When Annabeth was younger, she always made sure she was in the house before eight. If not, her step-mother would lock the doors and leave her to sleep in Bobby and Matthew's tree house. And every night that happened, she'd never sleep. Who could? After all, spiders were her worst enemy. It was a nightmare, nine hours of exhaustion as spiders crawled over every inch of her little five-year old body. After that, she vowed to never be away from home later than eight.
