—————————————————————
UNKNOWN POV
'You're pretty fired up' A voice called.
'Well it's been a long time since I've been involved in anything remotely interesting' I stated.
HE stepped into the room, an oblivious expression on his face, cracking his neck casually. He seemed really uninterested, but there was a certain excitement in his character, a spring in his step.
'What about you? You play it cool, but you're fired up as well aren't you?'
He held his hands up. 'You got me there'
He took a few breath. 'How can I not be? I've been waiting for this moment'
I walked past him, heading to the door. I stopped once I reached. Looking back I could see him concentrating, his muscles tensing.
His eyes became blue. The atmosphere, electric.
'You've been asleep, Prince. But now you're awake. The last piece of the puzzle'
I closed the door behind me as I exited, but the barely audible screams followed me through the dark, empty and desolate castle, as if seeping through the walls of its tunnel.
The screams soon turned into laughter.
Maniacal Laughter.
PERCY'S POV
Silence. I'm the one in control.
I snapped out of my conflict with myself (if that makes any sense).
Taking a deep breath, I stepped towards the sea, my footprints taking shape as I took each step on the the wet sand.
Lately, the sea had stopped being a safe haven for me. I didn't feel safe, comfortable, reassured near the sea anymore. The sea no longer felt like home.
It felt gray, as if it had lost all its extravagance, all its purpose, all its power.
I walked straight into the water, as far as where the water came up to my knees. I knelt down, dipping my hand in the water.
I didn't just feel gray. It was literally gray, as if the colour had faded from the water.
I reminded myself of my beginnings, my childhood, of my time in Camp, of my father. For a minute, I acknowledged myself again. For a minute, I wasn't Satan, Son Of Chaos. I was Perseus, Son Of Poseidon.
As an immediate effect, the water regained its colour, as if a new lifeline had been granted to it.
I felt a hand on my shoulder. I quickly turned around.
A broken god of the sea stood before me, his hand outstretched, an expression of disappointment on his face and sadness in his eyes.
'I'm sorry. I thought you were someone else' His expression hardened, becoming guarded.
'Ah, just the person I wanted to talk to'. I knelt down on my feet.
'What are you-'
'Please forgive me for my previous actions, Lord Poseidon. I was overwhelmed and it definitely wasn't the right thing to do'
'Oh, you're talking about the incident when you hit me? Don't worry, that wasn't me'
'What?'
'Although I admit I might be beaten by you. But not that easily. That was just a water clone'
I laughed. 'Well played Lord Poseidon'
After a momentary smirk, Poseidon's expression turned about sad.
'If you don't mind me asking, what is the matter? You seem..sad'
As much as I acted like I didn't care, I didn't want to see my father like this.
He didn't look like his usual self. His face was sunken and hollow, his eyes gray and old, filled with despair. His clothes loosely hung on his body, as if he was a skeleton.
'Well approximately five years ago, I lost my son, Perseus. It was a huge....misunderstanding. I'm sure you've heard the story about him from the campers'
'I have'
'Well ever since he's gone, me, everybody at Camp, we've been looking for him but there has been no sign of him. Not even a little sign....'
'Well maybe I can help you there'
Poseidon looked at me. 'How? Please..'. Poseidon looked desperate, like he was grasping at straws.
I had gone through a lot because of what my father had done, even if he was under some dark influence. But I hated seeing him like this. He looked like he was...dying.
I sighed. 'Well Perseus is alive'
Poseidon's eyes lit up. 'He is? Where is he? I want to meet him'
'Slow down there Lord Poseidon. He's not as ready as you are I'm guessing. If he was, wouldn't he have come back as soon as he heard that his betrayal was a misunderstanding'
Poseidon looked down, clenching his fists.
'He probably hates me, thinks I am the worst father ever'
I couldn't let him down without giving him some hope. 'He doesn't think that'
'How do you know?' Poseidon raised his eyebrow.
I scratched the back of my neck. Guess since I've already told half the story, should probably tell the other half as well.
But not yet.
'Perseus is part of my Army. No point asking which member he is. He doesn't want to reveal himself yet. He wants to, but he's not ready'
Poseidon looked disappointed.
'But, he asked me to relay a message to you'
'Yes?'
I sighed. It was time. No, not to reveal myself you overexcited readers. I've been in too much pain and despair all this time. But I don't have to be anymore. I have people who have my back now, people I trust. And I have no learn to be trusting. To be forgiving.
'He says that he will reveal himself soon. He says that he loves you. He forgives you'
Poseidon closed his eyes, as if processing my words. He took a deep breath.
A bright radiant light engulfed his body and from the light he emerged. The real God of the Sea.
'I must thank you Satan. You have helped me a lot. I will not forget your favour. Until we meet again'
And just like that, the God of the Sea was gone. Dam-I mean damn-.
THIRD PERSON POV
'Percy' stood on the sea shore, his fist clenched, an expression of rage etched onto his face.
'Damn you, Percy. You overwhelmed me for a moment. You're compromising the mission. You're just a weak and scared piece of shit. So stay that away. Don't interfere'
And with that, he walked away from the shore, his eyes darting in all directions, on the lookout for eves-droppers'
