Percy Jackson's memories
3rd POV
"Who do you guys think had the best childhood?" Annabeth asked the seven, looking around the observe everyone's expression. Most people were already looking at the person they chose, which was pretty depressing.
"Percy." They all said simply. Percy crossed his arms stubbornly, plastering a fake smile on his face. Of course they think that, they don't know, I can't judge them for that. Percy thought sadly.
"Well, what was your childhoods like?" He asked with a raised eyebrow. Of course he knew that for the most part, they were only neglected.
"My dad ignored me."
"My mom drank a lot"
"My step mom hated me and constantly treated me like a monster."
"Foster homes."
"Used by my mom."
The list went on and on, until everyone has put their life stories before being a demigod into one sentence. "And what was your childhood like? Flowers and rainbows? Spending all your time with your mom?" Thalia asked with a scowl.
"My mom was never around. She was busy trying to keep a roof over our heads." Percy shrugged, silently punching himself.
"Well you had Paul, he never neglected you." Annabeth said pointedly.
"My mom wasn't married to him until I was a demigod. She met him when I was fourteen. I thought you knew about my previous step dad, the one that was saying I was a troubled kid all over the news when we were twelve." Percy said, raising an eyebrow. Annabeth remembered that, not very well, but she did.
"Never heard about him since. What happened to him?" Annabeth asked, trying to figure out what happened.
"Well, when I got home from the quest, Gabe tried kicking me to the streets, Poseidon sent back Medusa's head, and I told my mom to use it on him. She did. Sold his statue self for some money." Percy shrugged. Minute by minute, Percy was scolding himself, he shouldn't have said anything.
"Well at least he didn't hit you." Piper said, looking at Percy as if asking for clarification. Percy sat casually, and smiled, and it almost seemed sickly, especially to Piper.
"Nope. So I guess I did have it pretty good compared to you guys." Percy said, trying to end the conversation. Annabeth was suspecting something, and when she looked across the room, she saw others were thinking the same thing.
"Well, I have to go, I'll see you guys later." Annabeth said casually and walked away. Percy stared after her, confused.
"I don't remember her having anything to do." Percy mumbled quietly to himself, looking at her suspiciously before shrugging it off.
Percy's POV
Oh my gods, I said to much. How could I go far with it? I should've just said 'yeah, my mom was always there for me' and been done with it! I should never go far with proving a point, it's stupid.
"Percy, are you lying?" Jason asked with a raised eyebrow. Annabeth had already left, but everyone else stayed.
"No, my mom was there when I needed it, I had a roof over my head, and I wasn't ignored. I had a good childhood." I sure wasn't ignored. Jason seemed to believe me, and so did everyone else. Suddenly my new phone began to ring. Leo made them. "I'll see ya guys later." I said and walked away. It was my mom. She usually didn't call in case of emergencies.
"Percy! Thank gods you answered!" My mom said in a relieve voice.
"What is it? Did something happen?" I asked, rushing my words. I don't know what I'd do if my mom was in trouble. I can't lose her, I would break.
"Poseidon just contacted me, and said he wanted me up on Olympus, along with you and the rest of the demigods. It's going to be important, I can feel it. I also think this will be about you, because I wouldn't be summoned as well if it weren't." My mom said, and she sounded worried. Suddenly a bad feeling settled itself into my stomach, finding a home.
"I think Annabeth said something to the gods. I'm sorry mom, I mentioned Gabe and now they are suspecting things I should've just kept my mouth shut, I'm so sorry." I ranted nervously. Funny how after all these years, I'm still afraid of doing something wrong. Even with my own mom, I feel like I'd get attacked.
"Percy, I'm not mad. It's okay if your friends know, it was years ago." My mom said sadly. It still haunts her too.
"They think we had it good, I'm not going to make them think otherwise. I don't know how they would react if they knew anyways. I don't know if they would leave me, or be mad or something." I said.
"If they were real friends, they would be there for you. The gods are about to flash us to Olympus prepare yourself." My mom said, hanging up.
"How we would react if we knew what exactly?" I heard someone say, and I jumped, probably about 3 feet high, which made someone snicker. I saw it was everyone I was with before excluding Annabeth.
"Nothing. The gods are about to summon us apparently, I'll see ya guys later." I shrugged casually and walked away. Suddenly there was a bright light, and everyone was flashed to Olympus.
When I opened my eyes, I was seated on a couch, sitting beside my mom and Annabeth.
"Why a couch?" I asked with a raised eyebrow. No one responded to my question, so I shrugged it off. This was going to be important.
"Perseus Jackson, we were informed that you might be keeping secrets from us, and we wanted to know what. We want to know about these." Zeus said loudly, pulling out a small bag and dumping the contents out. I bit the inside of my cheek.
"Prescriptions for depression, anxiety, and PTSD? I can understand PTSD, but depression and anxiety?" Poseidon asked. He sounded disappointed, which made my heart tighten.
