Band Camp
Hewwo UwU. This is a marching band AU. There are no quirks, and instead of being Top Hero, it's Drum Major everyone wants. Anyway, enjoy!!
Bakugo POV
BEEP! BEEP!
I slowly opened my eyes. I grabbed my phone and turned off the alarm I had set. I let out a yawn, and wander out to the kitchen. The clock changes to say 6:34. I lazily open a cabinet and take out a box of cereal. Pouring it into a bowl, and rhythmically tap my spoon on the countertop.
After eating, I put on a loose white tank top and black shorts. I pull up my long black socks and tie my oranges sneakers.
Carefully, I put my lucky sticks in my bag and walk out. The sun beats down as I walk to the car, and I wipe sweat off my forehead.
I drive to the highschool, and park near the front. I close the door to my car, and meander into the doors. I open the band rooms door and mentally smile.
I missed this place. A few students are here, but only the other section leaders and the drum major. Mirio sees me walk in and waves. I roll my eyes and put my bag in a corner of the room. I lift up my lanyard and put the drum closet key into the lock. The door slowly opens, and I walk over to the pile of cases. Doing a quick stretch, I bend down and move some of the bass drums. Finally, I uncover my drum. I heave up the wide case, and rest it on a stray chair. I make sure the door to the closet it closed so I can practice, and and take the tenors out. I put the harness on my shoulders, and secure the drums to it. I grasp my orange and black taped sticks.
"Dut. Dut. Dut dut dut dut," I start doing runs, seeing if I can still match my speed from last season. I go faster than I ever have before, turning the runs into furious speed notes. I close my eyes. This is implanted in my mind. I sharply stop and put my arms down, giving my wrists a break.
"Whoa..." I turn my head. A boy I've never seen stands in the doorway. His bright red hair is tied with a white bandanna, and he wears a red t-shirt.
I put my tenors back on the chair, and glare at him.
"Why are you in here?" I growl. The boy rubs the back of his neck.
"Um...I'm here for band camp. I heard drums and assumed this is where the percussion would be..." he looks down. I roll my eyes.
"I'm Katsuki Bakugo. I'm the percussion captain. Just because you're a rookie doesn't mean I won't give you shit," I say, crossing my eyes. The boy looks up and nods. A wide smile appears on his face, showing sharklike teeth.
"I'm Eijiro Kirishima. I hope we can become good friends," he holds out his hand for me to shake. I ignore it.
"Well, depending on who wants to play what, you'll most likely be on tenors with me, which sucks. Why? It's the hardest part," I say, pulling the other pair out from the stack of cases. He gets a determined look on his face.
"I'll do my best!" Kirishima raises his fist in the air. I place the case in front of him.
"Then show me what you've got."
