As I woke up I could feel that my ears, eyes, and body was free of all of the metal, and I was in a different spot, a cave perhaps. I shot up and immediately put my armor on looking around to see if there were any Dark Pirate Agents in the cave with me. 

"Retribution, there's no one else here" my attention snapped towards the voice after hearing my name and I saw the girl there, she had blond hair, a Dedenne on her shoulder and...Bonnie. I couldn't do anything, but my armor retreated and I turned away from her before walking towards the light at the entrance of the cave, and I was about to run when I felt a delicate hand touch my right side. 

"Where are you going" she said and I stopped and looked at her. 

Away from you, so I don't put you in danger like I have in the past I said and tried to keep on walking but she stepped in-front of me and blocked my path, and I lifted my head up higher so that I could look down at her without going cross-eyed. 

"You couldn't as so much as try to cut me" she said and I glared at her. It was true, I couldn't do anything to her, and if I did so much as scratch her accidentally. I would hate myself forever. I huffed making her fall onto her butt, and I turned around and went back to the little fire that she had made for herself. Then I stamped a foot on it, and she got up and yelled at me in anger. 

"HEY!! What are you doing. We need that" she said and I growled 

If you want them to find us again and capture all of us and your Pokemon than be my guest and relight a fire like that so close to the entrance I said and she seemed to be in shock. I let the fire coursing through my body run free and my body glowed a purple tint, and I walked further into the cave. Bonnie following the best she could by only being able to see my body, and nothing else around her. I got to where we would be safe in case they decided to come in the cave with troops and machines, and I covered the entrance in five feet of Ice and Bonnie started to shiver. I could tell because I heard her teeth chattering within five minutes of being sealed off. I lay down and she came over and touched me, and then she relaxed as my hearth aura filled the area that we both occupied. She got down and lay against me, her shivering stopping as she fell asleep laying against me. I opened a wing and draped it over her, and then I closed my eyes for the night. 

I woke up to the sound of ticking bouncing off of the walls and traveling through the air. Then the air was sucked from the room and I opened my eyes and glared at the empty space that all the air went to bored, and annoyed that something had disturbed my sleep. I changed into a ghost type and floated from Bonnie's touch. She was still asleep, so I en-covered her in a heated box to keep her safe, warm, and not bothered by the creature, or whatever it was. I shifted back into physical form and my armor appeared out of second nature. Then the air came back into the room and I drilled the back of my feet into the ground as the wind blasted me back with the force of a hurricane. I pushed against it and flicked my tail. Sending a thin sheet of metal darts towards the area as a warning, and the winds died down. 

The sound stopped and then there were two small explosions and the entrance of the Cave caved in, trapping us inside. It was definitely a wild Pokemon, I could tell by it's aura, and it not being controlled by some weapon or machine, and there was another exit. One that lead to the city, I extended my earth powers and mapped out the path there, while uncovering Bonnie since she was now awake due to the explosion. 

"What was that?" she asked looking towards the entrance of the cave, and her face fell "great, are we stuck down here" 

Thankfully no, and the Wild Pokemon knew that because otherwise it would've gone for those exits as well, and truly trapped us down here I said and walked over to her, letting her climb onto my back with her Dedenne on her shoulder slowly waking up do you want me to use my speed and get out of here, or do you want to walk peacefully and converse I asked and she chose to speed out. 

Where are we going now I asked and she pointed north 

"There's a gym in the city that I have to go to, to get my second to last gym badge and enter in the Champion's tournament in two weeks, and that also means that once we finish with this gym, we're going to the next one immediately. Sleep for the night, and then enter in the tournament" she said and I looked up at her

What do you mean 'we'? I asked and she brightened up and got out a Poke-ball, and how she looked at it I presumed that it was empty. I stopped and noticed how I missed all of the sounds of the forest and the Pokemon in them. I missed being free, and happy, and she got off and walked to the front of me. I took away the ice barrier and replaced it further in the cave to block that entrance and uncover another leading north.

"I was hoping to catch my last and sixth Pokemon for this so that I would have six for the tournament since it is six on six battling this year, but I haven't--" I sighed and touched the little button at the front and I was surrounded in red light and surprisingly the process wasn't painful, and the void inside of the Poke-ball was actually rather comforting. One part was a pool of water floating in nothingness, then a little ways in-front of me was a green area. I presumed that that was where we could heal a little after our battles, on my left was just nothingness, and behind me was a sort of steam area. I guessed that it was because of my past and powers because it was a seemingly non-threatening area that I could just float over. Below me was a hearth making the void warm, which shouldn't be possible, and above me was white, entirely white. I shot up and next thing I knew I was surrounded in blue light and I was outside of the ball. 

I have to admit, it's rather comforting in a Poke-ball I said and she looked like she was crying, she rushed in and hugged me, and I pulled her in closer with a paw. 

"W-why? You could just live your dream and be free, serve your purpose" she said still crying into my scales. I gently pushed her just enough to look into her eyes, and I evaporated her tears before telling her. 

Really, how could you even ask that? I grinned all of the others have their purposes fulfilled, Ash and Alain are Pokemon Masters, or at least the world views them that way anyways, and them and Clemont lead different Gyms, Serena is the Defending Queen of her title as Pokemon Showcase Queen. Everyone has fulfilled their dreams, and their purpose, everyone but you and me. You are to be a great trainer like the others, I can already see that by how Pokemon treat you, how you treat them, and how you and your Pokemon adore each-other. 

I have no purpose in this world, besides to defend against the evil of this world, and help People and Pokemon in their journeys, even save them from themselves if need be. When you showed me that empty Poke-ball, and how you needed a sixth Pokemon, I thought that this is my purpose. Battling alongside you as your Pokemon, and friend. As I said it four other beams of blue light exploded around us and her other Pokemon roared their approval, and she hugged me once again before re-capturing everyone else, and I let her get onto my back again and we were off to the next Gym. I had a feeling that she was only going to put me in the ball if I couldn't move myself, if I was in danger, in which I would just come out again and protect her, and if I needed to lock the Poke-ball shut with my Power over metal. Otherwise I would be her main companion like the Dedenne, and I would be her travel Pokemon...when needed. 

Thanks for reading and I don't know how you'll all feel about this change, but I couldn't get any other incentive for where this story was going other than bad things, and I didn't want to write bad things just yet, so hope you enjoyed and I'll have another Chapter out soon.
