Annabeth's POV:

There is nothing like hearing the front door open, knowing its your two kids returning from school. It's almost peaceful...until...

"It's not a date!" I hear Zoe yell.

"Your right, it's a double date, let's not forget your friend and her date." Charlie says

I walk into the living room to see what is happening. Zoe was glaring at Charlie and let me tell you Zoe's glare isn't pretty.

"What is going on?" I ask.

"Maya and I were going to go to the movies with Kyle and Joey but Charlie won't let me and it's not a date." Zoe says.

"Two girls and two boys in a theater, sounds like a date to me." Charlie says sitting down.

"Alright calm down, first of all Zoe, you are to young to date. Second of all Charlie this is a decision your father and I will make. Now, go do your homework."  I say.

"But"

"No buts, go"

I sigh as they both run up the stairs and jump as I hear the door slams. I try not to think about my little girl going on her first date. I try even more to push out the thought of Percy's reaction and start to cook dinner.

When Percy finally comes home from work I call down the kids for dinner. We are happily munching away when Percy just has to ask a question.

"So do you kids have any plans for this weekend?"

"Well actually-"

"Zoe is going on a date." Charlie interrupts.

"How many times do I have to tell you, it's not a date. Maya and I are simply going to the movies with Kyle and Joey." Zoe sighs. I look over at Percy who is silent.

"Dad..."

"As much as I don't like it you can go as long as Charlie and some of his friends are in the theater with you." Percy concludes. I groan, Oh Percy. So stupid.

"I can live with that. Don't worry Zoe it will just be a couple of the football and camp guys watching you and your "not date's" every move." Charlie says smiling happily.

"Fine"

Zoe stands up and leaves the kitchen table. She takes two steps forward and then turns around grabs her food then leaves. My poor little girl.

The next couple days were actually okay. Charlie promised Zoe it would only be him, RJ, and Hunter there which she grudgingly agreed to. Zoe had actually forgiven Percy although she didn't exactly love the idea.

Finally Friday night came and Maya and Zoe were getting ready in her room. I had asked if she wanted help getting ready but she had, shockingly,  declined. Percy was out tonight with the guys luckily so that we could avoid further drama. I may or may not have purposely planned that...

Anyway, RJ, Charlie, and Hunter were all playing video games and were ready to sit as far away from Zoe as possible and not draw any attention to themselves.

Maya and Zoe came down the stairs and I immediately thank the gods that Percy wasn't home. They didn't look inappropriate they just didn't look like little girls anymore.

Maya was wearing maroon jeans and white sweater with tan boots. Her long blonde hair was in a french braid. Zoe was wearing blue jeans and white top with a camo green jacket.  Her hair was down in flowing curls.

"You girls look beautiful." I said.

"Mommmmmmm, don't act like it's a date because it's not." Zoe says. Maya laughs.

"Charlie let's go." I scream. Seconds later the boys come barreling up the stairs.

"Umm, no go change." Charlie says as soon as he sees Zoe.

"Couldn't you just be a nice brother and tell me I look pretty." Zoe says walking towards the car.

"That's my point you look too pretty." Charlie says getting buckled in.

"Alright that's enough you too." I say starting the car.

"He should have just stopped at I look too pretty." Zoe mumbles. Maya hears and giggles.

When we arrive at the movies Maya and Zoe get out first. I see them meet Kyle and Joey and they all head to the ticket line.

"Ugh, I can already tell they are jerks. When one of them hurts Zoe or Maya I get to say I told you so." Charlie says.

"I have to agree with you on that one Charlie" RJ says. That intrigues me.

"Why do you say that?" I ask.

" Just an instinct." He says.

" Okay boys have fun." I say letting them out.

As I sit at home I can't help but cross my fingers that everything went well.

Never thought I would say this but Aphrodite bless us all.
