( My Author Notes are in bold. This chapter probably isn't a good representation of four year olds but I haven't lived with a four year old for a couple of years. Just bear with me. )
 
Sally POV

Somehow, Percy had convinced me to let him have his birthday party on the beach. Normally I tried to keep Percy away from water in public. Percy's powers could raise suspicion, and I didn't want attention drawn to us. But, Alas, I couldn't resist Percy's pouting face. I mean he looks like a lost baby seal! So now here we are, on our way to the beach. I invited all of Percy's friends and their parents. Percy is sitting in the backseat of my car humming 'under the sea'.

Soon we arrive at the beach. I park the car and before I can stop him, Percy jumps out of the car and runs down the beach. He proceeds to run down the dock and jump into the water, fully clothed.
Luckily, we had showed up early, so nobody else was there. I took the party supplies out of my car. I knew of Percy's powers and that he would be just fine underwater, but he had been down there for a while, so I walk down the dock and call for Percy. Soon he pops his head out of the water and climbs up onto the dock, completely dry.

" Sorry mommy, I was just talking to the fishies. They keep calling me 'lord'. The fishies are funny."

" If you say so Percy. Hey Percy, do you wanna build a sandcastle?" I ask him, and just like I thought, he runs and grabs a bucket and shovel, sits in the sand and starts to build. I smile to myself, and start to set up for the party.

Fifteen minutes later, other cars start pulling up. I look over at Percy, he hasn't noticed that his friends are here. Percy is to focused on his sandcastle, which is unbelievably detailed. It's almost as tall as Percy and is really impressive.  I sigh and walk over to greet the guests.

Once all of the guests are here, I show the parents the pavilion. All the parents who decided to stay, which was most of them, sat down and started talking amongst themselves.

3rd person POV
One of Percy's friends, Ethan (Not Nakamura), walks over to Percy. Ethan sits down next to Percy, but Percy doesn't look up from his sand castle. Finally Ethan taps Percy on his shoulder and says

" Percy, do you even know that we're here?" But this child could not pronounce his R's right, so it sounded more like ' Pewcy, do you even know that we'we hewe?' ( Sorry if I offended anyone with a speech impairment. I have a lisp so...yeah, I guess....). Apparently, Percy did NOT know that his friend were there and was startled by Ethan, causing Percy to jump and scream. Percy's friends giggled as he realized their presence.

" Sorry, I didn't see you." Percy replied sheepishly.

" It's OK, that's a pwetty cool sand castle." Ethan said. The other kids mumbled in agreement.

" Oh, I guess." Percy says as if noticing his amazhang (Sry I just had to) sand castle for the first time.

" It's not my best though." Percy continued. All of his friends stared at him. Some in disbelief and some in awe. Percy grinned, and then a wave came and swept his castle away. Percy was looking towards his friends and not his castle, but he knew his castle was swept away, in fact, he had PURPOSELY swept it away with his powers. Percy's friends however, were heartbroken when Percy's castle was destroyed. Some even cried out. Percy frowned slightly, and said,
" It's okay. I could always build another one. But for now, I think we should go swimming." Nobody questioned how he knew his castle was gone without looking and everyone agreed to go swimming.

They all ran off to go get their swimming suits from their parent(s). Once they came back, a girl named Lucy asked Percy,

" Why aren't you wearing a swimsuit, you are going swimming right?"
" Oh right," Percy says looking down.
" You guys start, I'll be right back."

As Percy was walking away, some of the parents walked up to supervise the children as they swam. All the Percy's friends started swimming and soon Percy came back in proper swimming attire. The adults watched as Percy sprinted down the dock and yelled,
" Look out below!" All the kids by the end of the dock were pushed out of the way. Almost as if the water had pushed them. Then Percy cannonballed off the end of the dock. The splash he made was humongous, and seemed to be forming shapes, like horses and fish. Everybody who witnessed Percy's jump applauded. But then the parents realized that Percy hadn't come up yet. And as one does when a child disappears underwater, the parents panicked. They called the kids out of the lake and Lucy's dad ran off to get Sally. When Lucy's dad reached Sally he tries not to look worried, takes a deep breath and says,

" Sally, Percy went underwater and hasn't come up yet."  Lucy's dad was expecting Sally to freak out, like he would if Lucy drowned but instead, Sally just sighed, mumbled something inaudible, gets up and heads for the beach. When she gets there, all the other parents start saying things like
' He has been under for about 5 minutes' and
' I am so sorry Sally, there was nothing we could do' . But Sally doesn't seem sad, just a bit annoyed. The other parents are a puzzled, it's not Percy's fault that he drowned, but they are mostly worried. Sally walks to the end of the dock and yells,
" Percy Achilles Jackson! Get out of the water this second!" The other parent are looking at Sally like she is crazy. That is until, Percy is seen slowly rising from the water.

" Sorry Mommy."
" It's okay Percy but you scared everyone." Sally continues,
" Hey it's okay everyone, he was just hiding under the dock." Sally tried to convince the other parents, but most of them were still suspicious. The kids on the other hand, believed her and jumped back into the water. Percy apologized one more time and followed them in.

Fifteen minutes later, Sally brought out the cake. Percy's birthday cake was chocolate with blue frosting and designs of fish. After all the kids had their slice of cake, it was time for everyone to go home. Percy was sad to see his friends go and decided to have a ' grand finale' for his party. When nobody was looking, Percy snuck back into the water and finished up his surprise. Soon Sally was calling for him again, so he could say goodbye to all his friends. Percy climbed out of the water and said,
" Wait! Don't go I have a surprise!" Percy called his friends down to the beach and the adult started talking. They didn't notice when a big wave swept their kids into the water. Percy made a bubble for all of his friends and showed them his 'surprise' . Percy had made and amazing underwater castle. It was so much bigger than the first one he built and all his friends were staring at it in awe. They swam around it for awhile. Soon, however, they had to go back to the surface so they could go home. After everyone had driven away, Percy went back underwater while Sally cleaned up the party.

Up on Olympus, Poseidon, the god of the sea, watched his son proudly. He smiled to himself and waved his hand, the beautiful sand castle that his son had built was now covered in stunning coral.

The sea god had created a coral reef from his sons castle, and if humans don't pollute the water, the castle should remain there for a while.

That's chapter #1.  The word count is, 1365. How was it?  I personally think the ending was bad, but overall it was Ok.  How do you think it was?
