Ch. 48 - Absolutely Not
Percy's POV:
"Hey Dad, is it okay if I try out for football with RJ? Really? I can? Cool Thanks." Charlie says quickly before rushing out of the room.
"Stop right there." He turns around and walks back into the living room. "I think it's alright but you already know what I'm going to say." I say.
"For your information I already have permission from my girlfriend." He says proudly.
"I'm not talking about Meredith." I say. His face drops.
"NO"
"yes"
"But what if I-"
"Nope."
"But maybe-"
"Nope"
"Please don't make me." He practically begs.
"I'm sorry dude but you have to." I say.
"Alright I guess but do your really think that it's necessary."
"Yes, you need to ask you mom."
"How can anyone prepare to face her?" He asks me.
"From my personal experience I can tell you that she can smell fear and she knows when your trying to make her in a good mood. The trick is to get her started an architecture rant and then blurt it out when she starts talking about how beautiful marble columns are." I say.
"Thanks for the advice Dad."
"No problem."

We were all sitting at the dinner table when Zoe decided to start the conversation.
"Guess what I heard from Sydney today? Turns out that RJ is trying out for football." She said. Charlie glanced at me nervously and I gave him a reassuring look.
"I'm surprised Katie is letting him." Annabeth says.
"Why is that?" Charlie asks.
"I just think that football is dangerous for kids your age." She says.
"Well, to be fair Beth Charlie and RJ are a little more strong and athletic than most boys their age." I say.
"That's true. I mean I'm sure RJ will be and excellent player but, if Charlie ever wanted to play I'd still be worried about the countless injuries that are possible." she says. "It's a good thing that my baby boy doesn't want to play football." She laughs punching my cheek.
"Well, actually mom-" I start pushing her hand off.
"I mean there are so many other sports that you would be good at."
"Ya but-"
"Oh now that I think of it, it will be fun to go see RJ play."
"I want to play football!" Charlie finally let out.
"What?!" Beth shrieks. The twins cover each others ears.
"Is this a bad time to mention that I totally failed my English quiz today." Zoe says.
"And I still forgot to clean our bathroom," I mention too.
Annabeth throws her head in her hands. Then she turns back to Charlie. "You want to play football?" Annabeth says.
"Yes, I didn't at first but then RJ kept bugging me about it and I finally gave in. It actually sounds pretty fun so I decided to sign up. I knew that I wouldn't be abl to play but since you're usually a supportive mother I thought you would be okay with it. Then you started going on about how I am your baby boy so I guess I just won't try out." Charlie says.
There was a Dead silence...
"In other news I punched a kid in the face today." Zoe said breaking the silence.
"You should play football." Beth says.
"Really!?" Charlie and I say in unison.
"Yeah I think that you should play." Charlie's face breaks out into a smile
"thank you thank you thank you." Charlie says tackling her with a hug.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Goooo Charlie!!!" Beth screams from the sidelines of Charlie's first game.
"M.M.S." Zoe cheered from below us. Yes you heard right folks. Zoe is a cheerleader. Apparently some girl bet Zoe that she wasn't pretty or talented enough to be a cheerleader so here we are.
"Oh goodness I can't handle the stress of the game." Katie says.
"They'll be fine." Travis says comfortingly.
"What position is Charlie again?" Luke asks.
"Well, Charlie is the one that catches the ball to score a touchdown and RJ is the one that throws the ball to Charlie." I say trying to explain it to him.
"Oh so what are they doing right now."
I turn my head towards the field to see RJ throw the ball just before being tackled. Charlie was sprinting towards the end zone just waiting to catch the ball. The whistle blew seconds after Charlie caught the ball.
The whole crowd cheered including us. Everyone began running onto the field. The cheerleaders being the first ones there. I watched Zoe hug Charlie and then RJ. That one lasted a little longer than I would have liked but I'll let it pass today.
I could tell this was gonna be a good season.
Heyyyyy hope yall liked the chapter! REMEMBER TO COMMENT IDEAS!!! thanks! ❤️❤️❤️
