Chapter 14: Awkward...
Annabeth
It has almost been almost a week since we figured out what Luke is trying to do. I try to stay around him, but it gets kind of awkward, the whole ex thing and all, I feel like I am just making it worse.
Lately, I have just been hanging around Piper and the gang. Percy and I have become really good friends. Just friends. I keep trying to convince him to not wear hoodies all the time, but he refuses, and I don't exactly know why.
Today is another one of the Savior's meets. I go over there and watch his meet. I seriously have NEVER seen him lose. I don't think he ever has. Afterward, I wait for him in the same spot I did last time.
"Annabeth?" The Savior calls from accross the room.

She looks up from her book, "Yeah,"
Ummmmmm....... Say something! Think! Think!
"You're still here?" I respond.
"Am I not supposed to?" Annabeth responds.
Yeesh. Awkward.
"No! No... no... I mean, I just didn't expect you to be back here after last time." I say.
Smoooooth. Am I using sarcasm? I don't know. What is wrong with me?
"How are you?" I ask.
Ok, progress. Keep it up.
"I am fine. You clearly aren't." She says back.
I...I...I...well, I...what?
"I...I...I...well, I...what?" I, say-crap. Did I say say that out loud?
"The people in the locker rooms. They keep beating you up, don't they?" Annabeth says.
"Wow, you are really good at noticing things." I comment, scratching at the finger shaped bruises along my neck.
"Yeah," Annabeth says. "I guess I have started paying more attention to things, since my... friend mentioned he does. I mean if he can do it, I should be able too, you know."
"Ouch," I say, "that burns....... for him, I mean."
Stray away from awkward..... Get away.... abort.... abort....
"So, how did you like the meet?" I ask, trying to change the topic.
"It was good... I mean, it was... I mean... you swam well." Annabeth stutters.
Aha! The tables have turned
"Thank you," I say.
"Have you ever lost a match?" She asks.
"Not yet. I hope to keep moving higher up and face bigger competitors, but so far, I have only been around the state." I said.
"Oh. Ok." Annabeth says.
"Well um.. bye." I say and give her a high five.
I turn around and walk away.
Oof. That was awkward.
Sorry this chapter wasn't very good, and that it took so long to get. I promise the chapters will start getting better.
Love,
Leah
