Chapter 17: The Prisoner
One Month Later
"After the rise of the Roman Empire, the Greek Gods continued to be worshiped, however, they were given different names and slightly different personalities." Dorian explained.
I know what your thinking. Why continue with Greek Class, especially after they know you're dad is a Greek God? Well, it's because it's the only class I can get an A in.
Dorian continued, "Some gods like Ares gained more respect in their Roman counterparts, while others like Poseidon, had other domains become more dominant."
Dorian glanced at me before saying, "For example Neptune, the Roman version of Poseidon, was looked more as the god of horses than the Sea."
Before he could say anything else, there was a knock on the door. Jason opened the door and said to Dorian, "I need to talk to Percy, Hope, and Nico."
Dorian, not wanting to upset a god, quickly nodded.
We followed Jason into the hallway and he said, "We found Hercules. Percy, Nico, the Olympians are about to capture him at Polyphemus' island. Since you've been there before..."
He trailed off.
"They want me as their guide." I assumed.
Jason nodded, "Yeah."
"Sure," I said, "I'll go. I just want to see his face when we take him and his Rebellion to Tartarus."
Nico nodded too, "Why not."
Hope looked at me and said, "Make sure that son of a bitch gets what he deserves."
"I will," I replied.
We appeared on Polyphemus' island, on the beach. Some of the Olympians along with Piper were already here. The Olympians were Artemis, Apollo, and my dad.
My dad said, "Percy, how have you been? I saw what you told your mother."
He put a hand on my shoulder and said, "What you did was something only a true hero would do. You put others in front of yourself. No matter how hard it was to do."
I smiled before Artemis said, "We better get going. Hercules could very well know we're here."
My dad nodded, "Show us the way, son."
I lead them farther into the island, until we reached the boulder that was the entrance to Polyphemus' cave.
Jason and Apollo lifted the boulder out of the way so we could get in.
We each took out our weapons and made our way in.
Thirty feet from the entrance was the decaying corpse of Polyphemus. Every now and then, I'm reminded why Hercules was considered to be the greatest Mythological hero.
Standing ten feet away from the corpse was Hercules. He put his hands up and said, "You found me a lot faster than I expected."
I retorted, "Well, you are pretty stupid."
My dad said, "Enough. Hercules, you have been charged with kidnapping and attempting to overthrow us Olympians."
Hercules said, "Well, let's get this over with. Shall we?"
Piper flashed behind him and quickly put Imperial Gold handcuffs on him. She said, "These handcuffs were made by Hephaestus to contain gods. With these on, you're as powerful as an average mortal, so I wouldn't try anything."
All he said was, "Very well."
We lead him out of the cave and onto the beach.
My dad said, "Percy, you may go back to the Salvatore School now. Hercules will stand trial for his crimes in a matter of hours. His fate is now in the Council's hands. However, you can witness the "
I nodded, "I'll come with you."
Before my dad could respond, Hercules whispered to me, "Did you really think that this rebellion would be over this quickly? My capture was a distraction so my forces could attack your new school. I heard that you've grown quite attached to that place. Or a student."
My eyes widened as I realized what he said.
Nico and Jason must've heard that too because they had the same reaction I did.
Before anyone could ask what he said, we flashed back to the Salvatore School.
There was destruction everywhere. The trees surrounding the school had fallen down, and parts of the main building were on fire.
Inside, I heard the screams of the students.
