Nicole's P.O.V.

Rian was driving the car silently and I just covered myself with the warm blanket he brought for me. He was driving quitely, not asking me any question.

The time he came to take me home, half of blood of my body was frozen, I saw guilt in his eyes but he didn't say anything nor do I. The car came to halt at my door and I came out thanking him, leaving his blanket on my seat. He just nodded with a tight lip smile.

"Are you okay?", He asked still inside the car.

"Yes, I'll be fine", I said and he just gave me a nod and left.

I came in my room and without changing my clothes, covered myself with the quilt. I don't want to think about Austin, all I need is a good sleep and once being settled in my comfy bed, sleep engulfed me quickly.

Next day I got up with a bad mood thanks to that jerk Austin, but I can't skip my college for anyone. I got ready on time and after having a nice breakfast with Kian, I left for college.

Before going to college, I decided to go back near the lake just to get some relaxation. I mean, can you believe it that a boy can be so insensible? I thought that Austin might be, only one percent could've behaved like a civil person but he's a devil, a dick head. He doesn't even deserve my pity, all he should be given is hatred.

Cursing him in all possible ways, I spreaded some biscuits and my bunny came out of his hole and started feeding on them. I smiled looking at him but then something caught my attention.

The paper was absent, the letter I wrote for Lone Boy. But how's that possible? It's still half hour to go for the college to start!!  Did Rian came here so soon? But he never came before 9 a.m., or may be he came!!

I immediately picked up my bag and ran towards the college. I badly wanted to talk to him. I wanted to say him sorry for disturbing him and and.. I don't know but I'm felling this strange urge to see him. I wanted him to take my side and give Austin a piece of my mind. Oh,yeah I'm not a sacrificing lady and I want to beat the shit out of Austin.

I came towards the car parking area but his car was absent, in fact there was no car at all. Hey, who could've picked up that letter?

Because I dropped it there when there no one was in the college. Did anyone picked it up? But who?

I entered the college but it was as usual empty without students and only staff members were present. I thought of waiting for Rian to come.

Soon, everyone came. Cali, Jason, Nial, Ellie, Max, Mike, Ashley and Rian except Austin and it's good that he didn't show his face to me.

We all had same class together in the first period and it's English. I deliberately sit alone just to save a seat for Rian, as I want to talk my mind out to him.

"Hey", I said once he settled on my seat.

"Hi", he said with sadness in his eyes. He must be thinking about Austin's behaviour but I had other important stuffs also.

"Did you read the letter?", I asked.

"Letter? Which letter?", Rian asked.

"The one I wrote and placed near the tree!!", I asked keeping my volume as low as possible looking in front where our teacher was telling us someone without noticing Rian's expression.

"Umm.. No. I haven't been there since a very long time", he said.

Then who the hell had read that letter? And who had been there often because I saw suffice breads shreds spreaded over there even when I went there after a long time.

"But why had you written any letter to me in first place?", He again asked.

"Umm, I was just thinking of ...", I trailed off the rest part.

But he didn't get me so he just repeated, "Thinking of ?".

"That if we could again do that pen friends thing?", I said truthfully.

He chukled and said, "No, we can't. There's no fun now and I don't want to do that again".

I won't say that I didn't felt bad, I were disappointed actually. I don't know but I badly wanted him to say yes. What's wrong with me?

After class, Rian left me saying he's got an important work to catchup and will talk to me later. I moved alone to the locker and Cali and Jason joined me.

"So, how's the dinner party yesterday?", Cali asked.

"I heard you're at Austin's place!", Jason said.

"Yes, and it was horrible", I replied to both of them in one line.

"We can understand", Cali said.

After taking out my book for another lecture, me and Cali both moved to our class, biding bye to Jason.

"How's the party at Rian's house?", I asked Cali.

"Oh, that was cool and we didn't let Kate having any glimpse of me and Max being together", Cali said proudly.

"Ok. That's fine, now what next? Have you thought about any new move?", I asked and she smirked.

Really? What's in her mind now?

"Seems you're very excited to pair Kate again with Austin, aren't you?", Cali said.

Even name of that jerk make me squirm in my stomach. I so so hate him.

"Please he doesn't even exist for me, especially after what he did to me last night", I said.

"What he did?", Cali asked with a flat look.

I sighed and explained everything to her and her expression changed from anger to madness for Ashley and Austin both. She was totally pissed by Austin and started planning to pay him a lesson.

"How could he do this to you? He's inhuman", she started cursing.

"I'm not surprised too. He's a heartless person", I said exhaling.

After that we both read one long hour about Emperors and their wars. History sucks!! But I can't bear Calculus so I've to stick with this 'Past world' thing.

Class over and time for lunch break. Cali gave me her notebook along with her locker key and went to bathroom for urgent nature's call. I moved towards my locker.

After placing my book in my locker, I moved to Cali's locker which was on other side of the corridor. Once, I reached there I placed her book back and as I turned I saw the bad boy's back.

Austin was walking straight towards me with a notebook in his hand and his eyes held with mine, he was not averting his gaze, so do I. I noticed he had bandage on his forehead and his left hand was also bandaged.

Where he had been to? Any fight or something!!

Our glaring game came to halt when he reached his locker and kept his notebook and closed it with a bam.

I rolled my eyes and grimacing at his stupid face, I started walking towards the canteen.

Once reached I settled at an empty table with my Nutella sandwich and my hot coccoa. Jason joined me along with his cheese burger and Cali came with her salad tray.

That's cool, me and only my good friends are having lunch. None of the bad boy's have joined. I couldn't be more happier. But then to destroy my happiness, there comes the bad boys.

Max, Austin, Mike came with their trays and joined us without even asking. Ellie too joined in mean time. After doing that stunt with me, this boy Austin still kept the audacity to come and sit with us. Everyone was here but Rian didn't came but.

Where is he?

Seeing Austin, Cali frowned and said even before I could stop her, "How are you feeling Austin after leaving my friend alone on the cold road? You must have slept well last night after doing such a great job".

All four pair of eyes watched me first and then at Austin. I saw Austin glaring at me with his intense blue eyes, trying to tell me something but I couldn't get, I don't even care.

"What did you say?", Mike asked Cali.

"Nothing important,just leave Cali", I said glaring at her. I'm not attention seeker.

"Why should I leave? Austin what the hell were you thinking whilst doing this to my Friend?", Cali grumbled in angry voice.

"Would anyone tell me what happened? Cole?", Jason asked looking at me.

My eyes were not leaving Austin, who was busy glaring at me with a stoic face. Can't he say sorry? If looks could kill, I would've cut him into pieces.

"Hey guys", before anyone could comment, we all heard someone calling us.

"We're not done yet Austin", Cali said before turning.

We all turned our heads and saw Rian coming towards us with his heart melting smile but he wasn't alone. He was with Kate. I took my time to notice her, she's a tall blonde girl looking really beautiful, infact more gorgeous than how she looked in pictures. She was actually a walking example of beauty and she was carrying her elegantly, not in a slutty way as Ashley and was looking perfect whilst walking with Rian.

Fine, I'm jealous.

"See, who we have here?", Rian said.

"Hey everyone", Kate said with a smile. Gosh, this girl is perfection. Now, I wonder why Austin was crazy for her.

"Hey Kate", Max and Mike said in unison.

"Hey", Cali said shifting at a distance away from Max.

I glanced at Austin and Ellie. They both were looking at each other as if talking something.

As soon as Kate settled on the seat, both Austin and Ellie got up and left without saying a word. Rian do look sadly at Kate but didn't say anything to them.

I looked at Kate, she was looking at the retreating figure of Austin with longing in her eyes. May be she still had feelings for him.

"Kate meet Nicole, she's the only person left whom you haven't met", Rian said.

"Hi, I've heard a lot about you. Finally gotta meet you", she said forwarding her hand towards me in a friendly way.

"Hi, nice to meet you too", I said in same warm way and She sounds good to me.

May be I've judged her too soon. Austin can be a jerk, for sure. I'm totally on Kate's side.

Next twenty minutes, Mike, Rian and Jason kept on talking to Kate and telling us about their old time. Max and Cali sneaked out at the very first opportunity much to my disliking. I saw how comfortable Rian was with Kate and I feel a bit bad inside my heart about it.

"Umm, Rian. I wanted to have a talk with you", I said whilst others were busy amongst themselves.

"Yeah, let's go", Rian agreed immediately and we both left the rest three.

Once we're out of the crowd in the empty playground, we both sat on the benches.

Rian took the initiative and said, "Cole, I'm sorry for whatever happened last night but..", I didn't let him complete and cut him off.

"Forgot that Rian, I don't want to talk about that", I said.

"Look Nicole. Austin isn't bad, he had some issues which he's trying to solve. He doesn't meant to hurt you", Rian defended him.

I chuckled sarcastically and said, "Why not? Leaving a girl alone in mid night had something to deal with solving his issues, fabulous".

He sighed and hold my hands lightly and said, "I promise he won't do that again. He was the one in fact who asked me to call you and escort you".

"I don't care Rian. What kind of person he is? First, he hurt people and then send you to heal the wound, bipolar much. But you know what damage is done and I hate that guy", I replied not leaving Rian's hand.

I don't know but it was feeling perfect for me to hold Rian's hand like this. He was making me feel special. He is actually anyone's boy next door.

"I understand but what about the letter thing?", Rian asked changing the topic.

I bite my lips out of embarrassment but then filled him with details and he laughed out loud. Even his laughter makes my heart do tango.

Girl, you're gone!! My mind said.

"Cole, you don't need to do that thing. I'm always there for you, whenever you feel alone, just call me. I'll be there to support you", Rian said scooting closer to me and I just stare in his brown eyes which were confessing truth.

"Thanks but I guess Austin would be having hard time because Cali is so not gonna leave him", I said and Rian chuckled.

"I'll see to it", he said and I nodded.

We both started moving towards the canteen where we've left Kate along with Mike and Jason but on the way back, Rian holds my hand out of blue. I looked at him surprised and he was already starting at me.

"Let it be this way only", he said before I could ask even and I just nodded.

I guess I've got someone finally!! Lone boy!!
