Endgame

Bang

A gunshot rang out, and as Percy looked up he realised it was not from Ares. In fact, Ares wasn't even holding the gun anymore, it had gone flying out of his hand. As he looked down, he saw Artemis still seated by the broken pillar, pointing her pistol up at him. He saw a smile on her face, before she dropped the gun, too weak to hold it anymore.

Taking the prime opportunity, Percy jumped up and grabbed Ares by the neck, before slamming him down on the glass where Percy once was. Perhaps by a miracle, perhaps by a cruel trick of the Fates, the glass didn't break, and Ares immediately tried to get up.

He knelt down on the god's stomach and punched him in the face. Ares was then grabbed by the shoulders and slammed down. Once, thud. Twice, crack. The glass was nearly shattered, and Percy looked to the hole next to him.

They were right next to one of the stone grilles, and under them was a lock and thick cord, where a chandelier had once hung from. He leaned over and grabbed at the cord through the hole, all the while Ares tried to gain proper consciousness again.

Before the war god could try anything, Percy wrapped the cord around his neck tight. When he felt himself becoming asphyxiated, Ares struggled, grabbing at Percy's neck and digging one hand into his shoulder wound to stun him. With all his strength, Percy fought through it, and finished tying Ares' noose.

As they both fought desperately for survival, Percy grabbed Ares by the shoulders. With his last remaining bout of strength, Percy brought the god up, then slammed him back down upon the glass.

Time seemed to slow down once more as the glass broke, and Ares' screams of defeat rang out. The two glares bore into each other's eyes as they both fell, and when the cord ran out of room, Ares' both snapped still while Percy fell to the ground.

He looked up while the small crystals began to shower over him, and saw the war god's lifeless corpse hanging over him, staring all over the room.
