Percy doesn't actually tune Annabeth out when she rants about architecture. He tries not to at least. Sometimes he drifts off but tries really hard to pay attention. He doesn't know what she's talking about half the time but still listens because it makes her happy. And as long as Annabeths happy, Percy's happy. He also now knows a lot of random architecture facts. Like how different style of pillars affect the stability of the building.
