17. Blinding Flashes and a Damaged Son of The Sea
*Steve*
I was sitting beside Percy, trying to help him in any way that I could. Next thing I knew, there was a blinding flash of light and someone ran forwards.
"My son! How is he?" The man, Poseidon I presume, asked me.
"I'm sorry, it appears that he is dying. But he is immortal, how can he die?" I asked. I had been asking myself that question since Percy started dying.
"There are ways" Percy's father, Poseidon, I presume said grimly.
"He will be fine, he's gone through worse as a mortal, let alone immortal." I tried to say encouragingly, however I don't think it worked...
"As weird as it may sound, it's easier to die when your immortal. Even through they are only 5 things that can kill you, it's easier to get those things." Poseidon explained.
"Close your eyes." Poseidon said. I had no idea why but I did it anyway.
"Hades, what are you doing here?" Poseidon said with a weak voice. His hair, now turned grey and his facial features gaining age rapidly since... Since his seen his dying sons body.
"Brother, clear your mind. You know there might be a way to save Percy." The other man, Hades I presume said.
Wait... Hades!
As in god of the underworld!
Oh god... if he's come for Percy...
Hades looked at me.
"You must be Steve?" He looked back to Poseidon, not really acting about my answer. "Yes anyway, Poseidon. All of the Olympians need to give him their blessing. Am I correct in thinking you already have?" Hades asked.
"Yes, of course." Poseidon replied. "He's my son." Hades nodded and started chanting in another language.
One by one, 10 of the Olympians came, not including Poseidon. The last god to come was Zeus, King of the Gods and God of the Sky.
Suddenly Zeus appeared. He looked deep in thought, as if their was a debate going in inside his head. However, At this point in time, I couldn't see anything to debate about. Percy was a Hero. And for once, this Hero needed help. It wasn't too much too ask.
"Brother, quickly! He hasn't got long!" Poseidon called from Percy's side.
Zeus walked over to us and started chanting.
"Αυτό ήρωας έχει αποδειχθεί ότι είναι όλοι να μπορούν, όπως ο πόλεμος έρχεται τον χρειαζόμαστε. Εγώ, ο Δίας θεός του ουρανού, βασιλιάς των θεών, δίνουν Percy Jackson ευλογία μου. "
(Translation: This hero has proven to be all he can, as war comes we need him. I, Zeus god of the sky, king of the gods, give Percy Jackson my blessing.)
Once he had finished, Percy's skin returned back to his normal tanned Californian look.
"I must go, the fighting is starting." Zeus said.
I looked down to see Percy's wounds healing, the scars he had all over his body, made visible by the cut t-shirt he was wearing, started to fade.
"Come on, Perce." I whispered, mainly to myself.
Poseidon looked at me.
"Thank you." He said simply. I was confused.
"No problem sir but with all die respect, why are you thanking me?" I asked.
"You and the other Avengers have helped him where we, the gods, could not. The ancient laws forbid us to interfere with the activities of our children. That is one of the reasons that many of our children despise us. I can't help but thinking that if I was there for Percy, he would not be in this situation However, whatever caused this situation, you and the other avengers have helped him. so I thank you." Poseidon finished with tears in his eyes.
To say I was taken back was an understatement.
"It's not your fault, dad. It never has been and never will be. You know me, I would have probably found another way to get into 'this situation'." A voice said.
I looked around confessed. Who said that? The only people left here now was Myself, Poseidon and ...
Percy!
I looked down to see his eyes slightly open.
"Percy! My son! You are ok!" Poseidon said, overjoyed by the thought of his son being ok.
Ok, Percy's ok... Now we just need to deal with the biggest threat yet...
Tartarus.
