A Visit To the Doctor's...
Author's Note: the beggining of this one is third person, but then it's back to Annabeth. Hope you enjoy!!! PS_ I know that we were just in Jan, but ALREADY WROTE THIS ON WORD so it would take way too long to change all of it. THANKS FOR UNDERSTANDING PPL!
“Well, Mrs. Jackson, we have some news for you: you’re pregnant! Congratulations! Come back-oh, you know what, we’ll call you when you should come back.” Annabeth’s mouth hung open. She was pregnant?! “Umm, thank you, Dr. Marini! I’ll be going home now, I guess. Goodbye!” Annabeth suddenly felt extremely happy-just wait until Percy finds out! She walked into the elevator, pushed the button for the garage, ran towards her car, and put the keys in. In less than five minutes, she was half-way home. It was a cold, wintery Friday and most of New York was just getting ready for the Thanksgiving Day Parade while Annabeth was there. “Finally- on Long Island”, Annabeth told herself. She pulled into the driveway, seeing Camp Half-Blood and Half-Blood Hill standing about a mile away. She looked at it for a moment, and then she remembered her news of expecting. She practically sprinted her twenty-five year old self out of the car and ran to the front door, unlocking it with anger. She reached a phone and dialed Percy’s number, waiting for him to answer.
“Ok, so, Noelle, could you name the twelve Olympian gods for us?”, The third grader hesitated for a moment, but answered correctly. ”Excellent, Noelle. Ummm, you can go outside, ‘cause I think it’s time to go home!” Percy smiled as the children in his mythology class pushed and shoved each other to get out the door when his phone rang. The caller ID read Annabeth Chase, so he answered, “What’s up, Wise Girl?” She sounded as if she was extremely happy when she said, ”I-I’m pregnant!! Isn’t that amazing?! Come home now, Seaweed Brain, or you’ll get it…”She told him harshly. It was his last class, so he had to go home! This was big news!
Two weeks later...
“Ok, so Hazel and Piper are coming… Rachel and Thalia are coming…Juniper and Reyna are coming…Clarisse and Katie are coming…” I counted aloud. “Don’t forget that Frank, Jason, Tyson, Grover, Jake, Will, Chris, Connor, and Travis.” Percy concluded. Annabeth had 17 chairs set up for the couples: Hazel and Frank, Piper and Jason, Juniper and Grover, Rachel and Will, Clarisse and Chris, Katie and Travis, and Reyna and Jake, and of course the other guests. My pregnant belly wasn’t bulging too much, but you would totally think that I was either pregnant or fat. Percy heard a knock on the door, and opened it to find Hazel and Frank standing there with quite a large present in their hands. “Congrats, Annabeth! How are you feeling? We were so excited to hear the news!” Hazel yelped as Frank held her hand.
A few hours later...
“Thanks for coming, guys! I loved the gifts!” I wove one last goodbye before closing the door behind their demigod friends. I tackled Percy with a hug. “Well, at least we can use some of our other bedrooms,” Percy claimed, “for the baby.” He dragged a huge, wooden crib into a spare bedroom with white walls and pulled me in for a hug. “I am so happy I married you, Wise Girl.” “Me too, Seaweed Brain. Who knew when you first came that we ever would? The first thing I ever told you was ‘You drool in your sleep.” I laughed quietly, and so did Percy. “We sure got some nice gifts… Let’s see… We have a wooden crib from your parents, a highchair from mine, a sword from Poseidon, a shield from Athena, baby toys from Hazel and Frank, a stroller from Paul and my dad, ‘A Child’s Memory Book’ from Rach and Will, a bunch of everlasting roses and a bunch of graphic onesies from Katie and Travis, a baby’s set of reed pipes from Grover and Juniper, a cute mirror and a coin thingy like Jason’s from Piper and Jason, a bunch of weapons(real and fake) and a game of checkers from Clarisse and Chris, a cool metal baby mobile with all our adventures on it, and-” Percy cut his wife off by saying, “I know what we got, Wise Girl. I mean, it’s all in the baby’s room ‘cuz I moved all of it in there while ya made your speech.” I blushed a deep red and muttered, “Sorry, Seaweed Brain…” “Ha! You actually said sorry to me! See, it’s not that hard… I mean, I am super easy-going, Wise Girl.” “Oh, shut up, Seaweed Brain or I will kill you with my dagger just like old times. Speaking of old times…” “We should go to Camp! I really want to!! Please?” Percy pleaded like he was a four-year-old asking his mommy for ice cream. “Fine. Let’s go…” “I have REALLY missed Camp…”
At Camp...
“Hello, Percy, Annabeth. Welcome back! How have you two been lately? Everyone’s still talking about your previous visit when you joined the campers in Capture the Flag. One camper, Miranda, was so amazed that both of you survived through childhood. This is very rare, you know. Especially for you, Perseus, Actually, it has never been done, what you have done, Percy, my boy. What brings you here, children?” Chiron asked while Percy and I walked with him towards the new temples that were recently added, designed by me. “We have news.” I reported. “Big news.” Percy added. “Umm, Chiron, I-I’m expecting!” “Oh my gracious gods, my children, this is wonderful news, and you’ve beat the impossible. This will be quite… interesting.” Chiron said uneasily. I started getting even more exciting than before. Percy and I walked to the temples, and then hung out with Chiron, Dionysus, and some of the new campers, reassuring them that they’d live this long too. After all, it had only been five years of peace after the Giant War. Those times were hardest, but look where we were now? It was in the past. Soon, the sun was starting to set, so the happy couple drove home.
As we entered the house, my phone rang. “Hello?” I said. “Oh, hello. Is this Annabeth?” The voice said. “This is she, speaking.” “ Good! I’m Kelly, Dr Marini’s secretary. She said to call you because you’re expecting. You should come back in two weeks. Are you available on December first?” “umm, I believe so. May I call you back tomorrow?” “Sure. Thank you, dear. Call back!” “Of course. Tomorrow, then?” “Perfect. Goodbye, now.” “Okay, bye.” I said before I hung up. “What was that about?” Percy asked as he scanned the refrigerator for something to eat. “Oh, just the doctor’s office. I am going back in two weeks.” “Oh. Okay.” He shrugged and pulled out two Greek yogurts. “Want one?” “Sure.” I replied as I plopped down on the couch. “Wanna watch a movie? Ooh, there’s a House Hunters in Mykonos!” “Uh, okay, Where’s Mykonos?” Percy asked, clueless. “Greece, Seaweed Brain! Duh!” “Of course, Wise Girl. Why else would you wanna watch it?”
