CHAPTER 12- Revealed

"Hala muya! Bula beeeela! Poppa kola! Elkins peel kings! Yeela yoooaler! By the power of the Universe and the galaxies and the many alien like life forms-"

"Luke-"

"-by the power of the sun and the moon, the Yin and the Yang-"

"Luke-"

"-by the power of Choas himself!"

"Luke!"

"What?" Luke exclaimed as he stopped his dramatic walk around Annabeth, and stood there facing Bianca exasperatedly.

Let me set the scene for you. We were at the Chaos cabin, ready to recruit Annabeth. Luke had insisted on doing it himself. He'd cleared his throat and had started walking around Annabeth in big strides, waving his arms about muttering random nonsense and now here we were. Honestly speaking, Bianca was a life saver.

Annabeth actually looked scared out of her wits and looked like she was going to run away screaming 'Bloody Murder' though I had a hard time picturing this...

"Just take a seat." Zoe said. Luke scowled and sat down on one of the comfy sofas.

"Sorry about that." Selena apologised to Annabeth.

Annabeth stared at Silena. "Do I know you?" She asked. "You sound familiar."

Silena put on a really high pitched fake voice. "Uh. No. No. You don't."

Annabeth raised an eyebrow. "Would I be able to know who my new comrades will be?" She asked.

"Okay." Luke said. "I'm Alpha. She's-"

Annabeth rolled her eyes. "I mean who you really are. Those names are obviously code."

I personally really liked that idea. But I had one worry. If she was going to judo flip me again then...

Right before I could build up my hopes too high, a voice spoke in my head. Chaos.

Do not reveal yourself to her. The others may. You shall not. It is vital that you don't.

It sounded faint and blurry. The volume kept changing to different pitches like there was very little reception but the basic massage was clear.

To say that I was sad would be a very high understatement. I was crushed like a skyscraper had just fallen on me.

That stupid soupy mist.

I locked eyes on all of my friends, one by one. Then at the same time, they all took off their hoods. I kept mine on though.

Annabeth stumbled back in shock. "Oh gods." She muttered. "Oh gods. How- you- Oh my gods. How are you guys-"

Beckendorf smiled at her and put an arm around Silena. Zoe and Bianca looked at her with equally happy looks. Luke just stood there, looking down at his feet shamefully.

Finally he looked up and seeing Annabeth's face, he cracked a grin. "Hey Annie."

Usually, he would've had a broken nose by now, but today she could only gape at him.

"Look, Annabeth. I'm sorry." He said hastily. "I'm sorry for everything. For breaking my promise. For leaving you. For-" Annabeth cut him off by throwing herself at him in a fierce hug.

Then Silena and Bianca ran over and joined them. Beckendorf rolled his eyes and went over to their group hug awkwardly. Zoe just stood there still not used to getting out of her hunter ways until Silena pulled her in.

I smiled at them, happy, and sat down on the sofa. When they finally broke away, Annabeth laughed. "How did you guys-"

"Chaos payed a visit to the Under World. Right when I was about to choose rebirth." Luke said.

Silena came over to me and sat down, taking my hand comfortingly. "Aren't you going to tell her?"

"Chaos forbid me. Apparently, it was vital that I didn't." I muttered.

"I'm gonna kill that-"

I laughed a little at her.

Annabeth came over and sat down cross legged in front of me, her whole face lit up now. Though behind her eyes, some of the pain was still visible.

Silena nudged my side and dutifully got up, leaving for the comfort of Beckandorf's arms.

"And who might you be?"

"Omega." I said.

She raised an eyebrow at me and laughed. "No. Really."

"Just Omega."

Her face fell. Maybe she had been expecting me to say Percy Jackson. "Oh right." She mumbled. "Mind taking off your hood?"

"I can't. It's glued to my face."

She laughed and I couldn't help but smile at that. "Right. And am I going to get one glued to my face?"

I shrugged. "If you want. Do you want to come with me? I have whole collection for newbies."

"Yeah, alright and don't call me a newbie." She said and got up. I lead her upstairs to my room. When I opened the door, she gasped. Whether it was because of recognition or amazement, I wasn't so sure.

It looked just like my room at Chaos's place and felt right at home. Specially because she was with me now, not just an image on a screen I could never reach. But now, Ariel was behind a screen I could never reach.

She walked over and sat down mutely by my bed, staring at the screen adorning one of the walls that depicted Long Island Beech.

"Why do you have that?" She asked.

"It just calms me down. I didn't know it was here before I actually came on this mission. "

She looked around and smiled at the walls, a stray tear falling down her eyes. "Your walls."

"I just like the colour blue." I said.

"Yeah. I like it too." She said.

I smiled and walked over to my closet and slid open the doors. Looking through them, I found the perfect one. Black with a lining at the bottom that looked like it had been braided with silver and sea green silk. And I knew that this cloak had a special power. It could conceal its owner or itself at will. Like, say, a baseball cap that can make blonde girls invisible...if you know what I mean.

I turned around to face her ready to give her the cloak. But as soon as I saw her, I forgot about the cloak.

Annabeth was where she was before but now, she had something in her hands, the framed photo that had cracked earlier on. The one with the both of us in it.

"Where'd you get this?" She croaked out, running her thumb around the fractured lines.

"Uh...Percy. I sort of found it and he gave the photo to me and I just kept it as a reminder." I lied.

She slid the photo out of its frame. "Can I- can I keep it? As a reminder? That he's still alive?"

"Yeah sure." I said, attempting for a smile. She smiled back and put it in her pocket carefully and put the frame back on my bedside table.

"Uh...here's your cloak." I said, reaching out to give it to her. But as I did, it ruffled you my own and out of my pocket, fell something I hadn't thought about for a long time now.
