Annabeth was going to kill him. She was going to stab him somewhere painful and leave his body to rot for eternity. Well, at least until the rats come.

He was 30 minutes late to the prom. It wasn't exactly his fault, there was a bunch of monsters that he was currently fighting with Nico.

Spin, Duck, Stab, Leap out of range. He fought like that. 

After ten more minutes reinforcements arrived and Percy hurried to the place where a silver stretch limo was parked. He really hoped Henry was not there, but when he opened the door, Henry was sitting with his arm around Percy's girlfriend.

Annabeth stood up. "You are late".

"Look Annabeth, I am sorry".

"Sorry doesn't cut it".

Annabeth looked amazingly gorgeous, even though she was furious. She was wearing a strapless dress that clung to her body in all the right places and had her hair done in a long braid that was resting on her shoulder. She was wearing the earrings that percy gave her that were silver owls with Emerald eyes. She was also wearing sparkly heels that were silver. Her neckline dipped low and her dress was really short. She was wearing eyeliner that made her eyes look baby blue and was glaring at him with fire in her eyes.

"You look beautiful". He said

The fire became more intense. "Thanks, but it would have been nicer to hear that 40 minutes ago when we were supposed to get our picture's taken and when you were SUPPOSED to show up"!

Percy took a step back. "I was helping Nico fight monsters, I didn't notice the time".

"WELL, wait you were with Nico"?

"Yes fighting monsters".

Annabeth shook her head "you dumb son of Poseidon".

"What"? Percy asked, confused.

"Ugh, it doesn't matter, I just wanted to be a normal teenager for once, but it doesn't matter, I will go to the prom, and be a normal teenager".

"Good". Percy said, holding out his arm. 

"one night". Annabeth said slowly "I wanted to be normal for one night and you couldn't even give me that".

Percy grabbed her hand desperately "well, annabeth, I am not a normal guy, but I tried to make this night as special as i could, it will be better, can i get in the car now"?

Annabeth shook her head "But this night isn't special. And you are right, you are not a normal guy, and that is why I am going to the prom with another guy, A normal one".

Henry smirked at Percy and wrapped an arm around Annabeth's shoulder. Percy couldn't believe this. Annabeth was ditching him for some pimply skinny sickly guy who played lacrosse and cries a lot.

"If you guys are done breaking up then can we get to the prom already"? Henry asked, his voice thick with smugness.

Percy fixed his gaze on Annabeth, it immediately changing from desperate bright green, to dark moss green. Something about his posture changed. His eyes became steely cold. "is that what we are doing? breaking up"?

"Percy-". Annabeth tried, but Percy interrupted her.

"I turned down immortality for you, I freaking went through Tartarus for you, but you have always had your sights on another guy. You were all caught up in Luke, and now you are breaking up with me for another guy. You are right. I am a seaweed brain. I was so stupid to think that you would get over all of those guys and love me. I wasted my life with you Annabeth chase, and I wasted my money and my love on you. Just take this", Percy said with a steely, calm quiet voice, dropping the box he was holding and kicking it towards her "I was just so dumb".

With that, Percy walked away.
