Chptr. 38
"Love will call
At the end of the day
Your heart will ride it out
Love will call
When you faith slips away..."

"Lord Zeus, why did I need to come in front of Olympus' council?" Thor asked. Poseidon looked in fear towards the God who he knew had helped him save his son. "To stand trial for what Anthony, or Tony, Stark, Natasha Romanov, Clint Barton, Steven, or Steve, Rogers have done to insult the Greek council of Olympus," Zeus said, making Thor's eyes widen in shock. "I am sorry, Lord Zeus, but I am afraid that that is not an option." "And how is that, Blondy?" Ares asked while sharpening his sword. "We, the Gods of the North and the Gods of Greece, have a pact. We will not interact with each other's business." "And yet, Mighty Thor, you have interacted with this mortal. You are in a team with mortals who not only blew up the graves of many great demigods but also caused another great demigod to collapse and disappear," Athena said, saying Mighty Thor like an insult. "You have caused great trouble for the Greeks and the Romans with your stunt." "I am sorry for your loss, Lady Athena and Lord Zeus, you know I am. But I should not be held responsible for actions that were not mine but of people who thought they were doing good." "We do not want you being sorry," Hephaestus said, anger coating his voice. "I would like to burn you alive, Thundergod. You talk about not being responsible, yet you were there when they blew up the cemetery! My son's grave is destroyed! His body can never be recovered! Now not only is his life ended by hateful monsters, but his memory as well." Approving shouts came from all sides of the throne room, all filled with hate and the sadness of grieve.
"Silence!" Poseidon shouted, quitting all the shouts. All eyes were fixed on him. "This God has helped me save my son in the darkest of days. He did not only ignore the team of hateful monsters to make sure my son would live, he cared for him." Everybody was listening, nothing was said by anyone else, even Zeus was listening carefully to what his brother had to say about the Norse Thundergod. "Percy was living in the Tower of the mortal Stark, his heart shattering because of the loss, his mind cracking with sadness and his soul crying out for help. He was poisoned." "How was he poisoned?" Athena asked, looking at Poseidon motioning towards Thor. "In his nightmares." "What?" Apollo asked, looking confused, not understanding what Poseidon had just said. "He was having visits of Tartarus in his nightmares..." "The poor kid..." Aphrodite said sobbing while blowing into her tissue. "He was poisoned and because of the God in front of us, he still lives! I owe this God my son's life!" "Yet he made your son disappear," Zeus said. "I'd rather have him alive and missing than dead because of our enemy." Silence fell in the throne room as the rest of the Gods thought about Poseidon's words. The impact was deep and was felt.
"Thor, Norse God of thunder, lightning, storms, oak trees, strength and so on and forth, I, Zeus, Greek God of the sky and thunder and king of Olympus, declare you free from the allegations made by the Council of Gods of Olympus under the condition that you keep us posted on the actions of your team of mortals called the Avengers. If you ignore this condition, there will be consequences worse than your worst nightmares."

Percy walked through the woods, watching every step he took. Sun shining on his face while he felt the cold of Alaska. The hat of wool on his head, some locks of hair sticking out. Life had went by bit by bit. The thing he had wanted most, a normal life, was apparently not the thing he needed... He needed her... "Percy, I want you to promise me something," Annabeth said, looking deeply into his seagreen eyes. She never made him promise anything that was not of importance to her heart and mind. "Tell me," Percy said. They were both laying on a picnic sheet in the middle of a field of grass and flowers. Annabeth's hair was spead around. "Promise me, you'll live..." She said on the verge of tears. "Annabeth..." Tears streamed down her face while a sob escaped her mouth. She sat up, Percy following her lead and wrapping his arms around her body. "You know I'd do anything for you, Annabeth... You know everything I do, I'd do it for you." "I know, Percy, I'm just... Just afraid I'd might lose you..." Percy lifted up her chin to look him directly in his eyes. "After this war we're going to New Rome... We are going to live, Annabeth. We are going to share a life together, I wouldn't dare to die before that happened." She smiled through her tears and hugged Percy back.
Percy looked at the little altar he had made in the woods, he knew they had one at home but... He just wanted some time for the two of them. It was a tree with Annabeth's name cut in it... Nothing more... He didn't need more, she did deserve more though... "I kept my promise Annabeth..." He started, his voice starting to quiver. "I'm living... I have a beating heart and I'm breathing... But..." He stopped for a second, everything hitting him once again in the chest like a punch. "You are not... I am not truly alive without you Annabeth... Without any of them, Annabeth... You were the reason I did not die before and the reason I couldn't die... You were my reason to live... But you're gone..." He fell to his knees, sobbing as his heart was cracking once again.
"I love you, Seaweed Brain," Annabeth laughed. "I love you too, Wise Girl."
