1978

It's a dark, gloomy spring day in Los Angles.

The wind wrestles through the trees as if there's a storm brewing.

Nicole Faulkner, a little eight year old girl, stands outside of this creepy looking house next door to her just staring blankly at it.

She stands by a wind chime made of animal bones.

Her hand plays with it as she continues to stare at this old house in front of her.

Just then, these twin brother and sister walk up to the house and one throws a rock through the window.

"Hey, Esther! You're a dork!" The boy says to his sister.

"Oh shut up, Avi!" The girl yells back.

Nicole turns around suddenly at the sound of their voices.

The twins walk through the front gate and past Nicole.

"Hey freak!" Esther says.

They both look at her and Nicole stares them down as they approach the front door.

"Excuse me?" Nicole says still staring them down.

They both turn around to look at her to see what she has to say.

"You are going to die in there." Nicole says.

"Shut your mouth or we're going to kick your ass!" Avi yells.

"We got bats!" Esther adds.

Nicole continues to stare at them until they enter the home.

"I hate trees!" Esther yells for no reason as she hits it with a bat.

"You're gonna regret it!" Nicole says as she repeats herself over and over again.

Avi and Esther enter the home and look around at the place.

Esther swings her bat at the first light fixture she sees and Avi follows along with her.

The duo goes through the house putting holes in the old walls, breaking light fixtures, windows and doors.

Avi throws a chair at the wall and smashes the screen of an old time tv that was left there from the previous owner.

They make their way upstairs and continue to destroy everything they see.

Avi comes down from downstairs and notices a dead animal laying on the floor.

"Esther!" He yells.

Esther comes up behind him and they examine the dead rat.

It is still breathing a little with blood coming out of its throat.

"Awesome." Esther says.

They watch as the animal continues to bleed out, when they hear the basement door open by itself.

They look at each other decide to go check it out.

"You go first!" Esther says.

"No you go!" Avi yells back.

Esther goes ahead of Avi down the basement steps and explores.

They take out their flashlights and look around the eerie basement.

Esther comes across jars of dissected animals part.

She examines them with her flashlight.

Avi picks one up and then drops it as if he was scared of it.

Esther jumps at the sudden sound of the jar breaking.

She then signs as she realizes it was Avi who had dropped it.

"It stinks down here. It smells like shit!" Avi says walking towards the stairs.

"You know like that time we had that raccoon stuck in the chimney, that's what it smells like in here." Avi continues.

"Yeah if smells bad! I'm getting out of here." Esther says walking in front of Avi toward the stairs.

Avi walks a separate way from his sister.

Esther turns around when she doesn't hear the sound of her brother walking behind her anymore or doesn't him smashing anything.

"Avi? Avi? Who's down there?" Esther asks shining her flashlight down the stairs.

She decides to walk back downstairs and look to see where her brother is and if he's okay.

"Cut it out, Avi!" She says walking into the room she last see. Her brother walk into.

"Cut it out!" She says again.

She then shines her flashlight over to one corner of the room and sees that Avi's neck has been slashed.

He reaches out for her help, but Esther panics and runs out of the room.

She is then met by the very things that hurt her brother.

Esther screams for help, but the monster silents her screams.
