Rescuing Family
I am apologizing now in case the fight scenes are really bad... So, sorry.
----------------------------------------------
Ares POV
I am so glad that Percy appointed me as leader, of course I was always going to be the leader (I mean c’mon, this is war! War is MY thing!), but it's nice to know that the little twerp can recognise that he needs me to lead.
I'm glad that Hephaestus is on my team, although we have the hole 'Aphrodite Affair' problem going on he is probably my favourite god... He's certainly my favourite brother, Apollo is just ... so childish.
Anyway, I am glad that I have Clint and Natasha on my team. They seem like they can fight. Although Flag dude (was his name Steve?) seems like he knows a thing or two about war and he would have been cool to talk too.
I think the only reason why Tony is on my team is so that he and Hephaestus can annoy all of us with their mumbling about building things and what not.
Honestly they are just SOO loud. I bet the enemy knows we're coming from a mile away just by how loud they are talking.
And the conversation is soooo boring;
"Oh yes, I made this suit by myself. It is made of blah blah metal and I made it by doing blah blah blah"
"That is very impressive, I don't even think my children would be able to do that kind of fine craftsmanship. Simply impressive."
"Wow, thank you. I found doing blah blah the most difficult and blah blah blah blah blah."
I think I'm going to throw up JUST from hearing them yap on about nothing. I have to end this now.
"Will you shut up! We are nearly inside the enemy camp borders, therefore this is the time to go incognito. I don't need your yapping giving away our position!" I bark at them. Tony shrinks away while Hephaestus just looks at me with an amused 'don't think you’re the boss of me' face.
I stick my tongue out at my brother before glaring at everybody and proceeding to tell remind them of what the plan was all along.
"Okay everyone remember the plan? First Artemis, Hades and Athena go to the base and get caught, then we use their godly aura's and telepathic communication to find them. Then while the enemy is underestimating us we strike; get the three gods back and beat the living sh** out of any and all monsters that cross our path. Capiche?"
Everybody nods.
"Okay so when I give the signal Tony and Hephaestus will unlock the gods's chains and free them, while Clint, Natasha and I unleash hell on every monster within a fifty mile radius."
Everybody nods again. I nod back.
"Let's get this party started!" I shout with a sadistic grin on my face.
We all creep towards the west side of the pit, Clint and Natasha on the outside of our pack to silently pick off any monsters that are coming too close. We stick to the outside of the camp before crawling in a straight line directly to the centre, using the godly auras as a homing device.
As the huge metal cage comes into view we duck behind another tent and knock out a few more monsters. I nod to Hephaestus and Tony giving 'the signal'.
They both slip on bracelets that make them temporarily invisible (I know what you're thinking 'Why don't you all just use these bracelets?' well we can't because they only work for two minutes exactly before they run out, so we had to wait and use them for the important parts). We each have one bracelet to use in only the most important situations.
I watch as a light beam suddenly destroys Artemis's chain while an invisible force breaks off Athena's and Hades's. Just as the monsters start to look towards where the sudden noise is coming from we jump into action behind the monsters.
Clint and Natasha work as a perfect team of well-trained assassins, silently destroying every monster in sight while I take a ... louder .. approach.
I give a loud war cry "AAAHHH", and ram my Axe into a monster's head while simultaneously decapitating another monster with my trusty sword.
I swiftly move my sword into the next monster's heart while throwing my axe and chopping off ten monster's heads. Slowly but surely I am surrounded by piles of monster dust.
After about five minutes the monsters stop for the time being, I must have personally killed 600 monsters, I look around and predict that Clint and Natasha would have killed around 800 together.
Hephaestus, Athena, Artemis and Hades were demons themselves, killing at least 700 each. Pfft, show offs.
Tony did well... Killing around 300... Alright for an amateur..
I look at them and they nod, time to start phase 3 of our big master plan. 'Move to the South side and meet up with Percy's group and the second group of gods.'
Artemis and Hades lead us (Hades because he knows which direction is South in his domain, and Artemis because she has the most experience with hunting) and we move towards the outer southern region.
We reach the outside of the monster camp to see Percy and Poseidon looking completely fine, with a tired and slightly beat up Thor, Steve and big green monster thing. I also see Percy's mum and step dad looking like they want to pass out at any moment.
Percy POV
After Ares's group leaves I look at my group, Thor seems relieved that he is in a group with the one god that actually likes him while Bruce and Steve seem slightly nervous but determined to do whatever they can to help.
I smile at them and use Hephaestus's compass to manoeuvre around the camp to the southern side.
When we reach the southern side a look at my dad and he takes my hand. We close our eyes and use our water powers to sense the things in the camp.
I use my dad's strength to search deeper and deeper until I finally find what I'm looking for; my parents cuffed to a wall.
Anger surges through me as I sense the depressed and sad atmosphere they are giving off. How long have they been down here, one week? Two? What kind of son am I that I didn't even consider what my parents are going through and instead played video games with the avengers?
If Tartarus has tortured them, screw the plan I am going to kill Tartarus.
I pull out of my state of anger and look at my group, I smile slightly before darting off into the direction of my parents.
I keep my senses keen so that I can feel (with the water particles in the air) when a monster gets a little too close to our little group.
Every now and then I glance at Thor or my father giving the silent 'go and beat up that idiot over there that thinks he can sneak up on us'.
We finally arrive at the place where my parents are being held and I scowl deeply at what I see. A titan is guarding them. A freaking titan. It's not like they have the power to escape, they don't need anyone guarding them much less a titan!
I take deep breaths as I look towards my father. He gets the message and attacks the titan, Prometheus. Effectively keeping him distracted as I move towards my parents and study the chains for a minute.
How am I going to break these?
I stare at the chains for a few moments before it comes to me. Bingo.
I focus on the water particles in the chains (now I know I promised that I wouldn't control the water particles in objects anymore because 1. it's scary how much control that gives me but mainly 2. I can't control it very well. But this is an in-animate object and I have to to save my parents).
Anyway I focus on the water particles and extract them out of the chains, effectively weakening them to the point that they are as weak as sand. I push on them lightly and they crumble to dust. Perfect.
I look them in the eye and notice just how worn out and tired they are. They probably haven't eaten much in the last week while locked up here.
I look down at the floor grimly before picking up my mum bridal style and walking towards the group.
Thor, Steve and Bruce (who had gone into 'Hulk mode') were beating up monsters left, right and centre. Honestly they're pretty good for mortals.
I glance at my dad and see him standing over a motionless and bleeding Prometheus. I smile at him and he slings my step-dad Paul over his shoulder like a sack of potatoes.
I snicker quietly at the horrified and shocked look on Paul's face before a look of acceptance floods across his features because he is simply too tired to care about anything at the moment.
I whistle to the other members of our group and they get the message. They form a sort of barrier around us to keep the monsters away as we make our way to the meeting point at the edge of the camp.
I watch with pride as the Avengers hack off monster heads and tails, and cut bodies in half, etc.
I have taught them well.
When we finally reach the outside of the camp I place my mum on the ground and dad flings Paul down next to her. I snicker again; I guess Lord Poseidon is still pissed off that mum chose Paul instead..
I use my powers and create a water shield around them to keep them protected as they lie on the floor.
Just as I look back towards the camp to start searching for Ares's group I see them stalk up to us with three extra gods. Perfect, the plan is working.
I sense powerful beings to my left and see the rest of the Olympians striding towards us.
We all know what we have to do:
Olympian gods + Hades and I raid the camp from different directions until we end up in the middle. The avengers stay here and look after my parents, then come in a 'second wave' to help fight the monsters from the back.
When most of the monsters are dead we go after the main people; Morpheus, Tartarus and any other minor gods or titans that have joined his cause.
Then trap Tartarus and other important evil people in some kind of prison to make sure that they won't come back to get us.
I look up from my gaze on the floor to see everyone staring at me.
"Why are you all looking at me?" I ask stupidly.
About half the gods shout at me, "Because you're our leader!"
"What about the king of the gods!" I retort, I don't want to be the leader. Can't Zeus lead instead? I mean... Sure he's crap at it but I won't do much better.
Zeus looks at me amusedly, "Percy, whether you like it or not.. You are our leader. Don't doubt yourself. You can do this. Now... Tell us what to do."
I sigh exasperatedly while I walk forward to the front of the pack. Everybody gathers around me as I start to send them off in different directions. Once they all have a position I give them the final command.
"Okay so once you're in your position telepathically communicate to me that you're there. When everyone is in position I will tell you to start moving. Kill everyone in your path."
I gaze at the solemnly before turning around and marching off into the distance, not before I hear my father mutter sadly.
"Percy has grown up too fast... He has seen too much for a eighteen year old...”
