The Battle Part 1

I promised myself that I would finish this story before school started again so I have ... like 4 days. I should only have 3 more chapters.

Anyway, here is the story:

----------------------------------------------

Apollo POV

I hear Poseidon mutter about how his son is too young to have seen the things that Percy has seen and I can't help but agree completely. All of our children have to deal with terrors that mortals can't even dream of but Percy... Percy has really seen the worst of our world.

I mean he even fell in Tartarus, even us gods haven't been there (and refuse to go there). Tartarus is the one place that the gods fear, and Percy has survived it.

Anyway after Percy walks away to his position around the camp the gods follow his lead, dispersing to our separate positions.

Now I know what your thinking, 'Why don't you stay in one pack and defeat the monsters together?' Well:

1) the monsters will still be more than us

2) the idea is if I am concentrating on monsters in front and to the left of me, my right side is free. In that case the next god over would cover my right and in front of him, etc.

Also because we gods are just so awesome that we don't need to fight with each other, we can defeat the monsters by ourselves.

I reach my position and I start telepathically talking to Percy.

"Hey, I'm in my position. I should write a haiku about this,

I am Apollo,

I am in my position,

I am so, so cool"

"Yeah, yeah thanks for that Apollo. Wait until I give you the signal okay?"

I smile to myself, someone FINALLY likes my awesome poetry.

I look around and notice that I don't really have anything else to do, so I put some music on inside my head and start dancing.

Suddenly and arrow flys past my head and I dodge just in time. Turning off the music I look to see who would dare and attack me when my eyes land on Artemis, my sister, who is about 50 metres to my right.

I glare at her, and in turn she sends me a message via our twin link.

"Apollo you idiot! Stop dancing like a crazy chicken and TRY to remember that we are in a WAR!"

I huff, but decide to play with my arrows instead of acting like an 'idiot'. Just as I start to clean my tenth arrow I feel a force trying to get into my head. Knowing that it is Percy I let him in.

"Daedalus formation 345, plan start now."

I grin like a child that's just been told christmas has come early, as I walk into the monster camp.

A rustle in the bushes catches my attention as I notch my arrow release it. I watch as that single arrow kills a monster who in turn falls backward and kills two other monsters with the spikes in the monster's back.

I take a look at my surroundings as the monsters start to realize that a god is here and that they should really be fighting instead of hanging up their dirty laundry.

They start to gather about ten metres in front of me and advance upon me. I smile as I walk up to an abandoned open barbeque (wait .. why do the monsters even need to eat food?), out of curiosity I peer inside the barbeque and see ... grilled human heads... yum...

Anyway I pick up the oil that is sitting on the edge of the fire and spill it all over the ground and into the pack of monsters, I then tip over the barbeque.

Running away slightly I turn back and watch as the fire connects with the oil and a huge explosion takes place killing about 50 monsters, next the oil that had run down the hill gets caught on fire and creates a fire wall, killing 100 monsters in its path.

I skip happily along my wall of fire occasionally notching an arrow and killing a few more monsters but it looks like my fire stunt has killed most of the monsters in my area.

I smile with glee humming a happy tune as I head closer and closer to the pit of Tartarus.

Artemis POV

I give my message to Percy to tell him that I am standing in my position when I glance over to see my idiot younger brother, Apollo, dancing around like an idiot.

I notch an arrow and let it fly so that it will land a couple inches to the left of his left ear. Of course he dodges it though.

His confused expression is hilarious until he lands on me and I have to fight to keep a straight face and glare instead of bursting out laughing at his stupid face.

I focus on the twin link and send him a message that I think will make him stop acting so childish.

"Apollo you idiot! Stop dancing like a crazy chicken and TRY to remember that we are in a WAR!"

Luckily he stops dancing and starts playing with his arrows instead, I sigh and go back to sharpening my 5 hidden daggers, and re-checking my bow and arrows.

Suddenly I feel a force nudging at the side of my brain, I let him in because I know it's Percy.

"Daedalus formation 345, plan start now."

I nod, then instantly feel like an idiot because no one can actually see me...

I shake my head to clear my brain of my idiotic thoughts. 'No time for that, honestly Artemis get it together! We're in a battle!'

I start to creep forward and assess my surroundings. It's basically just a bunch of tents littered all over the place with thousands of monsters roaming around.

I notch an arrow into my bow and let it fly at a monster, before the other monsters can even blink they also have one of my arrows protruding out of the centre of their foreheads.

I continue down my path towards the pit, keeping in the shadows so that I can sneak up on the monsters.

After about ten minutes I finally make it to the centre of the pit, by that time my shirt is almost completely torn and the only weapon I still have is my bow and arrows (only because my quiver is enchanted which means I never run out of arrows). I breath heavily as I look around for my allies.

Ares, Hephaestus, Apollo, Aphrodite, Athena, Hades, Zeus and Poseidon are already here. Which means we are just waiting on Dionysus, Hermes and Percy. (Hestia and Hera don't like to fight)

Ares, Hephaestus, Zeus, Hades and Apollo are all standing in a slight arc around the pit taking out monsters that crawl out of the pit. While Aphrodite, Athena and Poseidon are killing any monsters we may have missed on our way down.

I am more concerned about the pit because every monsters we kill on the surface just goes straight back down to Tartarus and joins the line to crawl out of the pit again.

Keeping that in mind I join my brother and start taking out monsters left, right and centre.

"Apollo!" I shout out to him.

"Kinda busy right now.." Is his witty response, trust.

"We're all kinda busy right now! Anyway what's the plan?"

"Wait for Percy."

"And then?"

"Ask him what the plan is..."

"Wow, gee, great plan!"

"I know right, I'm amazing like that. Maybe I should write a haiku about it!"

"NO!" I yell before he can start his haiku. Gods please ... Anything but Apollo's attempt at poetry..

"I thought you were my sister? Why are you being so mean to me?"

I stare at him for a few moments before remembering that monsters are trying to come out of the ten foot wide hole, I then proceed to behead three monsters.

"Honestly Apollo! Just.. ARRGH."

"Wow sis ... calm down! Wait, I got it. It's that time of the month, isn't it?"

I notch an arrow and let it fly towards his arm. He screams in pain before remembering that he is the god of healing and deciding it would be easier to just heal himself.

"Yep... Definitely that time of the month..." I hear him mutter.

I turn to him and glare so hard that he shivers involuntarily.

"NO! I'm not! I'm just pissed off at you because my little brother's an idiot!"

"Oh you know you love me little sis.."

"Little sis? Umm hello you are younger than me! I was born first!"

"Details, details!" He waves his hand in dismissal. I am just about to rip his head off his body but Hermes comes and saves his life by standing in between me and Apollo.

"Come on guys, take your anger out on the monsters... Not each other..."

I huff, but do as he says. It's actually really satisfying to picture my brothers face on the monsters and then shooting an arrow right through their heart.

Don't get me wrong I love my brother.. But let's just say he pushes my buttons.. A LOT.

"Why are we just standing around the pit taking out immortal monsters?" Hermes questions us.

Apollo decides to answer, "We are waiting for Percy to come and tell us what to do."

"Why don't we just go and raid the castle... Take out a few titans.." Hermes trails off.

'What castle?' I think to myself before looking around and seeing a huge black castle, not Hades's palace. This castle is obviously Tartarus's and probably has Prometheus, Morpheus and a few other titans residing inside of it.

I know what you guys are thinking 'You're the twelve Olympian gods! You can easily take out a few titans!' Well the thing is... We are in Hades's realm which means our godly powers are weakened. Also because we are closest to Tartarus's Pit our powers are weakened even more.

Now with Hades... Sure being in his realm makes him extra powerful but because we are so close to Tartarus's domain he is weakened as well.

When I say weakened I mean we can still fight, but we can only use around... 50% of our original power. Therefore taking out a titan (who has probably been given more power) is unlikely. Not impossible, but unlikely.

I shake my head and responded to Hermes's thoughts. "No, we can't Hermes. Haven't you felt it? Our powers are weakened because of our closeness to the pit. We have to wait for Percy. Because he isn't a god his powers shouldn't be weakened at all."

Hermes nods and continues to chop off monster limbs, and watching as they turn into a cloud of dust.

I turn back to the task at hand; Destroy as many monsters as possible.

Percy POV

After taking out all of the monsters in my section I finally reach the pit to find everyone there fending off monsters. Most of the monsters are coming from straight out of the pit, that is our biggest problem.

While Tartarus is in control he is purposely keeping the pit doors wide open which allows a lot of monsters to come out. As soon as he's defeated he will slip back into unconsciousness which means the doors will go back to their original width of openness. (A/N omg that is not the correct way to say that but just ignore me making up words okay)

"Everybody!" I yell, ten heads snap towards me, "There is not point on fighting the monsters in the pit. It is an endless stream of monsters! No point, okay, move on to the castle! Go!"

Everybody snaps out of their daze and sprints to the castle, me hot on their tails.

When we reach the castle we huddle around the side where we can hide easily.

"Okay when we get in there I want Ares, Hephaestus, Apollo and Artemis working on tracking down Prometheus and making sure that he actually stay defeated. Make sure that he doesn't partner with the next evil villain that tries to mess everything up."

They nod while a few people snicker at my choice in words. I stare at the four of them until they finally get the message that I want them to go right now.

"O-oh, you mean now. As in now now. Okay we'll just go then." Apollo says.

I nod before continuing on with my plan of action.

"Athena, Aphrodite, Dionysus and Hermes go and hunt down Morpheus... Because he's a minor god just.. um.. Tie him up with something that will stop his powers, then drag his sorry ass back up to Olympus. We'll decide what to do with him then."

They nod and walk off. I turn to my father and my two uncles.

"You three are coming with me, we are going to find Tartarus.. and try to .. you know, stop him..."

They look at me and chuckle. Well I'm sorry if I'm nervous about bossing around my 2 thousand year old father and uncles.

I roll my eyes at them and storm off towards the castle, them trailing behind me.

As soon as I open the doors to the castle I feel pairs of hands on me, they lift me up and take me somewhere. At first I am too stunned to do anything. Did I just get captured?

I try to wriggle out of the monster's grip but they are too strong. Okay then, I'll just use my powers.

I focus on the water in the air and try to control it to push the two monsters who have taken me hostage but the water won't budge.

"MWUAHAHAHAHAHAHAH," Tartarus's voice rings out from above me somewhere. I look back to see uncle Zeus knocked out and being dragged along the floor, with a struggling Hades and Poseidon being carried by giants behind them.

Giants? Didn't we get rid of them?

I sigh and listen to the announcement that Tartarus is about to make, probably something about being 'so so powerful' and whatnot.

"HAHAHAHAHAAA!! Your powers do not work in my palace! You are weak and defenseless! Go and join your friends..."

I laugh inwardly, he thinks I only brought the gods. He knows nothing about the avengers.

I get thrown into a room and my heart sinks as I see all of the gods and the avengers tied up in a row.

I am shoved into a separate cage and chained to a wall where I can easily see everything that happens to everyone else. I am chained up with chains that are made of a metal designed to completely deplete a god of his/her powers.

Everyone's eyes are on me as three empousai stalk towards me. I glare at them, two of them I don't recognize but the third I know very well.

"Kelly.."

"Perseus... So nice to see you again.." She puts her hand on my chin and smiles sweetly. I spit in her eye.

She glares at me.

"Okay then... We'll do it that way..."

One of the other Empousai's hand her what looks like a whip. I feel like shuddering but stop myself, I must not show any emotion.

Even though I shouldn't... show any signs of fear, just looking at that whip brings back bad memories.

I turn my head to the side, and the last thing I remember is screaming as the whip is brought down on me. The pain of the whip and the smell of blood in the air is the last thing my senses register before I black out unconscious.
