Chiron, Percy, and Annabeth were sitting around the card table (Mr. D. had retired for his "midday nap") waiting for Luke to return from his audience with the Oracle. It was fairly quiet, none of the three saying anything. Annabeth slapped her hat against her knee, and Chiron sat patiently waiting. Percy got impatient, stood up, and began pacing the length of the porch. He knew it was only going to be a few minutes at most, after all, how long does it take to receive a prophesy.
After what seemed like and hour, Luke exited the Big House and sat down at the table. Percy went over and sat to Luke's right.
"Well, I got the prophesy." Luke announced.
"And..." Annabeth pressed.
"Give him a second." Percy shot at the daughter of Athena.
"Quiet, both of you." Chiron said, "Now, I know that prophecies can be difficult to take in, but we really must know what it said."
"Yeah." Luke breathed out, "Yeah, ok. It said In the folds of the Indigo Range/The Crooked One awaits an exchange./A born Hunter, son of the sea/Works to set the Winged Beast free./Deception and Cunning fight in stride/Neither able to turn the tide./Thief and Sage combat the foes./A change of heart will one undergo."
Everyone was quiet for a minute, then Percy spoke up, "Well, that was intense."
Luke and Annabeth look at Percy oddly and he sighs, "This is why I hate prophecies. Too much doom and gloom. Besides," He continues, "whoever said that out fate was set in stone."
"Ok, that was a kind of pointless digression, so let's try to get back on track." Annabeth speaks up.
"Well, the prophesy does tell us where we need to go." Luke says.
Chiron nods, "Indeed Mr. Castellan." Chiron nods, "This Indigo Range that is mentioned."
"Ok, but where, or rather what, is the Indigo Range." Annabeth has a look of extreme exasperation.
"The Rockies."
Everyone looks at Percy.
"What? Range: mountain range. Indigo is purple. 'Purple mountain majesty.'" Percy explains.
"Of course!' Annabeth slaps her forehead, "That was referring to the color the Rocky Mountains appear to be."
"And Pikes Peak specifically." Percy jumps back in.
"Ok, we have a location." Luke says, "Now we need to figure out the rest of the lines."
"What about the exchange that Kronos is waiting for? Why would we make a deal with him?" Annabeth asks.
Everyone shrugs in response.
"Perhaps the exchange is not with you." Chiron says, "Perhaps a third party has some interest."
"And the next line is obviously about Perce." Luke says, "And the line below it doesn't seem too bad."
"I do like the idea of setting Pegasus free." Percy says.
"Deception and Cunning fight in stride." Luke mutters, "Anyone have any ideas?"
"Well, in stride could be used to mean on the same team, or against another group." Annabeth says, "So we really don't know which side they are on."
"And if the next line holds true, then neither of those two will have an advantage." Percy muses.
"The thief and Sage are probably myself and Annabeth." Luke continues, "But what is that change of heart?"
Everyone shrugs, and Chiron speaks up, "You have certainly thought through this but remember: do not put too much stock in prophecies, for fate has an interesting way of unfolding."
"Right, our speculations could be completely off point." Annabeth says.
Percy stands up, "Then let's not worry about it." Turning to Luke, he asks, "So, when are we heading out?"
Luke looks slightly surprised, "Why are you looking at me?"
"You're the Quest leader."
Luke turns to the centaur "What do you think, Chiron?"
The old horse strokes his beard, "While I would say you must make haste, it would also seem that Kronos is not in any hurry to do anything. Besides, it is already late. I would say you should leave tomorrow morning."
Annabeth stands up, "Right, then tomorrow it is."
Luke and Percy stand up as well and the three Questers head their separate ways.

A/N Hey peeps! I just noticed that my chapters seem to be getting longer. And it's seems I accidentally lied, the quest will begin in two chapters. I need the time to figure out what I want to do.
Just here, telling you to be awesome,
