Blinking, he opened his eyes. The bright light hurt his eyes, so he squinted again. He felt soft sand on his fingers. His legs and back ached. His lungs too. His breathing was much slower than usual. He heard the shallow sound of the sea lapping at his toes. He heard birds and the rustling of the wind in the trees.
This was not his ship. It was not his Sunrise. Coughing, he sat up and looked around. Wide beach, endless sea. He must have been stranded. But there was no sign of the ship or its crew members in his field of vision.
Maybe I should keep searching the beach.
The captain slowly stood up and held his rib. A bruise. Slowly he put one foot in front of the other. He felt the fine sand on his bare feet. He walked on, a few hundred meters, but could find nothing.
Had he landed on an island? Or on the mainland?
It began to dawn and, sighing, the captain made his way to a small mountain that he could see from the beach. There he could find some shelter, he hoped. On the way there, he followed the river upwards, which flowed into a lake. He could not easily drink from it. It was connected to the sea.
Once there, he built himself a container for water and set it up, hoping to catch some rain. A small recess in the rock face was ideal as a first shelter. He collected sticks, leaves, stones and edible berries and fruit before dusk completely set in.
He tried a few times to light a fire, which he succeeded in doing after a few times and his body was filled with cozy warmth. He closed his eyes and stuffed some berries into his mouth.
I really must catch fish at dawn the next day and keep looking for people or my crew. Would they still be alive? Were they looking for me? Are they worried?
Hongjoong lay down on the uncomfortable stone floor and closed his eyes, trying in vain to get some sleep. But the sounds of the forest, of nature, would not let him. Again and again there was a cracking sound or an animal cried out. The only soothing thing was the lake next to him. Part of the lake shimmered gently through the small fire. The captain looked at it with longing. The only thing that calmed him. The water. The only constant in his life. With these thoughts, he fell into a restless sleep.
"That's him?"
"Yes," a voice breathed softly in Hongjoong's ear.
"He's quite small for a supposed captain," the other voice noted.
Hongjoong rolled over and blinked a little, mumbled in his sleep and closed his eyes again, unaware of the two people in front of him, who retreated slightly under the cover of darkness.
"I don't think so."
"Seonghwa, you do realize that this is against our rules. He was a victim and you saved him."
"Yeonjun, please don't tell the others until he's gone. I don't want them to punish him. He has nothing to do with this," he pleaded now.
"He certainly did! It was your persuasion to follow him. Not my gentle voice or any of the others."
The captain stirred again and straightened up a little. "H-Hello? Is anyone there?", he asked quietly and the two people disappeared into the depths of the lake. A soft splashing sound persisted, causing the captain to look towards it in confusion. He must have imagined it.
He shook his head and walked to the shore of the lake. He knelt there and stared into the deep, dark blue.
Will I ever see them again?
Wooyoung, the most annoying of them all, but adorable. Lovable... Who lost his heart to the young crown prince of Korea. San. San, who wasn't really part of our troupe, but everyone welcomed him warmly as soon as we were near Korea. Jongho our youngest, with the incredible voice. He knew almost every sea shanty and was good with his fists. Yeosang, the man who looked more like a prince than San. Going ashore with him for supplies was always advantageous. Yunho, who was Hongjoong's right-hand man and always brought good humor to everyone. In some situations, he acted better than the captain. And Mingi. Mingi, who looked the scariest of all, but preferred to learn San's customs and traditions rather than get involved in a brawl. A truly extraordinary group.
Smiling, he rose and sat down by the fire, carving a spear. Humming softly one of the songs that Jongho always sang. If he had the spear, he might be able to get coconuts from the trees. He continued humming until it started to get light and the spear almost resembled a spear. At some point, the captain fell silent but continued to listen to the song. He heard it, felt it. The same thing he had been humming to himself. He definitely had to be imagining it. He had been alone for too long, but the humming was getting louder. Skeptical, spear in hand, he walked to the source of the noise. The lake. But why would music be coming from there?
Was it just his imagination? The humming was still there and the captain knelt down on the shore, searching curiously. Nothing. But the humming was still there, very quietly. His gaze wandered to the surface of the water and looked straight into shining green eyes, which scrutinized him attentively. Hongjoong retreated in panic and thrust his spear into the water. Nothing happened. His brain must have been playing tricks on him. The buzzing was gone too. Shaking his head, he went to the fire and put it out. Ready to find food and his crew, he set off, ignoring his bruise.

In the small cave by the lake, Seonghwa sat down on the edge of the bank and looked at his reflection in the water. His face was adorned with a slight graze. Sighing, he looked at Yeonjun, who had just emerged from the water.
"I told you that was a bad idea! He hurt you! If the others find out that he knows you exist because you didn't pull him into the water with you, you'll have bigger problems than the graze," Yeonjun said worriedly, but also authoritatively, looking at his best friend.
"He was afraid. Afraid of me," Seonghwa breathed softly and continued to stare sadly at the water, letting his fin dangle listlessly in the water. "He should be! That's what we sirens are known for! Seonghwa, you can't seriously be interested in a human who is also a pirate. Pirates are known for killing sea monsters and their own people. And in human lore, we are nothing but monsters!"
"I'm sure he doesn't see it that way. When I tried to pull him down to me, there was something about his look that was like fascination," the siren said dreamily.
"I wouldn't put my hand in the fire on that right now.... Wouldn't you like to get back into the water before you dry me out?"
Seonghwa slipped listlessly back into the water and looked at his best friend. "I'll go check on him."
"Seonghwa wait!" But the older man had already disappeared and swam out of the cave in a flash. He emerged at the lake and looked around for the captain, who was preparing his fish by the fire. Seonghwa watched him with fascination. Patterned his legs.
I wonder what it's like to walk on land?
Suddenly, Seonghwa was pulled underwater by his fin. Yeonjun gave him a sour look.
What are you doing? He almost saw you.
What if he did?
He'll kill you for sure. Sirens are dangerous in his eyes. Pirates have been telling themselves that since the beginning of time.
He will not see you as the being you feel you are! We were created to seduce and kill!
But I don't want to kill him! He didn't try to kill me, nor did he attack me when I tried to put him down!
Annoyed, the elder swam to the shore of the lake and surfaced again. He looked at the human. Yeonjun gave up trying to talk sense into him and swam away. Seonghwa's gaze was so fixed that he didn't notice the captain's eyes on him until he heard a quiet "What are you doing in the water?"
He was too perplexed to talk and quickly swam a little further away so that the human could not see his entire form. His gills and light scales on his face. Nor did he want him to see his webbed fingers, nor did he want him to see his pointed teeth and narrow eyes. He just didn't look human. That would put him off.
"Hey, I'm not doing anything," he raised his hands and walked to the shore. "Are you stranded too?"
"N-no," Seonghwa breathed nervously. Don't look at me!
"There's a village here?", the captain asked in surprise.
"Yes. But-"
"Can you lead me there?" Seonghwa just shook his head. "Don't you want to come out there? It must be cold as the sun is already disappearing."
"Please don't look at me and go!", the siren said in a panic and looked at her counterpart, who had darkened eyes, nodded stubbornly and ran to the camp without another word.
I didn't want to use my powers against him.....
Seonghwa quickly dived under and swam back into the cave. He sat back down on the edge and stared down at his reflection. The captain would never like a siren. Not with those scales, those sharp teeth and those eyes.... Why was he so taken with the captain?
"Seonghwa!" shouted Hyunjin, who swam with Yeonjun to the dark-haired man. "What is it?"
"Come back into the water. If you stay up there too long, you'll die!" said the newcomer. "What do you care?" asked Seonghwa, annoyed, as he had never really liked Hyunjin. He had always bad-mouthed everything that Seonghwa liked. Which is why Seonghwa never took many people down with him. That he was too dreamy and romantic. They were born to seduce and kill. Because they would never get what they wanted.
"Quite a lot! Your human up there is a danger to us!"
"Keep your hands off him," Seonghwa hissed and watched Hyunjin swim towards the exit.
"I'll do your job for you if you can't!" He was already gone and Seonghwa swam after him in panic.
Hyunjin please don't!
But he appeared and started to sing. The captain listened and ran to the shore in a trance. "Hyunjin please stop it!"
But Seonghwa could only watch as his loved one ran to the lake and ran into it. Now the only thing left for him to do was to outrun Hyunjin. Seonghwa hastily swam to the human and pulled him back above the water. "Let him go and give him to me!"
"No!"
"Seonghwa. The others, especially Jimin, won't be happy."
"Leave the human alone!" Seonghwa hissed and Hyunjin's eyes darkened, he just nodded and swam away. Seonghwa dragged the captain to the shore and remained sitting next to him. He brushed his hair out of his face and looked at the human. He coughed a few times and jumped up in panic. Hongjoong looked straight into Seonghwa's bright green eyes. He stared back uncomfortably.
"You're the boy from before! Did you save me?" Seonghwa nodded slightly and wanted to go back into the lake. But then he felt a hand on his arm.
"What's your name?", the captain asked sincerely. Confused, Seonghwa blinked. Shouldn't he loathe the way he looked?
"I-I-"
"My name is Kim Hong-" - "No, stop!"
"What is it?"
"You mustn't tell me," Seonghwa breathed gloomily and continued speaking directly. "My name is Seonghwa. But I'm also known as Peisinoe."
"The persuader." Hongjoong scrutinized Seonghwa closely and slid closer to him. "So you're a siren?"Seonghwa nodded nervously. "Stay away from the water here. They're all over the island."
"So I am on an island after all...." Hongjoong tussled his hair in despair. "Do you know what happened to my crew and the ship? Were they stranded too?"
"I don't know. I didn't see anyone when I took you to the island."
The captain nodded sadly and Seonghwa wanted to take him in his arms and comfort him. But he couldn't. "I should go."
"Please stay," the captain breathed and looked at him with a smile. "The others won't like it," Seonghwa murmured.
"Please stay away from the water."
"I need it. I need to drink, it hardly ever rains here."
"You're stubborn," the siren observed.
"I'm often told that."Hongjoong came back to the shore and sat down. "I told you to stay away."
"As long as you're there, nothing will happen to me." Seonghwa blushed. "W-what if I-"
"You've saved me twice. I hardly think you care about dragging me down. Besides, you didn't even want to hear my name for fear of using it subconsciously."
"You can remember the first time?" Seonghwa backed away uncomfortably. "Yes, your voice is beautiful." The siren blushed again. "And your eyes. I've never seen anything like them. Why didn't you drag me down with you and bring me here instead?"
"You were the first person who didn't look at me with fear or hatred."
"You really are far too beautiful for that," said the captain unabashedly. Seonghwa had never received compliments like that before. He only heard the hate speech from his victims about how disgusting and fish-like they were.
Before he realized it, a tear rolled down his cheek."Why are you crying?" Hongjoong bent down and wiped the tears from Seonghwa's face with his thumb. Seonghwa had never been touched like this before. The dark blue scales on his face... Didn't it bother him?
Seonghwa quickly removed the pirate's hands. Hongjoong stared at them and Seonghwa quickly pulled them away too. The webbed skin. He must surely find it repulsive....
"Hongjoong."
"What?"
"Kim Hongjoong, is my full name."
"Why are you telling me? Please don't..."
"I trust you Seonghwa," Hongjoong only replied, causing his eyes to widen.
🏴☠️𝗛𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗷𝗼𝗼𝗻𝗴 🏴☠️
When he gave his full name, he knew what danger he was actually exposing himself to, but he didn't have the feeling that Seonghwa would harm him. He was indeed a lovely and very calm siren. He seemed more like a mermaid. He didn't want to hurt anyone. He wanted to join him in the water to show that Hongjoong wasn't afraid. So Hongjoong removed all his clothes except for his underwear and went into the lake.
"What are you doing?" Seonghwa asked in a panic and swam to him. "Get back out!"
"No, I'm not scared. I trust you." Hongjoong looked into Seonghwa's narrow green glowing eyes. He examined the beginnings of the dark blue scales on his face, which resembled his fin, which looked almost black in the water. He examined his gills. His thumb stroked the scales on his face and Seonghwa pushed the captain's hand away in panic. But he healed Seonghwa's hand firmly and stroked his webbed fingers. "N-not."
"Oh, are you sensitive?"
"No... It's just.... It's not nice." Ashamed, Seomghwa looked away. "A siren who doesn't think she's beautiful? You should be able to seduce with confidence."
"I want to look like you. I... Want to love like you.... "Hongjoong's heart thudded in his chest at that sentence. He just wanted to be loved.
I wonder what the others are like? Was he outcast because of his way of thinking?
Without thinking further, he pulled Seonghwa to him and gave him a hug, which his counterpart only returned nervously. "Stay the way you are. You're beautiful the way you are." And Hongjoong meant it. He had never seen such a beautiful creature before. Seonghwa blinked a few times, unsure what to do next. But Hongjoong took that decision away from him when he came closer to Seonghwa's face and planted a kiss on him. Seonghwa's eyes widened in surprise. Shortly afterwards, Hongjoong pulled away. "What, you've never been kissed before?"
"No, I... Just kissed my victims," he said, ashamed. "I understand. But you can kiss me back. Nothing will happen to me."Hongjoong leaned forward again and kissed Seonghwa again, but this time the siren didn't hold back.
He lovingly returned the kiss and stroked Hongjoong's wet hair. Hongjoong grinned into the kiss and bit Seonghwa's lip lightly, causing him to gasp in confusion and hold Hongjoong in shock as he suddenly wrapped his legs around Seonghwa's waist. The captain stared at Seonghwa's pointed teeth and stroked them with his finger. Seonghwa stared at the smaller man and connected their lips again. Surprised, the captain returned the kiss. He pressed himself closer to his counterpart and felt the desire overcome him. Shit.
Confused, Seonghwa looked at him as Hongjoong broke away. "Did I do something wrong?"
"No... I just get lust..." said the captain, embarrassed.
"Lust?"
"That's when... Well... I think you'd like it," Hongjoong whispered.
"Is that what people call sex? A union of two lovers?"
"You do know what it is."
"I saw some the other day. From your ship. When you stopped at the neighboring island."
"Have you been there that long? Who did you see? Wooyoung and San?"
"I don't know your names. One was about your height and very loud. The other was tall, with a narrow waist and siren-like eyes, like mine."
"Yes, it was the two of them. I wouldn't have expected anything else," Hongjoong sighed, causing Seonghwa to smile slightly. Suddenly, Hongjoong felt himself being pulled closer to the siren and a hand on his upper arm, clutching tightly, as another person appeared.
"What is it Yeonjun?" The latter looked curiously but also dismissively at Hongjoong.
"I saw the ship Sunrise with six people not far from here."
"That's my crew! They're still alive!" Hongjoong exclaimed with relief and saw Seonghwa tense up and look sadly at the captain. That would be a goodbye.
"Can you lead them here? But without killing anyone!"
"Sure... If I were you, I'd consider traveling on with them. The others are discussing your punishment for leaving him alive."
"How do you envisage that? The ship is much too fast for me."
"Maybe they have a vessel with water where you can get in and, if it holds, you can spend time back in the sea. You can stay afloat the longest of all of us."
"I'm definitely not keeping him like a pet," Hongjoong hissed.
"I'll be off then, see you later," Yeonjun quickly swam away and Seonghwa looked nervously at Hongjoong. "I don't want to lose you!" Seonghwa sobbed, causing Hongjoong to look at him in surprise. "You won't, we'll think of something."
"And what?"
"Maybe we should ask the gods," Hongjoong said quietly. "The gods? You believe in them?"
"Not really, but I'd give it a shot for you. Who should we pray to? Phorkys?"
"No, not the sea god. We are descended from Acheloos, the river god, and Sterope," Seonghwa said. "Well, let's pray to them for help. Do you have a specific place for this?" Hongjoong now asked, as he likes to follow and respect the customs of others.
"No, not really, but when I want to be alone more often and think about everything, I swim to the cave there," he pointed. "Then let's go to the cave."
"Sure, but we'd have to dive there. How long can you hold your breath?"
"I don't know, two to three minutes," Hongjoong guessed. "That should be enough." They both swam to the entrance of the cave's tunnel. "Okay, follow me, I'll swim slower too," Seonghwa said gently and dived under.
Hongjoong did the same and followed Seonghwa. He tried to keep up with him as best he could. After a few seconds, he even caught Seonghwa's hand and held it tightly. The siren looked at Hongjoong and smiled sweetly. When Hongjoong tightened his grip, he swam next to Seonghwa and reappeared in the cave after a minute. Hongjoong's chest rose and fell sharply. He caught his breath and calmed down. Seonghwa watched him with fascination. When the captain had enough oxygen again, he swam to the edge of the small body of water and held on tight. Seonghwa moved next to the captain.
"Wow, it's beautiful here," Hongjoong breathed and marveled at the cave, which had several crystals on the walls and ceiling. The crystals reflected the water and the whole cave was lit up and shining.
"Yes, that's it. I'm glad you like it," the siren replied happily and looked back at Hongjoong, who reached for Seonghwa's hand. He looked nervously down at their hands. Hongjoong just smiled and stroked them. "Okay, I would say. We'll try to reach your god," Hongjoong said optimistically.
Seonghwa closed his eyes like Hongjoong. The captain was never really a believer, so he really hoped that someone would respond.
Please Acheloos help Seonghwa. One of your sons. I don't want him to be punished or even die because of me.
When nothing happened, he opened his eyes with a sigh. "Crap."
"Hey, everything's fine. Don't worry about it. We'll definitely think of something else. But I have no problem coming with you if your people want to," said Seonghwa, placing his hand on Hongjoong's arm.
"I don't want to keep you like a prisoner...."
"You don't. I trust you and it's better than dying," Seonghwa breathed, causing Hongjoong to nod reluctantly. "Okay, but as soon as you want to be free, always tell me. I'll let you go straight away."
"I know that, Captain." Hongjoong's cheeks turned a shade of red at Seonghwa's words. He was never usually this embarrassed.
"T-that's what they call you on board, isn't it?"
"Yeah, sure, but you're not a-"
"But I want to be! I want to be one of you!"
"Seonghwa," Hongjoong murmured sadly. "Y-you... "
"I. I DON'T!!!" he shouted angrily. "I don't want any more of this! I don't want to be tied to the sea anymore. I want to see the land! All the places I've only heard about. I don't want to have gills, scales, a tail or sharp teeth. I don't want to look like a monster! I also want to be able to sing without being afraid of killing someone!" Tears ran down his cheeks and the captain pulled him into his arms, overwhelmed. Caressed him, kissed his neck and cheek.
"You're not a monster. You're beautiful just the way you are. I couldn't imagine a more beautiful person by my side than you," he admitted with a smile and stroked Seonghwa's cheek, which was covered in scales."Do you think so?"
"Of course!"
🌊 𝗦𝗲𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗵𝘄𝗮 🌊
Hongjoong's words made his heart beat faster. He had never felt anything like it. He felt warm.
"-joong?"
"HONGJOONG?? "
"CAPTAIN?"
This must be Hongjoong's crew....
"Yes?! MINGI?! I'M HERE!" he shouted back. Shortly afterwards, two people tumbled into the cave.
"Captain! You're all right! We were so worried when you jumped off the ship. It's like you were seduced by a siren," said Yunho, causing Hongjoong to bite his lip sadly. "Well, about that," he looked at Seonghwa and pulled him close. "That's a fact." Mingi and Yunho stared at Seonghwa in surprise. The latter clung uncomfortably to the captain. "Then why are you still alive? Don't tell me the siren didn't kill you!"
"Ehm... Yes, this is Seonghwa," the captain introduced him. "And he'll be a member of our crew from today."
"He? What? How?" Mingi asked, who was barely able to keep up. "He needs water Hongjoong. We can't take your love interest with us!"
"Of course we can and we will! I'm still the captain and decide what we do and what we don't do. Seonghwa will come with us. I will definitely not leave him to die."
"Hongjoong... ", Seonghwa breathed and looked at the two of Hongjoong's crew. "If they don't want to, it's okay. They hate me. I'm nothing but a monster who seduced their captain." A look of regret immediately appeared on Mingi and Yunho's faces.
"That's not what I meant," muttered Yunho. "Pay attention. We'll all meet back at the ship at dawn. Come there and we'll figure out what to do next."
"Yunho, now that I'm back, I can tell you what we're going to do next," the captain grumbled, annoyed, so Yunho just nodded quickly. "Sorry captain. We'll go first. The others are already missing you." The two of them disappeared as quickly as they came.
"Well, hopefully we'll find the ship too. Who knows how long they've been wandering around here looking for me," Hongjoong sighed, but Seonghwa just smiled. "Don't worry, I'll just ask Yeonjun. He led them here," Seonghwa reassured his lover. Hongjoong nodded directly.
"Do you want to follow the others? I'll follow them."
"Absolutely not. I definitely won't leave you alone in the water. They have to get past me first if they want to punish you," Hongjoong said with rock-solid conviction and grabbed Seonghwa's hands.
No one has ever cared for me this much. Nor loved me. I'm not feared, I'm admired.
Seonghwa looked lovingly at Hongjoong and wanted to kiss him again, but they had more important things to do. However, Hongjoong took the decision away from him and kissed him briefly and lovingly on the mouth. "Let us go. I'm sure you can feel your friend somehow, I'll just follow you."
Seonghwa just nodded and went into hiding, so Hongjoong did the same.
Acheloos, please make sure nothing happens to this man! I love him with all my heart. I don't care if the others punish me, I just want him to be safe.
Sending my silent prayer, I swam quickly through the tunnel with the captain by the hand.
Peisinoe, my child. You may protect him even with your life. I always grant you this, except on the new moon, when you are one with the sea again.
When he heard this in his head, his eyes went black for a moment and his whole body ached. Suddenly he felt the cool air on his face and blinked. He looked into Hongjoong's worried eyes. Seonghwa took a hasty breath and felt his lungs sting. "What happened, Seonghwa? You were unconscious all of a sudden."
"He's back there! Seonghwa! Hand over the human!"
"Hongjoong, can you carry me?"
"I think. Why? Oh no. I'm definitely not walking across the island with you in my arms. You'll dry up on me later!"
"But they can't follow me like that! Trust me. I can survive on land for a long time!"
Resigned, Hongjoong gave in and waded out of the lake, pulled Seonghwa to him and lifted him up bridal style. The latter clung to the captain. His tail fin hung over one of his lover's arms as he ran forward with great effort. "Phew, I had imagined you would be easier. But never mind. How are you? If you need water, let me know."
"I'm fine," breathed Seonghwa, inhaling the fresh air in confusion. It felt good? Funny, he didn't feel the need for water the longer they were on land. "Hongjoong I.... I feel weird."
"We'll be on the beach in a minute, then-"
"No, that's not what I mean. Somehow I don't feel the need for water right now. I... I think he helped me. He spoke to me."
"Who, Achloos?"
"Yes, he- Hongjoong back there is the ship!"
When he said this, Hongjoong ran there like crazy and saw his crew. They kept looking around in the water and had something in their ears. Probably to protect themselves from the sirens.
"Captain! There you are!" shouted the little one with the loud organ, who must have been Hongjoong after Wooyoung. "Oh, who's this handsome boy?"
Seonghwa blinked uncertainly. Handsome? There was nothing human-like about him. Scales, webbed hands, pointed teeth....
"I-I'm Seonghwa and I'd like to travel with you," the siren shyly introduced herself. "Cute, I always thought that sirens, are-", but he was interrupted by Hongjoong. "Cut it, Wooyoung! We have more important things to do. We have to get out of here before his people come and punish him and kill me, maybe you too."
Hongjoong looked into the circle with determination and everyone saluted. "Aye aye Captain!"
They went to their fixed areas of responsibility while Hongjoong dropped Seonghwa off on the beach. "Wait here for a moment," the captain kissed Seonghwa's cheek and went to a boy who looked chiseled. He was so handsome. Seonghwa wanted to be that pretty. Instead, he had these monster-like features. But for some reason, the captain liked Seonghwa the way he was.
Smiling at this thought, he was playing with his hands in the water when he realized that he was missing his webbed membranes. Perplexed, he stroked his neck and couldn't feel his gills. Was this the work of his god?
"Hongjoong?!" he called out in panic as his fin hurt and the scales fell off. "What's going on? Are they there yet?"
"No, my fin... I'm in pain," whimpered the siren, looking down and seeing the fin splitting in two. Legs?
Totally overwhelmed, Hongjoong knelt down to Seonghwa. "It hurts so much," Seonghwa cried out loudly and Hongjoong covered his ears, writhing in pain. "I-I'm so sorry, Hongjoong! I didn't mean to!"
"It's okay." He slowly sat up and looked at Seonghwa, who now had two legs. "Y-you.... Legs," Hingjoong breathed and looked at Seonghwa, who was sitting in front of him completely exposed due to the transformation.
Does he think I'm ugly?
Hongjoong blushed and averted his eyes. "I'll give you something to wear. Come on!" He stood up and held out his hand to Seonghwa, who pulled himself up unsteadily on the captain. But his legs were still weak and he didn't know how to move them. Hongjoong noticed this and lifted him up again as before. "Don't worry, I'll carry you onto the ship. And then you can learn how to walk and, well, your new needs in peace."
"You want to show me sex?" Seonghwa looked at Hongjoong enthusiastically. "Including that, yes. Well, if you want to, of course."
"That sounds great!"
Hongjoong carried Seonghwa onto a small boat, which the two, San and Wooyoung took to the Sunrise. The other four were on the other boat. San took off his top and covered Seonghwa's pubic area with it, devoting himself fully to his lover again until the boat started to shake and Wooyoung was pulled into the water. Without batting an eyelid, San jumped right in after him and Hongjoong looked at the others and Seonghwa in panic.
"Wait here. I'll get them."
"No! I'll do it, they'll hold you captive and kill you!"
"You can't breathe underwater."
"I... I..." Seonghwa faltered and swallowed hard, gazing at the dark surface. "I'll go," he practiced emphatically and paralyzed, Hongjoong nodded. Seonghwa jumped into the water and swam deeper and deeper, where he caught sight of San, who was trying to free Wooyoung from his grasp. Only Yeonjun was not there.
Seonghwa swam as best he could with those legs to Wooyoung and tried to pull Wooyoung out of the sirens' grasp.
I need more strength! These legs are too weak!
Concentrate, my Peisinoe! I didn't take anything from you. I have given you strength. Strength to protect your love and everything that is important to him.
With a strong tug, he pulled Wooyoung away and took San directly with him. He swam to the surface of the water and lifted them both onto the boat. "Hwa! You're all right! Oh my god. I was so worried!"
"Yes, but we have to get out of here quickly. I can hear them! You paddle, I'll push!" Hongjoong did as he was told without saying a word while Wooyoung and San tried to catch their breath and coughed. Hongjoong kept staring at the water. "Captain. No! Don't listen to them. They're just trying to lure you into the water! Just concentrate on my voice!"
Seonghwa refocused a little and his fin disappeared, with his weak legs he pulled himself onto the boat and crawled to Hongjoong, who helped San and Wooyoung to board the Sunrise.
Hongjoong tried to concentrate only on Seonghwa as he sang. Listened to his beautiful voice.
"Would you like to say goodbye to your friend?" Hongjoong looked gently at Seonghwa, who shook his head. "Yeonjun, would understand. I left him a scale."
"Alright." Hongjoong gave Seonghwa a piggyback ride and hesitated to go up on the ship.
"Hongjoong. Go. It was my decision," Seonghwa kissed the captain gently on the mouth. "You're right... I..."
"You're doing the right thing. Leave now before they get even more pushy!"
🏴☠️𝗛𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗷𝗼𝗼𝗻𝗴 🏴☠️
A few days had passed. The crew of the Sunrise has escaped the sirens and is now sailing on towards San's homeland. Seonghwa could already walk well, but not for long. San and Wooyoung were still suspicious of Seonghwa, even though he had rescued them. They were afraid he would follow his nature. But Seonghwa was too peaceful even for a pirate. As soon as he could walk and stand for longer, he was to receive combat training from Jongho. The crew also learned from him that he could temporarily transform into a siren in the water if he had strong willpower. However, this process is associated with a great deal of pain. For this reason, the captain told him to only resort to it in extreme emergencies. On the night of the new moon, Hongjoong was startled out of his sleep by his lover crying out in pain and writhing. He took on his siren form without water. So they put one and one together. Seonghwa would now change back for a day every new moon without being able to control anything. That was the god's condition. But they could live with that. When that day came around, they stopped at a beautiful island and spent time there, and Hongjoong often went into the water with Seonghwa.
Over time, Seonghwa learned to stand longer, his muscles became stronger and he received his first training lessons.
He was actually a good fighter. Hongjoong looked at his beloved and barely noticed how he blushed. Seonghwa looked too good. He always looked good no matter what he did.
After a short break, Seonghwa came to the captain. He gave him something to drink. He was beautiful even while drinking!
"Hongjoong?"
"Hm?" Paralyzed, he looked at his counterpart.
"I... I think... Well, I can stand and walk for a long time now and have more strength.... Would you like to sleep with me?"
Hongjoong's eyes widened in surprise. His cheeks turned bright red and Mingi, who was walking past them both, teased Hongjoong, only to hear an annoyed "Be quiet and do your work!".
"I-I would love to," the captain breathed and suddenly felt Seonghwa's hands on him and how he was lifted up. It was nice not to be in charge for once.
"Hwa...."
"Hey, I've been practicing this for a long time. Wooyoung helped me," he said proudly and entered their cabin, placing Hongjoong on the bed. "Now get undressed."
When Seonghwa spoke to him so firmly, Hongjoong became embarrassed and undressed. "You know how to-"
"Wooyoung and San explained it to me and Yunho and Mingi confirmed it. Don't worry, I'll be careful and make you feel good, my captain."
"You... Ehm..."
"I... Thought you'd rather be bottom. I don't know, it was just a feeling. We can switch," said Seonghwa shyly.
"No! It's all right, I'd like to be bottom. I've actually always been top so that there wouldn't be any rumors about me being a wimpy captain. But I never really liked being top."
Seonghwa nodded slightly and climbed over Hongjoong after undressing. His eyes took on a bright green color. The same color Hongjoong saw when Seonghwa sang as he pulled Hongjoong down. Totally taken in by his gaze, he pulled Seonghwa towards him. He pressed his lips to his lips with desire. A heated kiss ensued and Seonghwa bit Hongjoong's lip lightly. Some blood ran down and Seonghwa quickly pulled away. He put his hand over his mouth.
"I'm so sorry. My teeth are back-" - "Hey, it's all right. Take your hand away. You're beautiful, whether you're a human or a siren. I like everything about you. So don't hide and be who you want to be!"
Seonghwa nodded with a smile, revealing his pointed teeth, which Hongjoong stroked lightly. "Don't hide your true nature. Let the siren in you have some freedom. No one hates you for it."
Seonghwa nodded and held out his fingers to Hongjoong. He moistened them and waited for Seonghwa to insert them. He was careful and loving. Hongjoong moaned softly. After a while, he asked Seonghwa to remove his fingers as he was ready. He nodded and slowly penetrated Hongjoong.
"Ahhh," he clawed at the sheet and bit his lip. Seonghwa kissed his lover gently to distract him from the pain. It worked. Hongjoong moaned loudly again and again as Seonghwa thrust into him.
"My captain... You sound beautiful. You're almost seducing me with your dulcet tones," Seonghwa whispered, causing Hongjoong to look away in embarrassment and moan again as Seonghwa thrust deeper. He knew what he was doing, as if it was instinct. He was doing everything just right. Seonghwa also gasped softly and stroked Hongjoong's hair. Hongjoong's fingers scratched Seonghwa's back, which he didn't seem to mind. He seemed to enjoy it. Spread kisses all over Hongjoong's body. He thrust into Hongjoong faster and faster, making him groan brightly and come without warning.
Surprised, Seonghwa smiled and ran his finger over the white liquid as he thrust into Hongjoong a few more times, bringing himself to climax. He poured himself into his lover and lay exhausted next to him on the bed. He licked the white liquid from his finger, causing Hongjoong to look at him in surprise. "It's from you." Was his justification and smiled slightly, Hongjoong blushed and looked fixedly at the ceiling. "It was nice. Thank you Seonghwa!"
"I have to thank you. You turned my whole life upside down and fulfilled my most cherished dream."
"Which one?"
"The opportunity to go ashore and be able to love properly without killing people. You were the first person I couldn't drag into the depths. Because your eyes showed fascination, not fear."
"Because you were the most beautiful person I've ever seen," Hongjoong admitted.
"I love you, captain."
"I love you too, Peisinoe."

I hope you enjoyed this OS. It was actually the longest one I've ever written with about 6400 words.
And also the first OS with a shipping, which is not my OTP. 🥰
The chapter name and lyrics in the blurb are from Sunmi's song Siren 🤓
Peisione is one of the sirens from Greek mythology. Peisinoe is the persuader.
Yeonjun should represent Himeropa, the gentle voice.
And Hyunjin is Ligeia, the bright-voiced one.
I actually wanted to include that, but somehow I didn't xD Well, I wanted to at least let you know here :3
Why don't you give me a little feedback on what you thought of the OS, since it is not my first language. I used a translator and changed a bit, if it was not translated right. I hope there weren't too much mistakes in it.
