my dad must have felt when he had to leave me and Mom. Not only that, but Apollo's comments earlier had really made me think. I realized that if I let this go too far I could very well end up with a demigod child, and I knew that any child of mine would be powerful, and would be in a lot of danger. I know from experience how difficult a demigod's life could be.

I channel surfed Hephaestus TV for a while, still arguing with myself but there was nothing I was interested in watching at the moment. Suddenly there was a knock on the door I walked over to see who it was but before I opened it I asked "who's there?"

 I heard a voice on the other side say "It's me Jason,"

I opened the door and let him in; he said, "So this is your dad's palace?"

 I answered, "Yeah he's letting me stay here until mine is built."

 I led him over to the living room where we sat down in a couple of chairs. He asked, "Whose idea was it to make Piper a goddess; I don't imagine that it was my dad's idea."

I chuckled and then explained how Athena had called the meeting and how I had come up with the idea. Jason asked, "Percy is there something bothering you; if you want to we could talk about it?" I sighed "it's kind of something that only gods would understand." But then I decided I would tell him he would find out soon enough anyway.

"Two days after I became a god I kind of ran into a girl in Central Park." 

 He raised an eyebrow and said, "You got over Annabeth that quickly did you?" 

I blushed and then continued speaking "I know I will have to leave her sooner or later, but I can't bring myself to do it especially after what Annabeth did to me." 

He looked at me sympathetically he said, "You're right bro I don't know what you should do, I guess you will just have to decide for yourself what to do."
