Every Dream is Bad

[A/N: Yeah... It's been a while, but this is a very important chapter, so pay attention to everything. Good luck.]

Percy had a weird dream. Well, he's had a lot of weird (demigod) dreams, but on a scale of one to ten, this was an eleven.

Percy was standing... No, floating. He was floating through the sky. Ahead of him was a brilliantly glowing animal. Percy willed himself forward. As he got closer, the demigod was able to discern what exactly "it" was. It was a pegasus. A brilliant white pegasus. Somehow, Percy knew instinctively that it wasn't just any pegasus, it was the Pegasus: the immortal father of his namesake species and one of the fastest creatures.

Pegasus swooped forward, away from Percy, in somewhat of a rush. Percy willed his spirit to keep up with the winged beast. Then suddenly, Percy heard a gust of wind blow behind him. Twisting around, Percy caught a facefull of wind. The wind blasts Pegasus in his right wing and causes the beast to start spiralling down.

"NO!" Percy yells out.

Then, it gets worse.

A cage forms out of nowhere and traps Pegasus. The flying horse cries and stomps against the cage. Percy could understand it as well. Pegasus was calling out, crying for, a friend. He was desperate for help.

Then, an evil laugh curls up from below, a sound like a knife across stone.

Percy wakes up, breathing hard and dripping sweat around the cabin. He stands up and goes to the nearest window and looks out the opening. After judging the stars, Percy decides that its approximately two in the morning.

Percy goes back and lies down on his bed and begins to meditate, deciding that he wouldn't be able to fall asleep. Not five minutes into his session, Percy hears banging on the cabin door.

"Percy, It's Luke." A voice calls out, "Can I come in man, it's important."

Percy stands up and opens the door, "Come in quickly, before the harpys find you."

"Thanks man."

Percy shuts the door behind the son of Hermes and sits down on his bed. Luis sits down on the bunk across. Right away, Percy can tell he's anxious. Luke was looking around a lot and sweating. He kept fidgeting.

Percy nods to the side of the room, "There's water in that cooler if you want any."

Luke nods, but doesn't move.

Percy sighs. Having never had to deal with such a situation, he is uncertain as to what to do. (A/N talk about a fancy sentence.)

Percy sighs, "So, what's so important that you had to come here at two in the morning?"

"Well..." He starts hesitantly, "I had a really messed up dream."

Percy motions for Luke to continue.

"So, I was standing at the edge of this pit." He starts, "And a voice starts talking. He tries to urge me to go against my father and the rest of the Olympians.

Luke swallows nervously, "He told me that he has already found a way to keep Zeus from using his greatest weapons. He told me that I could join him and be the 'master of the greatest of winged beasts.'"

"Why did you come to me specifically?" Percy asks.

"Well, after all of this, he told me 'now swear your allegiance to me, Kronos, and kill the Boy Hunter.'" And I think he is referring to you.

"Now why would you think that?" Percy asks, a little too quickly.

"Well, at first I thought that he meant a son of Apollo, but they're never called hunters. Then I remembered you mention Zoe and Pheobe." He pauses, "That triggered a memory from around six years ago. Myself, Annabeth, and another demigod named Thalia were trying to get to camp, when we ran into a group called the Hunters of Artemis."

"Then you made the connection, because you meet two girls there named Zoe and Phoebe." Percy finishes for him.

Luke nods.

"Alright, but you can't tell anyone that I'm connected to the Hunt, ok?" Percy says, a hint of ice in his voice.

"I won't. I swear."

"On the River Styx." Percy pushes, the ice now steel.

Luke sighs, "Fine, I swear on the River Styx not to reveal you connection to the Hunt unless you allow so."

"Ok, thank you." Percy says, "I have a few theories, but is rather go over them once, so can we wait until we get a chance to talk to Chiron?"

"Sure." Luke says.

"Ok, good." Percy waits a second, "Luke, go back to your cabin."
