Percy POV:

I went to Yancy Academy for my freshman year. Keyword there, went. Let's just say, that ended in a freak dodgeball incident. The only thing I'm going to miss about that place is my best friend there, Tyson. He was huge, but a softie on the inside. I would be going to a private school, but,

1. My mom can't afford it anymore.

2. I kind of blew up every school I've ever been at, so, Goode High, the public high school, was the only option. Wow that is a lot of commas.

Anyway, I'm pretty excited. I'll get to see my other best friends from elementary, Grover and Jason. Oh gods, what if they don't remember me? Then I would be so screwed. What if they do remember me and hate me? Or what if they moved an--. Stop. Stupid ADHD. It will be fine. Besides, nothing can go wrong if I have my mom's blue cookies for breakfast. Nothing.

"Percy! It's time for school! Hurry before the cookies get cold!" Oops. My mom.

"Coming! Are they blue?" I ask.

"What other color would they be?" She yells back. Awesome. I quickly grab my hoodie and run down the stairs. I grab my bag and and about 20 blue cookies and run out the door.

"Bye Mom!" I call.

I decide to run down the stairs instead of taking the elevator. Elevators are too slow. Luckily, my apartment is only on the 5th floor. I dash as fast as possible. Blowing up schools, no problem. Bad first impression? Kill me now. Being late is definitely,a bad first impression. I leap 3 stairs at a time. I see a shadow. It looks like a girl. Wait. A shadow? I barrel into her. She topples over and I trip over her. I get up off the ground, and look at the girl.

"Well don't just stand there! Help me up!" The girl commands.

"Oh. Uh, yeah. Erm, sorry." I reply.

I lend her my hand. She grips it and effortlessly pulls herself up. The first thing I notice are her eyes. The are gray. Not like, blue grey, or green grey, or red grey, or --. Stop. They were just grey. Like super grey. They reminded my of a thunderstorm. Dark and kind of scary. Like she knew she was better than me, just too polite to say it.

"Um. Not to be rude, but, you pulled yourself up really easy. Why did you need my help?" I asked. She rolls her eyes.

"I didn't. But you were being a doofus. So I figured a little work would do you good. Don't thank me. Oh, and watch where you're going next time." She stalks off through the door, her wavy, honey blonde ponytail swinging behind her.

I take back the polite part. She is so stuck up. And she knocked all my blue cookies into the trash! I wait a couple seconds, forgetting what I was doing. I see a yellow vehicle start up and drive away. Oh yeah! I had to take the bus. The bus. The bus! I burst through the doors and run after the bus. I'm not that fast but I had a lot of smatina, or stamina, or spatnia, what ever it is, so I ran to to the next bus stop. I actually made it. I get into the bus, but there are no empty seats. One kid kind of looks familiar, so I sit next to him. When the kid sees me coming towards him, he gives a little nervous laugh, kind of sounded like a goat. I sit next to him.

"Hi. I'm Percy Jackson." I introduce myself the way I practiced. Yes, I practiced. No judge zone.

The kid looks at me with big eyes.

"Percy Jackson? For real? Man, how you been?" He asks excitedly.

"Um. No offense, but, do I know you?" I reply awkwardly.

The kid looks a little hurt.

"Do you not remember me? It's me, Grover." He says quietly.

I knew he looked familiar! All of sudden a huge smile appears on my face.

"Grover! I knew you looked familiar! Oh my gods, you changed!" I say.

Grover used to be a shrimp of a kid, small. To make it worse he has this leg disease so he kind of needs these crutch/walker type of things. I'm pretty sure he still has it, but, oh man! Grover grew taller, and --not to be weird, but--the guy had muscles! Grover looked a little surprised.

"Me? Look at you! You are going to be popular the second you walk into the school!" He exclaims.

I don't know what to say now. Oh, I know!

"So, did you find your soulmate?" I ask, knowing the answer will be no. Grover's smile grows.

"Actually, yes! Her name is Juniper. She is the most amazing girl you will ever meet!" He says dreamily.

I highly doubt that. But she is his soulmate, so, yeah.

"So, did you find your soulmate?" Grover questions.

"Nah. I don't even have my tattoo." I reply, nonchalantly (I looked it up in the dictionary)

At least I don't think I do. I haven't checked in a couple days. Though there was this one girl, Rachel. She was awesome. It would be cool if she was my soulmate. Grover looks unconvinced.

"Oh come on dude." Grover scoffs.

All of a sudden, he pushes up my shirt sleeve. On my shoulder is a picture of blueprints.

"Grover, I think I just got my first tattoo."
