AUTHOR'S NOTE:

Hi guys. My exams are still going on but I needed a break from studies as this one-shot was clouding my mind.

The title is taken from a Chinese Drama having the same name. it is not the best one that I have seen but it is okay, I guess. I was not getting any better titles. So, I decided to use this one. I have added the link to the drama too. You can watch it if you want as it comes with English subtitles and I also watched using subtitles as I have a petty pennyworth in Chinese.

Pairings: Apollo/Percy

Timeline: After the Trials of Apollo is over. Now don't ask me anything about it as I have still not read that series.

Extra Note: Now, this is important. Percy and Annabeth have broken up after the Heroes of Olympus series. I loathe Percabeth, so its normal....

Now without further delays, let's got to the plot.

At the beach, Camp Half Blood:

Third person POV:

In the beautiful setting of a romantic sunset at the beach of Camp Half Blood, two silhouettes can be seen – two boys leaning against each other in pure bliss.

Apollo POV:

It was the last day of my trials. Tomorrow, it was the winter solstice, and I would regain my godhood. I was happy about it but I was dwelling on how the trials have made me more humane, relighted the humanity and love that I had pushed into the dark depths of my immortal heart. I leaned against Percy. Yes, you got that right. I was leaning against the Two Time Savior of Olympus. Reason? Well, I fell head over heels for him during my trials. It was an amazing experience. I was overjoyed that he reciprocated my feelings but now that I am going to be immortal again, haunts me.

Percy has denied immortality twice and would not hesitate to do so for the third time. But I can't live on after losing another lover and not to mention that curse of Aphrodite that will be active after I gain immortality again.

Time passed swiftly and in the blink of an eye, it was past dinner time.

I gazed at the reflection of the moon in the seawater. My whirlpool of thoughts – about the many people I had failed, cursed, hurt, killed – torturing me. A single tear escaped my eyes. But the son of the Sea noticed it. he broke the comfortable silence, "Polly, we should go now. You need to get up early as tomorrow is the winter solstice."

"I am the god of the Sun, Perce. As if I can be late", I sassed.

We got up and walked to cabin 3. At the door, Percy kissed me goodbye. He was about to close the door when I asked, "Perce, will you accept immortality if the gods asked you for the third time?"

He smiled sadly, clearly knowing my thoughts, "I will never. I can't bear to live on after seeing all my friends and family succumb to death. I really can't, Polly."

I sighed. "It's okay. Good night."

I walked my way to the Big House, dragging my feet and taking my sweet time. My thoughts lingered on Percy. If I become a god, we can't possibly date. Also, he will be in danger and may turn into a plant or a flower. After all my failed love stories of Daphne, Hyacinthus, Admetus, Cyprus, Cassandra and numerous others, I was afraid to love again. But it was Percy who showed me that I deserved a chance, a chance to love, a chance to be loved.

I made my decision. Upon reaching my room, I quickly took some water and threw in a drachma. "Hey, Fleecy, do me a solid. Show me Sally Jackson, New York."

The Iris Message showed the mother of Percy, sitting on her couch and watching the TV. I cleared my throat. It got Sally's attention.

"Lord Apollo." She curt nodded.

"Good night, Mrs. Blofis. I am sorry to call at such a late hour but the matter is of utmost importance."

Talking with Sally gave me the confidence I needed to make my decision. I decided to take a chance, to think of myself and get a better life.

LINE BREAK TO NEXT DAY WINTER SOLSTICE MEETING

Zeus boomed, "Now, the main discussion of this year's meeting is: Should we grant Apollo godhood again? Those who oppose it please raise your hands."

Ares and Hera did. Of course, what else to expect of a bitchy step mother!

"Who are neutral, please raise your hand", daddy dearest asked again.

Hands seen were from Dionysus, Demeter, Athena and Thunderpants himself.

"Now the ones who want my sorry excuse of a son to become a god again, please raise your hands."

Hades, Hestia, Hermes, Poseidon and Artemis quickly raised their hands.

"Well, it seems like this time also you have regained your godhood, son", Zeus spat.

I risked a glance at Percy. His expression flicked to that of sadness and pain but he masked it in the blink of an eye and smiled forcefully.

I cleared my throat, "I refuse godhood."

Everyone's eyes turned on me. When the tension was thick enough to be cut by a knife and the room quite enough for even a mortal to hear a pin drop, Artemis stuttered, "W-what? Why? Then your trials were useless."

"They were not, little sister. They taught me to become a human, to show emotions. I rediscovered myself and learnt humility."

"Apollo, don't be dumb", Demeter chastised.

"I am not being dumb." I was getting annoyed. Why the hell can't they realize that they cannot make me change my decision?

"But you were mortal for almost two years. You have experienced the pain. Are you sure that you can endure that for a lifetime? Is it even worth it?" Hestia asked, concern lacing her voice.

I raised my voice by several octaves, "I will not accept godhood. I want a mortal life, a full and complete one. I swear this on the Styx."

As soon as I took the oath, thunder rumbled and Lady Styx appeared in the room. I fell to one knee immediately.

She asked, "Apollo, are you sure?"

"Yes, My Lady."

"Fine. I see that you're sincere. So, you are now free to live as a mortal, for whatever cause. But I give you my blessings. You will live your mortal life without the interference of the vows and curses you incurred as an immortal and the vows you took before the quest are also declared null and void by me."

She smirked and leant in to whisper in my ear, "Both you and Percy are fertile. So better use condoms. Not that I mind if another member joins the family." With this she disappeared in a puff of smoke.

I blushed and looked around. Gods, I must look like a tomato now. Ironic, as I am really surrounded by Gods now.

The gods were dumbfounded as if the cat got their tongue.

I strolled up to Percy and cupped his face with my hands. "All this for me?", he asked. "Yes, you won't accept immortality. But I can't live without you. You'll give me a chance to love, won't you?" I whispered. He nodded, tears of joy accumulating in his eyes.

He looked so dam hot.... I couldn't control anymore and placed my lips on his. The kiss became hot shortly after it started innocently. Awes and coos were heard in the background, mostly coming from Aphrodite and her children.

A sudden awkward clearing of the throat made us break the kiss.

As always, the party pooper, Poseidon glared at me, "If you dare to hurt him and break his heart, I'll gut you with my trident, chop you into pieces, grind you and feed minced Apollo meat to the sharks of the Atlantis."

"Don't worry uncle Don. I'll rather die than hurt my dear Starfish", I smirked as Percy blushed slightly. Everyone snickered at the nicknames.

"You like it don't you?', I whispered in the ears of my lover. I enjoyed the slight shivering he got from my breath that tickled his neck.

"But why Apollo? And now you better get a room. I don't want to see PDA.", Ares the dumbest God, interrupted our happy moment.

I shook my head. Will my godly family never understand me? They also need to spend time as mortals, I guess.

"Because, LOVE BETTER THAN IMMORTALITY!!!", I screamed before placing a chaste kiss on Percy's lips and dragging him out of the Throne Room, out of Olympus and to his bedroom in the Jackson-Blofis apartment to spend an eventful day.
