Annabeth's POV

"Bye sweetheart," I said giving Percy a kiss on the cheek.

The kids and I were heading to California to visit my parents for New Years. Percy wasn't coming though because he said he had too much work but I know it's because he's still afraid of airplanes.

The kids all gave Percy one last big hug and then piled into the car to head to the airport.

I shut the doors to my car and then went to climb in before Percy grabbed my hand.

"Annabeth" he said. "Listen, you promise to be careful?"

"Percy were going to my parents I think we'll be fine without you." I said rolling my eyes slightly.

"No I mean on the plane."

"Oh." I say stopping.

"Please don't let Zeus blast our kids out of the sky."

"Ok I'll try." I answer kissing him one last time.

"Bye everyone!" Percy yelled, waving as we pulled out of the driveway.

On our way we hit some traffic, slowing us down a little. We eventually arrived at the airport.

"Okay team let's regroup," I said and we all sat on a bench. "Let's see, our flight leaves at 5 am and its 4:40. That's means we have 20 minutes to check our bags, get through security, find our gate, and board the plane."

"That's a lot to do," Lena commented.

"Yeah it is but we have 20 minutes." I answered. Then it hit me. "We have 20 minutes!" I screamed a little too loudly.

We all jumped up and ran to check our bags. We ran through security (literally we all had to run from the police for carrying weapons in our pockets before I changed the mist making the knives look like we were carrying bananas) and found out gate completely out of breath by then.

"Did we make it?" Zoe asked the flight attendant at the gate.

"Just in time," she smiled taking our tickets and leading us to the plane.

There were only 5 seats left on the plane all scattered around. There were 2 next to each other so I put Lena and Luke in those so they wouldn't be alone. Zoe sat up front next to an old lady and Charlie sat in the back next to another old lady. I was in the middle a couple rows behind the twins. I layed back in my seat exhausted. The lady next to me smiled.

"You must be Annabeth." She said.

"Yes I am it's nice to meet you." I smiled back happy to be next to a kind old lady. "Wait...how did you know my name?" I asked just trying to stall time to come up with a plan. This was weird and I knew something was off as soon as I stepped onto the plane. I was just too tired to really notice. But now I did. I looked around the plane to see half the seats were taken by old ladies. I looked up to find Zoe but she was way ahead of me.

"Mom!" She yelled pulling out her knife. I pulled out my knife too and stabbed the lady next to me. Immediately she turned to dust. Charlie was battling another lady with his sword in the aisle. Just then half the old ladies starting turning into hideous monsters. They seemed to be half bat and half snake and half human. They had snake bottoms and were slithering around but had human arms and hands with long claws. They also had bat wings. Their face was still that of an old lady though. Their grey hair turned into fire and they would use that to throw at us.

"Selena! Luke!" I yelled. "Get these mortals out of here!

Luke ran to the speaker and his voice was heard throughout the plane.

"If you are not an old lady on fire then please hide under your seats out of view and do not come up I repeat do not come up until I announce it is safe."

Zoe was more of a bow and arrow kind of girl but she seemed to be using that knife pretty well. She was jumping over seats stabbing old ladies left and right.

Charlie was in the back and seemed to be battling the leader. Just when I thought he was winning the monster scratched him with her long talon. Charlie gasped and stabbed the old lady on his way down to the ground. She turned to dust but Charlie also fell.

"CHARLIE!" I yelled and tried to make my way to the back of the plane. I think I killed about 5 of the monsters just in one slash I was so angry. "Zoe we need your healing powers!" I yelled but she was too busy fighting 10 at once and dodging fire balls to come help. He had a giant gash across his right cheek that I knew was caused only because her talons were poisonous. Right when I thought Charlie was about to die (again), I spotted Apollo and his chariot rising by creating the sun. He pulled his bus to the Wing of the plane. I carried Charlie out handed him to Apollo. "Please save him." I pleaded.

"Hello Annabeth, long time no see!" Apollo smiled taking Charlie onto the bus.

I then jumped back into the window of the plane and helped Zoe finish off the last of the ladies. We stood there exhausted.

"Mom where's Charlie?" Zoe asked. "I can save him."

"It's ok Apollo is here. Besides look at yourself, you're too weak to heal anyone right now." Zoe had a giant burn across her left arm and scratches and other burns all over her body.

"We need to find Luke and Lena!" I suddenly remembered.

"Do you think they're hiding?" Zoe asked jumping up and calling their names.

"Luke! Lena!" We yelled.

"Mom! We're in here!" I heard Lena call out. We made our way to the control room where the pilot usually sat but instead of the pilot Luke sat in the chair controlling the plane.

"Mom! Luke's a genius! He just took over the gears and had been steering the plane!" Lena smiled excitedly.

"Yeah and Lena killed the old ladies piloting the plane!" Luke said also.

I was shocked. My 10 year olds were steering the plane. They were steering the plane.

I pulled them in for a big hug. "I'm so proud of both of you! I never knew you were both so capable of so much! I love you," I said giving them each a kiss. "C'mon Apollo has his chariot outside waiting."

"But what about the mortals?" Lena asked. "We can't let them die in a plane crash."

Hold Hades my children were perfect.

"Well how about Luke and I stay on the plane and fly them to California and Zoe and Lena go on the chariot with Apollo and fly with him. You both need to heal your injuries. Meet us in California at your grandparents house. He'll know where that is." I gave them a hug and then they jumped out the plane to wear Apollo was waiting to catch them on the wing.

Luke and I parked the plane and then ran out before anyone realized that we had been piloting. We took a cab to my parents house and found the rest of our family waiting there for us. Everyone was sitting at the kitchen table eating cookies.

"Hi mom!" The kids jumped up. Charlie was all better and the Lena and Zoe were healed.

"Guess what! I got to drive the bus!" Lena called out happily.

I gave my dad and step mom a hug.

"That was quite a plane ride," my dad said.

"Yes it was," I laughed smiling that my family was alive.

Just then my cell phone rang. It was Percy. I put it on speaker.

"Hi honey," I answered. "Hi dad!" The kids yelled.

"Hi everyone! Where are you?"

"At my parents." I answered.

"Is everyone in one piece?"

"Yep, we're all safe and sound."

"So the plane ride went ok?"

Everyone was silent. "Yeah it was fine." I said. We all then began to laugh.

"Okayyy I guess you were right." Percy admitted.

"Yes I was," I answered still laughing.

"Ok then, have fun! I miss you! Bye!"

"Bye!" We all called out and hung up the phone.
