My first night in the Argo 2 felt odd, it's not every day a group of seven guys your age land a flying ship only you can see and reveal you that you're a demigod, and offer you to John them in their travel to fight evil; it was the only occasion I had to understand who I really was and also leave the static provincial hellhole I lived in most of my childhood.

I followed them, made the big choice, and now I was laying in bed, still awake, wondering if I made the best choice or the worse mistake in my life, when the clock hit one in the morning I understood I wasn't getting any sleep and opted to just take a walk and see if anyone else had my same problem, the rational part of my mind doubted it considering what Leo told me about the Argo 2 being able to shift to self pilot, but something pulled me along the corridors, I found myself in the command room, much to my surprise I wasn't alone, checking on some machinery was Leo Valdez, the funny and flirty son of Hephaestus who built the Argo 2 from celestial bronze scraps, I too liked to project gadgets but I always struggled with putting them together, so I really admired how effortlessly he managed to do it.

"You know you don't have to stand there, right? Come in, if you're interested I can show you how it works" I heard him saying without taking his eyes off the cogs he was fiddling with, I gladly accepted the invitation and sat on the ground with him, normal mechanics and magi-meccanic might be different but there are still common elements "is this a cooling system?" I asked, pointing at the mechanism under the transparent pavement, Leo looked up at me stunned for a second "yeah, and we risk having a leak of cooling material, I've got a temporary solution, but it's not bound to hold up more than a few days, we need a large sheet of celestial bronze to fix it permanently" he said, pointing at what he just fixed "and how do you plan on find it?" I asked, still struggling to notice the difference between magic metal and normal metal "oh, I built a radar that can spot it from about a thousand miles, I already found one big enough for this purpose, that's where we're headed, at the speed we're going we should reach it tomorrow morning"

I trusted Leo's calculations but my mind went automatically to check: I visualised what looked like an orographic version of the ship, calculated the speed at which we were travelling considering the air resistance, the distance Leo had put into the monitor, and obtained the exact time of travel "7 hours, 58 minutes and 12 seconds now" I replied just an instant before the same time appeared on Leo's monitor, I learned only earlier this morning that was a special power, I always thought it was just my imagination being really fervid and academically oriented, Annabeth told me I had about a 95% probability to be a daughter of Athena just like her "dang, quicker than festus? Where have you been all my scholastic life?" He said vibe checking me, I just chuckled, it had only been a day yet I felt like we'd been friends for a lifetime, I've never felt at ease like that with anyone I met so soon. We stood up, checking the situation for another hour or so before getting some sleep.

In the morning we all woke up and had breakfast together, Annabeth arrived a bit late, with already a perfect division of the teamwork,
Hazel and I were supposed go grab the sheet of celestial bronze alone, so we headed out with the radar and our weapons, we walked together in the direction pointed by the radar, it lead to a small glade near a stream of water, there was a man, or so he looked like, starring down at his own reflection in the water.

"Narcissus..." I thought out loud, already annoyed, I'd already met my fair share of narcissists and already wished i never did, I was facing the final boss that named the people who ruined my life, hopefully he wouldn't even look at us, too busy starring at his own face, hopefully he wouldn't be bothering us in our search "Hazel, can you hand me the radar? Let's leave before he gets his head out of his ass and attacks us" she shook her head showing me the monitor "I'm afraid we ain't going anywhere" the radar signaled a spot right in front of the guy, he wasn't mirroring himself in the river, he was using celestial bronze, yes, the magic metal we needed, fml.

"Do we really have to interact with him?" I asked, already sensing trouble "I guess we do, come on, let's go" we made our way through the swarm of swooning nymphs, looking at Narcisso in awe, I still hadn't seen his face but I'll admit I really was curious to see what all the fuss was about. Hazel reached him before I did asking politely " 'scuse me, can we grab that?" Narcisso didn't even look at her directly, he looked at her reflection on the metal sheet "no, you don't need a mirror, not with that face" he. did. NOT.

That's when I finally got a glimpse of his face, and I knew what I had to do "says the guy who's mid" I scoffed, loud enough for him to hear, I was shocked he even knew what it meant but I saw him livid, he shot around looking for who dared defile his little ego "what did you just say about me?" I scanned him up and down "I said you have no right to tell my friend she doesn't need a mirror since you're mid" all his attention was on me, he seemed like he had forgotten his precious mirror, so I motioned Hazel to use this opportunity and drag the bronze away from the scene.

It took me a second to realise he was armed, he had a bow and arrows, they were dusty but still sharp enough to kill me if he wanted to "how dare you, insolent child? My beauty is immortal" Hazel looked at me, gesturing me to leave, we both knew if I did Narciso would have noticed his mirror was missing and followed us to the ship, I had to stay distracting him for now "immortal? More like obsolete"

At Leo's:

Hazel stepped into the room, carrying the celestial bronze Leo needed and the radar, but Y/n was nowhere in sight "Hazel, where's y/n?" Leo asked, helping Hazel with the block "we gotta go help her, she's distracting narciso" Leo's heart skipped a beat "you mean narciso as in the guy who can't stop starring at his reflection?" Hazel nodded, "yep, turns out the celestial bronze you needed was his mirror, I'll tell you the story once we get there, follow me"...

Back at y/n's

I didn't have any way of distracting Narciso anymore, he would have soon discovered his mirror was gone and started attacking me, when suddenly I heard a voice "hold up, she said mid?!?" It was Leo, managing to distract narcissus, yet I bet it wasn't on pourpose "I've had enough of you " he said, looking at the newly appeared figures of Leo and Hazel, his bow still pointed at me "give me back my mirror or she's dead"I froze, I knew the myth well, before becoming a self obsessed delusional idiot he was a formidable archer.

"Alright, don't shoot, you didn't like the prank, we got it" Narciso looke positively flabbergasted "prank? Does it look like a prank?" Leo flashed the so called 'charming smile' and boy oh boy did he give us a show "duh, I mean, have you never heard of god-tube, we're THE most famous prank channel" narciso stepped closer "then give it back" I caught Leo's draft "we already did, don't forget you're dealing with professionals in the field, your mirror is right where you left it, my friends put it back when you were to busy arguing with me, look at it" when narciso got distracted and looked at the river Leo ran forward and kicked him with enough force to push him in the water, I was left stunned, paralysed, Leo grabbed my hand and pulled me along with him, we ran straight to the Argo 2 followed by a swarm of angry nymphs.

The others were waiting for us, as soon as Hazel, Leo and I jumpt on the ship he pressed the emergency button and the ship immediately shut and departed, the ground beneath us shook violently, sending me straight in Leo's arms "woah, ask me out to dinner first" he mumbled, I flicked his forhead jokingly saying "you're a dumbass Valdez" he massaged his forhead, answering "ouch, I might be a dumbass but you got your ass saved by a dumbass, so you're not any better miss daughter of Athena" dang, the dumbass knew how to pull punches, I'll admit is not much in character for me but I was starting to like him.

"Real funny dumbass, but don't we have something to fix?" "You mean I have something to fix" I shook my head "nope, you heard me well, I said we, if I let your slow-ass do the calculation part the ship'd still be broken by the time Gaea killed us all" I pulled him along to the command room "besides, I don't really do dinner dates, we're gonna have to get a bit more creative"
