CHAPTER 8- Capture the Flag
It was a Friday and with Fridays came Capture the Flag.
The original teams were going to be Athena.vs.Ares but since we came along unexpectedly, it was now Chaos's Army.vs.The Whole Of Camp Half Blood.
'Cause we're just that awesome.
Beckandorf, Luke and I were going to play defence. The others were going to try and get the flag. It wasn't much of a plan but that was how we rolled. Just go with what your tummy says.
And right now, my tummy was saying it needed pancakes.
Preferably blue pancakes with lots of blue syrup.
Yum...
Ugh!
Stupid ADHD!
You can't blame me, I was bored. No one was coming to get the dam flag.
Yes. The dam was a flag. The flag was a dam.
I'm bored.
Ladidada- wait! The bushes rustled.
We sprang to our feet and readied our swords, making sure that our hoods covered our faces.
We expected a bunch of campers or even some monsters but only one person came out of the tree clump.
One look at her determined grey eyes, I knew that I was dead meat.
Annabeth smirked and readied her dagger.
"Hello soldiers." She taunted.
"Hello Miss Chase." I said uncapping Riptide behind my back so that she wouldn't see.
Without another word, she launched herself at me.
I blocked it just in time. Annabeth struck again and I twisted our locked swords in an attempt to disarm her but she saw right through my little trick and puled away, preparing to stike again.
Beckandorf just watched us amused. Luke looked conflicted with joy since he had provided the both of ua with our first sword fighting experiences.
Annabeth fought madly and it didn't take her long to figure out my ultimate Greek and Roman fighting combo.
After she figured it out, she quickly disarmed me and put her knife to my throat, gripping my right wrist to make sure I didn't run away.
Ignoring the sparks running up my arm, I smirked at her.
I slipped my free hand into my pocket and retrieved Riptide, put it behind my back again and uncapped it.
I brought it out and put it behind her neck swiftly.
Annabeth didn't move her dagger from under my chin.
Bekandorf and Luke were still standing there, leaning casually on their swords.
"Ladies and Gentlemen," Luke announced. "It is time to see who shall decapitate whom."
I saw Annabeth's gaze flicker over my shoulder and she smirked.
She directed her attention to me again and smiled sweetly.
"You have your cloak on so I don't know who you are." She said. "But tell me, are you a guy?"
"Um...yes..." I said hesitantly.
"Good." She smirked and kneed me where the sun doesn't shine.
She didn't even kick that hard but still...
Let's just say it really hurt. I groaned and dropped my sword accidently. Annabeth smirked and removed her knife from under my chin in triumph.
"I believe we won." She said victoriously.
I looked behind me, where Luke and Beckandorf where staring awestruck at the place where our flag had been moments ago.
"Styx!" I groaned, slapping myself continuously. "Idiot. Idiot."
A cheer arose through the woods and someone ran into view: Ethan carrying the other team's flag.
(A/N I just realised that I fogot Ethan and now im beating my self up. Lets just pretend he was here through out the whole story. I'll go back and change the chapters to include him.)
Wait, what?
"We won!" Ethan screamed.
Annabeth gawked. Luke, Beckandorf and I smirked.
I turned to Annabeth and snapped my fingers in a z in front of her face. "Boo yeah! Take that, Chase! We won!"
"And you call yourself Chaos's Commander?" Annabeth demanded, a smile tugging at her lips.
"Actually, yes." I said. "I'm just too awesome."
"Keep telling yourself that then. Congratulations by the way." She held out a hand and being the stupid person I am, I shook it.
She grasped it tightly and judo flipped me. Surprise surprise.
She smirked and stood up, leaving without another word, spinning her knife for good measure.
It was silent for a while and then my friends burst out laughing.
"You just-" Luke gasped in between breaths. "Got Judo Flipped by a girl! Oh man!"
"Not the first time." I grumbled and got up. "Seriously. That girl's got a habit for injuring me."

It was night, but I couldn't sleep. So I decided to pay a visit to the fireworks beach. It was quiet and the night was silent and comforting.
I thought it would be empty but there was someone there already.
Annabeth was sitting on the sand, silently staring out at the crashing waves, tears rolling down her cheek.
Beside her was Arial, curled up at her side. Annabeth was running a hand through Arial's black locks.
Arial looked up. "Mommy, are you crying?"
"I'm fine, sweetie." Annabeth whispered, smiling comfortingly.
Arial smiled and placed her head on Annabeth's lap again.
"Can you weed me a bedtime stowie?" Arial asked.
"Yeah, okay." Annabeth agreed. "Once upon a time, there lived a beautiful maiden girl named Cinderella."
"No!" Arial protested. "I wanna hear the one about Bobby!"
"Bob." Annabeth corrected naturally, with a small laugh. "Okay, so once upon a time, there lived a girl and a boy. These two people loved each other a lot. They completed each other. They were each other's other half."
"Soul mates?" Arial questioned.
"Yes." Annabeth agreed. "These two people-"
"What were their names?" Arial asked again.
"Uh...Perry Johnson and Annie Choose." Annabeth said, making me smile. "So Perry Johnson and Annie Choose went for a walk and Annie tripped. She fell over a hill. But Perry caught hold of her. They were dangling over a small ledge and-"
"Did Perry let go?!" Arial asked in panic.
"Yes. He let go of the ledge." Annabeth said.
Arial looked like she was trying to solve a maths problem. "But...wouldn't they both fall then?" She asked.
"Yes. That's why he did it. Because he loved her too much to leave." A tear trickled down her cheek. "They fell down into a horrible, dark place. The grass was made of glass and there was fire river."
Arial gasped melodramatically -even though I had the feeling she had heard this story before.
"And then these old grannies came at them and started smacking them with their walking sticks. They cast a spell on Annie and made her blind. They made her believe that Perry had left her. And they cursed Perry to get poisoned. He was dying. They crackled evilly and went away. Then a big giant came. His name was Bob.
"He touched Annie's forehead and said, Owie and healed her but he couldn't save Perry so he took them to another giant named Damasen. Dames cured Perry and he and bob took Perry Johnson and Annie Choose out of the evil place. And they all danced amongst the daisies after that."
"To which song did they dance to?" I asked, coming out of the shadows and sitting down beside them.
"Omeeeega!" She shouted and tackled me in a hug, stumbling over her little feet.
"Hey, Arial!" I said, as she threw her arms around my neck.
"Mommy was just telling me a story!" She said excitedly.
"Mommy?" I raised an eyebrow at Annabeth a which of course she couldn't see because of my hood - trying to act natural.
"She just calls me that sometimes." Annabeth whispered to me, smiling at Arial.
"Omeeeeeega? Can I call you daddy?" Arial asked me, giving me her big puppy dog eyes.
"Uh..." I glance at Annabeth nervously. She just shrugged but looked away pointedly. "Okay. Um...sure." I said.
"Yay!" Arial said. "Daddy!"
She looked at Annabeth and crossed her small arms over her chest. "You should marry him so he can actually be my daddy."
Annabeth laughed without humour. "Ah, no. Do you want to go play in the sea?"
Arial nodded furiously.
Annabeth stood up and helped Ariel to get onto her feet, but before she went she faced me and slipped something out of her bulging pocket. She gave it to me and leaned over.
"Just throw it at Mommy." She whispered and skipped away to Annabeth who was waiting patiently for her.
I looked down at my hands.
It was an apple.
