[11] - Into Tartarus we go

It's DarkPercy. He's immortally 18 btw. Here you go.
<> represents next chapter.

"You will be sentenced to Tartarus!"

Gasps rang throughout the room as everyone stared at the hero standing in the middle. He seemed unfazed by the sentence as he stared unamused. He tilted his head and answered, "Okay."

The gods baffled by his reaction. Anyone would have been scared to death or begged to be killed instead. So why wasn't he doing any of that?

Percy smirked as he saw their confused expressions. The gods hated not knowing what was happening and Percy loved to confuse them. "I don't have all day," he said bored.

Zeus narrowed his eyes at him as he watched the demigod. He was calm and didn't seem to be faking any of it. He glanced at Hades and nodded his head. The lord of the Underworld waved his hand and a portal appeared. The cold wind rushed up making the room temperature drop tremendously. Everyone could hear the cold and sinister laughter of the Pit primordial.

Percy peered down and whistled a dropping motion. He turned around and faced the gods. "Well, it was fun while it lasted," he said casually. The gods stared at him once more confused.

Percy opened his palm and a frozen trident appeared. "When this trident melts, it means I'll be back," he said. His eyes turning dark green before he threw the trident. It embedded itself into Zeus' throne making the god flinch.

He walked backwards still grinning and gave everyone a final glance. "And when I'm back, it means you're screwed," he said and smirked sinisterly. He grinned before falling backwards.

The hole closed up but not before letting his laughter run loose. And shockingly, his laughter was even scarier than Tartarus'.

<>

Percy had been falling for a few hours. When he sensed water, he dived down and fell into it. When he resurfaced, he felt different. Stronger and more powerful. He walked out of the River of Styx unharmed. A rush of cold wind past him as he smiled at the Pit.

"I'm back."

Not a minute later, a manticore appeared. It wasn't just any manticore, it was Dr Thorn. "If it isn't the son of Poseidon," he said. His scorpion-like tail flicked as he circled the demigod. He had a snarl on his face as he stalked him.

Percy stared at the manticore unamused. Dr Thorn sniffed the air and he widened his eyes in surprise. "Your powers have grown, demigod," he said.

Percy smiled, "Would you like a demonstration?" The manticore tilted his head to the side confused.

Percy's eyes flickered and he raised a hand. The manticore started tensing up. He whimpered and writhed in pain. He let out a cry as he clutched his head with his paws. Percy smirked as he stared at the monster in agony. He walked towards him calmly and tilted his head.

"I'm not the same as I was four years ago," he said. He raised his hand and the blood in the manticore boiled. The monster howled in pain as he started trembling. Percy clenched his fists and Dr Thorn let out one final roar before exploding into golden dust. Percy kicked at the shiny sand.

"Useless, manticore," he mumbled before walking on.

Along the way, he had killed many other monsters in ways unimaginable. After a while, no monsters seemed to approach him. He let out a dangerous aura within a few miles radius. He didn't mind since he wasn't being bothered. But of course, that never works.

He was walking along the River of Phlegethon when he felt a familiar presence. He hasn't felt it since he was sixteen. He continued walking knowing that the Titan was nearing him by the second.

He stopped and the Titan stopped. Percy turned around and stared at him. "What?" He snapped. The golden-eyed titan raised an eyebrow in amusement. Percy had definitely changed since he last saw the demigod.

"Why would a demigod like you be in Tartarus?" He asked and took five steps forward.

Percy stayed at where he was as he stared at the titan. "I was banished," he said dryly.

Kronos raised an eyebrow. "Banished?"

"No, I came down to Tartarus for a stroll," he said sarcastically.

"Still with the sarcasm." Another figure appeared beside the youngest titan. The Lord of the East was dressed in his blazing golden armour. A wicked grin on his face as he stared at the demigod. He had gotten rid of his beard since the last time Percy saw him.

"Yeah and?" He asked and crossed his arms.

"Why were you banished?" He asked curiously. Percy snorted and glared at him.

"I killed someone." What an unexpected twist in events. A hero of Olympus killing someone? That was a first.

"If I asked who it was, will it be personal?" Kronos asked as he stared at the shorter male. Percy stared back into his golden eyes not backing down.

"Jason Grace."

"That sky spawn?" Another being appeared beside them. The Lord of the South had an amused expression on his face.

"Is there any more titans that are gonna appear?" Percy asked irritated. Kronos stared at him amused. Percy needed to get the hell out of there in order to fulfil his promise.

"Why are you in such a hurry?" He asked amused. Percy rolled his eyes and walked off. The three titans stared at the leaving demigod surprised. Percy prayed that they left him alone but of course, he always seemed to capture powerful beings' attention.

He brisk walked away but Kronos appeared in front of him. He glared at him harshly. "What? Stalking me now?" He snapped. The Titan of Time chuckled and stared at his dark green orbs.

"Just curious," he said and shrugged.

"Well, can you be curious somewhere else?" He asked and walked past the titan.

Kronos grabbed his arm and Percy stopped. A strange feeling ran through him as the titan's hand grabbed his arm. Percy didn't face him as he stopped walking.

"I know about your plans of going against the gods," he said. Percy spared him a glance sideways.

"So?" He asked.

Kronos smirked knowing he got the demigod's attention. "I am ... offering my alliance," he said. Percy raised an eyebrow.

Should he accept? He could have a titan's help in taking down the gods but he could also have the possibility of being backstabbed. Honestly, he was already powerful enough to protect himself. He didn't feel scared of them anymore.

"Fine."

Over the next few days, Percy followed the titans through Tartarus. They said they knew where the doors of Death was. The demigod was seriously rethinking their sense of direction. They had been walking around in circles. He had passed by the same area he marked the last time he was here. It was a carving of an omega sign on the rock. The Titans didn't seem to notice it anyway.

"Are you lost?" He asked. Krios snorted and stared at the demigod.

"I do not get lost," he said and glared at him. Percy glared right back at him.

He walked in another direction completely ignoring Krios' rising aura. He pushed a few other vines blocking an entrance. He stared at the titans before walking through the opening.

"Are we seriously following that sea spawn?" Krios asked. Kronos and Hyperion stared at him.

"You were going in circles for like ten times," Hyperion stated. Kronos nodded his head and Krios stared at his brothers surprised. In the end, they followed Percy through the opening.

<>

Percy led their expedition as he pushed past curtains of ivy and trudged through the Pit. He had been on this path before. With Bob.

Percy clenched his fists and continued walking. Suddenly, he heard hissings and he tensed.

Perseus Jackson. We meet again.

Percy whipped out Riptide and the bronze sword glistened in the dark environment. A few figures appeared a few feet in front of him. He narrowed his eyes at them. "The last time we met, it wasn't good, so do tell why you're here again?" He asked and pointed Riptide at them.

The Arai approached him and tilted her head. You have suffered. Percy tensed and clutched his sword tightly. He had hoped that maybe they wouldn't know about it. But when your a spirit of curses, you tend to know about a lot of stuff. The Arai stood up straight and stared at him.

No curses shall befall on you for now. You might be the saviour the world needs one last time. Her voice was calm and somewhat hopeful. What did she mean that he was their saviour? He was done playing the hero. He had a taste of it and hated it.

"I'm done playing the hero. If you knew what happened, you should know why," he snapped. The Aria stared at him unfazed as he glared at her. She felt a wave of empathy for him as flashes appeared in her head.

The titans stared at them confused. What did the Arai mean by he has suffered? What could the hero of Olympus possibly suffer from? He should be worshipped by the demigods and maybe even the gods. They thought back to the demigod he had killed. They knew that it was related but they couldn't figure out the bigger picture.

We shall leave you, demigod. The whole world is counting on you. The Arai and her sisters disappeared in a flash of smoke. Percy clutched his weapon so tightly that his knuckles turned white.

He didn't want to play hero again. That was what got him into this mess the first place. Playing the villain was easier. "What did the Arai mean by that?" Hyperion asked curiously.

"It means playing the villain is easier than the hero," he said before walking off.

<>

The son of Poseidon sat beside the River of Phlegethon. The fire crackling somehow brought a soothing feeling throughout him as he listened to it. The three titans sat further away from him noticing his discomfort. "What do you think the Arai meant?" Krios asked his brothers. Hyperion shrugged his shoulders.

Kronos looked at him in curiosity. How much has happened since he was in Tartarus? Percy was definitely different. He was stronger and this time, guarded. He could see a wall surrounding his heart and mind. What of the wisdom spawn? The titan lord stood up and walked towards the demigod.

Percy glanced back at the river as he slipped out Riptide. It belonged to Zoë. She was a hero, a great one. He could never be a hero like her. He stared at the fire in the river. "Return to your owner. Tell her that I'm sorry. I'm not a hero," he said and threw into the fire.

The magical pen flew into the fire burning up into smoke. He watched as the smoke formed into a constellation before disappearing. Percy wiped his eyes as he remembered she had sacrificed herself to save them. People who were not worth saving.

Kronos sat beside him and watched the smoke disappear into the atmosphere. "You returned your weapon," he said. Percy nodded his head.

"It deserved a better owner. Zoë was a great hero," he said. He could still hear her talking and her foreign accent that made her unique.

"What did the Arai meant when they said you suffered?" He asked.

Percy stared at the flames dancing across the river as he thought about what to say. "After you were defeated, another war happened." Kronos raised an eyebrow.

"It was against your mother," he said and glanced at him sideways. He nodded his head. Gaia was enraged when they were defeated but he didn't know she would want to rise because of that.

"Seven of us were prophesied to stop the Earth from rising. Jason, Piper, Leo, Hazel, Frank, Annabeth and me. A lot happened and it ended up with one of us almost dying. I thought everything was finally over. Peace was ours," he said and stared up at the red sky. He didn't know why he was telling Kronos of all people about this.

"I didn't get the peace I wanted." His eyes darkened as he recalled what they did to him.

Before he could stop himself, he was already telling him about everything. What they did to him that caused him pain and suffering. He was scorned and unwanted by everyone. The people who cared for him were already dead and will never return.

Kronos felt something stir in him as his eye twitched. How could they just cast him aside like he was nothing? Sure, he may have hated the demigod for not letting him rise and conquer Olympus but it still wasn't fair.

"Will you take down Olympus?" Percy asked suddenly.

Kronos stared at him in a new light. "If it makes you happy, then yes," he said. Percy's lip tilted upwards. He was finally having his last wish come true. Maybe just maybe after this, he could finally live peacefully.

A few weeks passed and the four immortals had spent time together in Tartarus. It was intriguing. Three titans and an immortal demigod spending time together. Every day, Percy got to learn something new about each of them too. Krios was a romantic, Hyperion hated his titles and Kronos likes classical music.

It didn't seem like the other two had noticed but Kronos and Percy were closer. They spent time together and eventually got to know each other better too.

Percy found himself laughing and smiling more often with him rather than his 'friends'. It was a different feeling compared to the one he had with Annabeth. The two would always walk or sit close to each other unconsciously. Their fingers brushed past each other's once and Percy felt electricity run through his entire body.

He couldn't possibly be falling for the Lord of Time, right?

They finally reached the Doors of Death. The doors were exactly how they looked like two years ago. An elevator with a button inside and outside. "Brother!" Loud footsteps came running towards them as they clapped each other's backs. Percy backed away and crossed his arms. All the male titans were here and he felt a little unsafe.

"You made it!" Koios said and grinned.

"And look who came along as well," he said and turned around. Behind him stood the giants. Percy tensed when he saw Polybotes sniffing the air.

"I smell the sea spawn. His sense is strong. Stronger and different," he said. Percy backed away and thought that maybe allying himself with the Titans was a bad idea. He was about to successfully back away when he bumped into someone. His demigod senses started flaring and running wild.

He didn't need to think twice to know who's aura it was. He had only ever met the primordial once but it was enough. Tartarus stood behind him as he turned around again. His luck was getting from bad to worse by the second. "If it isn't the son of Poseidon." His voice was still the same as the last time, low, smooth and dangerous.

Percy swallowed thickly as he backed away. The Titans and giants' attention shifted to him and he tensed. He backed away from both parties and wanted nothing more than to run away now. Kronos noticed his discomfort and was about to step forward but something else wrapped itself around the demigod.

Percy stared at the shadows confusedly. "My my, didn't you and that girl say you were tourists? Came to visit again?" He'd recognised that voice too. Nyx, the primordial of the Night, stood there with a fascinating gleam in her eyes.

"No," he said slowly, his eyes fleeting from her to Tartarus to the titans and giants.

"What then? I sense you're here for other reasons," she said and wrapped an arm around his tensed shoulders.

"Things happen and I don't need to tell you," he said and ducked underneath her arms. He stood away from them as he stared at all of them wearily.

Nyx smiled at him softly before flicking her wrist. A darker version of an iris message appeared in the air. Annabeth stood there with the others laughing at someone. Percy tensed as everything played out again.

"Look at you. I can't believe I dated you!"

"You should have died instead."

"You're nothing but a tool to the gods!"

Kronos saw the fleeting emotions in his eyes and summoned his scythe. He threw it at the iris message making it disappear. The titans - except Hyperion and Krios - were surprised at that sudden action. Percy continued staring at where the iris message was. Flashes ran through his mind as he desperately built back the wall Kronos had helped break down.

Nyx saw him struggle internally and walked forward placing a hand on his shoulder. He pulled back and stared at her. "I can help yo-."

"No, you can't. Even if you do, immortals all want something in return," he interrupted her. His voice breaking a little and it broke Nyx's heart. She had grown somewhat fond of the demigod. She didn't like seeing him so weak and it was all because of those bastard gods.

Percy backed further away from them until he disappeared abruptly. The Titans and giants started shouting. Nyx glared at them and they immediately shut up. She looked at her brother for help. "He is in Damasen's hut. He is hurt, sister," he said worriedly. Nyx stared at Kronos and beckoned him forward. The titan looked at his brothers before following the primordial.

<>

Percy collapsed inside the hut and he pulled his legs to his chest. He squeezed his eyes shut as voices and flashes went by his head. He didn't seem to notice someone else sit beside him though.

Kronos felt his heart twist as he saw the demigod sweat and his face contorted into pain. He closed his eyes and everything went black. When he reopened them, he was in a black abyss and on the ground was Percy. Someone else stood over him and a dagger in their hand.

Fear flashed across his eyes as he raised his arm to his face. Kronos waved his hand just before the dagger embedded himself into the demigod. Percy wrapped his arms around himself as he sobbed.

The titan lord knelt beside him and lifted his chin up. His once-bright sea-green eyes were dull and tiny shattered lines were present in them. The titan lord exhaled through his nose as he stared at the demigod. He didn't understand what was happening but he liked the feeling.

What happened next surprised both of them. Another pair of lips were on his as Percy froze. But not long later, he kissed back. When he pulled away and opened his eyes they were back in Damasen's hut. The titan lord was sitting beside him holding him close. It wasn't a dream.

Percy felt his heart race a thousand miles per hour. He felt electricity run through his body as he stayed in the titan's warm embrace. Kronos had a way of putting him in his place, something none of the gods could ever achieve. It excited and scared the immortal demigod.

"Nyx wanted me to check on you," he muttered out. Percy felt blood rush up to his face as he stared at the golden orbs. He could only nod his head in reply since his whole body felt numb.

Kronos stood up and left the hut after a while. Percy was still sitting on the floor as he wiped his tear-streaked face. His mind went back to the kiss and he was blushing. The more he thought about it, the redder his face was. He sighed and leaned his head against the wall.

What was he doing? He had entered Tartarus with only one goal in mind; rid the world of the gods once and for all. The Titans interfering with his plans wasn't part of them but they had offered an alliance. What he didn't predict was to fall for the titan of time. Things went downhill very quickly as he spent more and more time in Tartarus. How was he going to cope with this now?

The walls around his heart and mind seemed to break brick by brick every time he saw Kronos. The harder he tried to build back the wall, the faster it fell for him. Things were so simple in the beginning. He closed his eyes and let out an exhausted breath.

"Are you alright?"

He opened his eyes and stared at the primordial of the Night. He nodded his head timidly and glanced back down at the ground. She sat on the bed beside him and looked down at him. "I mean what I said. I do want to help you. It is not fair for you to be treated like this," she said warmly. Percy fiddled with the hem of his shirt as he continued staring at the ground.

"Would you mind if I adopted you?"

Percy's head shot up and stared at her confusedly and curiously. Why would the primordial want to adopt him? It wasn't like he was anyone important.

"You are important," she said as if she could read his mind. He raised an eyebrow.

"I don't need to read your mind to know what you're thinking, Perseus," she said kindly.

He nodded his head shyly and glanced back at the ground. "Percy. I prefer Percy," he muttered quietly. Nyx beamed at him and hugged him. He tensed but slowly relaxed in her warm embrace.

She let go and kissed his head. A dark glow surrounded him before it disappeared. When Percy stared back at her, he felt a wave of comfort wash over him. Nyx held her hand out and a black ring with a thin gold ring in the middle rested in it.

"As your new mother, I would like to gift this to you." Before he could protest, she gave him a look.

"This is Ephialtes. It was created from the deepest part of Tartarus. Don't tell my brother, I made this without his permission," she said and winked. Percy smiled as the greek word came easily to him. Nightmare. She handed it to him and he took it gently. He slipped it on and it fitted perfectly.

"Like your previous sword, Anaklumos, it will return to you," she said. Percy nodded his head and twisted it.

A black double-bladed sword appeared in his hand. It was perfectly balanced in his hand. Golden curved lines were printed onto the ends of both blades. It was beautiful and dangerous. He smiled and turned it again. It transformed back into his ring.

"Thank you," he said and smiled at her. Nyx combed his short black hair to the back and smiled warmly too.

"The Mansion of Night is always open to you," she said. He nodded his head and hugged her. She hugged him back tightly.

"Now, go and get rid of those pesky gods," she said and smirked. Percy smiled widely and decided to try something new. Since he was the son of Night, maybe he could travel using the shadows. He closed his eyes and felt his whole body dissolve and become nothing before reforming. When he opened his eyes, he was standing in front of all of them.

He smiled sheepishly at them. Nyx appeared beside him and beamed proudly at him. "Now, brother, if you don't mind. They will be leaving. My son will be needing his revenge," she said and placed both her hands on his shoulders. Tartarus smiled and nodded his head.

He waved his hand and the Doors of Death opened by themselves. The Titans and giants took their turns taking the elevator. Percy turned to his mother and gave her one last hug. "You're different from the gods," he said. She chuckled and smiled knowingly.

"Now, are you going to take the elevator or shadow travel out of here?" She asked. Percy's eyes twinkled mischievously and decided the latter option. This time, he saw his surroundings dissolve before reforming. He was back in Epirus.

"You look different." Percy turned around and smirked letting his aura run wild. He snickered at their suddenly pale expression. A smile appeared on Kronos' face as he watched the son of Night toy with them.

Percy caught Kronos staring and felt his face grow red. "Where to now?" Porphyrion asked.

Everyone turned to Percy. "New York, Empire State building."

In a flash, everyone was there. Percy stared up at the building. He was back and he was back with revenge.

He felt fingers brushed past his and glanced sideways. Kronos stood beside him and stared up at the building. "I think it's time we fulfilled Luke's request," he said. Kronos raised an eyebrow.

"And what's that?"

A dark gleam flashed across his eyes.

"Brick by brick."
