10 books
@FromtheBar kindly asked for a list of ten books - or authors, or series - which I enjoy. They're supposed to be your very favourite, but my brain doesn't work that way, so these are the first ten I liked that came to mind, instead. They are in no particular order.
1) "Crime and Punishment" (Fyodor Dostoyevsky)
2) "Joy in the Morning" (P.G. Wodehouse. Anything he wrote is good, but this is possibly my very favourite of his works)
3) "The Curse of the Blue Figurine" (John Bellairs. When I was 10 or 11, he was my favourite author by a long shot. I like all his books, but this is a good place to start)
4) "Mr. Midshipman Hornblower" (C.S. Forester)
5) "Tale of Two Cities" (Charles Dickens. I also like "Oliver Twist" and "A Christmas Carol")
6) "1984" (George Orwell)
7) "Brave New World" (Aldous Huxley)
8) "Le Petit Prince" (Antoine de Saint-Exupéry)
9) *Any* short story collection by Ray Bradbury
10) "One Hundred Years of Solitude" (Gabriel Garcia Marquez)
Anyhow, I am sure I have left out some much better books than I included. I was going to include some picture books, but then I came to the conclusion that I could make a list of about 40 picture books alone, so I gave up on that idea. Meh.
