Chapter 20: Graduation Pt. 2
I uncapped Riptide as the monsters started to fight the Supernaturals. I couldn't fight in a tux, so I pulled the bead my dad gave me off of my necklace. Once I was in my armor, I jumped off of the stage and sliced through a few dracaena.
I made my way into the crowd, helping the Supernaturals hold off the monsters.
Eventually, I made my way to Kol Mikaelson. He was struggling to do any damage to the monsters. Which wasn't surprising since only a handful of people here could do anything against them. And only two of us had experience, being me and Nico. But he was on the other side of the field, getting the younger kids to safety inside the school.
"Bloody hell! Why can't I kill them?" Kol asked, clearly frustrated.
I stabbed the monster he was fighting in the back and answered, "These are Greek monsters. Only godly metals can kill them."
Kol shrugged it off, "Yeah right. I just need a sword or something."
His guard was down, and a monster was about to attack him for behind. I summoned a lightning bolt, and it struck the monster, killing it instantly.
He was startled by it and jumped, "How'd you do that?"
"Just told you," I replied.
I wanted to continue the conversation, but I was basically fighting an army of monsters by myself.
I found the nearest monster, and killed it with a fireball.
A dracaena lunged at me, but I side stepped and cut it in half.
I fought some more monsters, and eventually there was only a few left.
I wiped some sweat off of my face as I stabbed a monster in the chest.
"Percy," Nico yelled, coming out of the school. "All the kids are safe inside."
I nodded, "Good. Now help me kill all these monsters. I can't kill them all by myself."
Nico shook his head, "We both know that's not true. But yeah, I'll help."
Nico drew his sword and started killing off monsters.
Within a matter of minutes, only a few monsters were left.
As I pulled Riptide out of a monster, there was a flash of light in the corner of my eye.
I looked over and saw someone I never thought I'd see again.
"You thought you could get rid of me? I'm the greatest hero to ever live!" Hercules boasted.
I raised Riptide and retorted, "If you're such a great hero, why didn't the gods make you an Olympian? Oh wait, they don't need a stupider version of Ares."
I know, I just complemented Ares. What has the world come to?
But what I said did have some truth behind it. They're both all brawn, no brains.
Hercules turned red with anger and charged right at me.
I dodged out of the way and slashed him in the back. Nothing happened. It just bounced off of his.
I mentally scolded myself. Hercules was physically stronger than most of the Olympians when he was just another demigod. His skin is naturally like titanium.
"Did you really think such a puny sword could hurt me?" Hercules laughed.
I said, "This 'puny sword' used to be yours."
Hercules threw a punch at my face, and I tried to block it with Riptide. Key word: tried.
Riptide flew out of my hands and landed in the grass, forty feet away from me. If it weren't for Hephaestus' upgrades, Riptide would be shattered.
Hercules threw another punch, this time at my face.
I ducked out of the way and ran towards Riptide.
I grabbed it off of the ground, and starting sprinting towards Nico.
Without his help, I would have no chance at beating Hercules.
"Nico," I yelled, "HELP!"
Nico looked back at me and his eyes widened. He muttered, "Dammit, Perce."
I stopped right next to Nico and panted.
Nico got in a defensive position as Hercules ran closer to us. He asked, "How'd he get out?"
I shrugged, "No idea."
Hercules came right at me at fifty miles an hour.
BANG!
Next thing I knew, I flew into the podium.
I could see people looking at Hercules, absolutely terrified.
As I got back onto my feet, I saw Nico laying on the ground, unconscious.
Hercules made his way towards the Supernaturals that were still on the field. I couldn't let him hurt them.
Then, I remembered something Nico said, "'I don't think even Zeus has a divine form that powerful!'"
If that was true, I could use it to defeat Hercules. But, there were too many people around. They would all die. I had to get Hercules away from them and into the woods.
I threw a fireball at the back of his head.
He immediately turned and glared at me. He complained, "Why don't you ever give up?"
I taunted, "You just didn't hit me hard enough."
Hercules growled, "You're a dead man!"
With that, Hercules started sprinting at me.
I turned around and hit the jets.
I didn't stop until we far away from the school.
As soon as I stopped, he tried to tackle me.
I side stepped out of the way and pulled out Riptide.
Hercules came right at me, but I underestimated his speed. He punched me into a tree.
Riptide fell out of my hands, again. But it was okay, since I didn't need it.
I concentrated on Hercules' breathing. I focused on slowing it, and then stopping it. I felt a wave of energy burst from my body.
I looked at Hercules lying on the ground, covered in burns.
He gathered what ever strength he could and made one final effort to knock me out with a punch to the face.
I ducked and pulled out my wand.
"STUPEFY!" I yelled.
Hercules instantly dropped down onto the ground, motionless.
I lowered my wand and doubled over, panting.
"I guess he didn't need our help after all," A voice said from behind me.
Startled, I turned around and pointed my wand at the person who talked.
It was my dad. With Zeus.
I put my wand into my pocket and said, "Nice to see that you care about me."
Zeus replied, "Of course we do."
"I was being sarcastic."
I continued, "Now if you excuse me, I have my graduation to attend."
Zeus and my dad walked over to Hercules and picked him up.
I looked back, "What are you gonna do with him?"
My dad said, "If Tartarus couldn't hold him, there's only one punishment left."
I looked at Hercules lying unconscious, and defenseless. No matter what he's done, he doesn't deserve to be faded.
I faded Kronos because there was no other option. I was weaponless, and his scythe was the only thing in reach.
But I wasn't in that situation now. I said, "No you won't."
My dad asked, "What?"
I said, "There's another option. One that would punish him a lot more, without killing him."
Zeus was intrigued. "I'm listening."
After I told them my idea, making Hercules a clear sighted mortal without any of his godly abilities, I limped my way back to the Salvatore School.
I walked through the main entrance and was immediately tackled by Hope.
"Owww! Easy."
Hope kissed me and said, "You deserve that for ruining our graduation. Speaking of, is this gonna happen at every special occasion?"
I shrugged, "If I'm there... probably. But you'll be able to handle it."
She asked, "And why is that?"
I smirked, "Because you love me."
With that, I pulled her into another kiss.
AN: That's it for Book 2. I decided to add the third book on to this book, so this will be a 2-in-1. Now that school's started, expect a new chapter every month. If I have the time, I might be able to update twice, but no promises. Thank you for all the support and I hope you enjoy the next book.
