Chrimstas in San Francisco

Hi everybody! I'm so sorry I haven't written in a while, but with my family here over Thanksgiving, I wasn't able to get to the computer.

Here's the new chapter just for the holiday season!

I couldn't wait. Percy, Sophia, Rion, Selena and I were all at the airport, about to board our flight to San Francisco! It was December 15th, and we were stayingn until December 26th. 11 straight days in SF. Everyone was excited.

Truly, I was doing flips inside. I hadn't been home in about my entire married life. Percy and I had gone to San Fran once for a few days, but that was it. None of the kids had been there, and my parents had only met Sophia, Rion, and Selena a couple of times total. I felt terrible about it.

Anyway, it was about 8:30 A.M. We had been at the airport since 6:00. I had been nervous about taking two eight-month-old babies on an airplane, but Percy was even more nervous. He never flew. Ever. I mean, of course now that Zeus was fond of him, it would be fine, but he still had his grandparents death to blame for his phobia of flying. He had begged for a road trip, but we both knew that that would just be worse. So he agreed to fly.

"I'm thirsty, mommy." Sophia reached for her backpack. She was almost four, and had already lost her lisps and mispronunciations. She was talking like a 'big girl' and I loved it. My little Sophie was becomign more and more like me in her intelligence. It was adorable.

"Here, sweetie." I said, handing her the sippy cup. Just then, a voice came over the loud speaker.

"All families with children under 3 may board now!" Sophia pulled my sleeve. I smiled at her angelic face.

"Come one, gang!" Percy announced. Then came the hard part. I got my bag on my shoulder, then picked up Selena. Sophia grabbed her backpack, and Percy grabbed Rion and his bag. Then he tried to grab one of the two remaining. Sophia took the other. I gave the flight attendant our boarding passes.

"Have a nice trip, Mr. and Mrs. Jackson." she told us as we left.

The flight wasn't a full one. Sophia, Selena and I were sitting together in the three seat row, while Percy and Rion were across from us in the two seat row. Sophia was amazed by the plane. So was Rion. Selena was asleep the whole time in her little carrier carseat.

Rion sat up in his carseat and pointed to everything.

"Huh!" he would squeal as he touched seat back. Percy smiled at me, then at Rion.

"Yeah, buddy, we're in an airplane. A big airplane. Right Soph?" Sophia got on her knees and informed Rion,

"We are on a flight that is going to san Francisco. It is direct, right daddy?" I told her what direct meant, and she nodded. RThen she got herself settled in her seat for the six hour flight.

"We are set to land in exactly 6 minutes. Please stay seated in your seat until the seatbelt sign has turned off. The weather currently in San Fran is slight showers, and the temperature is 51 degrees. I hope you have a nice rest of the flight and a wonderful holiday season here in San Francisco!" Sophia and Selena both looked out the window, which was now dirty with finger marks and hot breath from their little hands and mouths. Sophia was amazed at the city below.

"Wow! Mommy, look! There are so many little airplanes!" She said as she pointed out the wiindow. I explained the whole story of how I was born in SF and all, and Sophia sat tentativly and listened. Every once in a while, she would interject things like, 'Whoa!' or 'Cool!" but mostly she stayed silent. When we landed on the ground, Rion and Soph both burtsed out laughed. Selena started to cry.

"Welcome to San Francisco!" said the fligth attendent.

At the luggage gate, My parents were both smiling and waving and rushing towards us. Sophia jumped up and down and pointed to them saying,

"Grandma! Grandpa! Grandma! Grandpa!" Selena tried to wave, but Rion simply fell asleep since he hadn't slept a wink on the flight.

"How was it in the air?" My dad asked Percy as he took two of our bags. Percy laughed. This was going to be the best Christmas ever!
