The Mandalorian-Desperation
You come across The Mandalorian and he's been injured. You end up assisting him and have a special moment.
Some swearing but that's about it.
................
Never in your lifetime did you think you'd end up crossing paths with a Mandalorian.
You hardly even realized that they existed. To you, Mandalorians were nothing more than myths.
Like you really thought there was this specific group of people who were set apart from everyone else, with their own code that they lived by.
Until the day when a real life Mandalorian came busting through your door and nearly bleed to death.
..............
You're minding your own business. You hadn't slept well last night for some strange reason. It was almost like the universe was trying to send you a message.
Maybe if you'd been paying better attention to the signs, then maybe you could have avoided what took place in your own home.
Or maybe not. Life was a funny thing sometimes. Sometimes you could be paying attention really well and some things just can't be avoided. No matter what.
.............
You hear the sounds of weapons firing. You make sure that your doors are all locked. It didn't do any damn good.
The front door was kicked in and you grab your own weapon, small blaster that barely worked half the damn time.
In steps, a, well, at first, you aren't sure what or who this person is. They slam the door shut and lean heavily against it, their breathing ragged.
"Who the hell are you?" You demand, holding the blaster out in front of you.
"And what the hell are you doing in my home?"
"I-I'm a....Mandalorian and I...need..." That's all the farther he got before he passes out cold.
..........
You set the blaster down and hurry over to the man. (At least you think he's a man.) You kneel down next to him and discover that he's bleeding. And quite badly, too.
You stand back up and quickly gather supplies to help patch him.up properly.
The Mandalorian never stirs and it worries you just a little bit. But he's still breathing, so you know he's not dead. Yet.
He has multiple wounds. However, the worst one is on his right leg. You clean up the wound and carefully wrap it after applying some healing salve that your mother swore by.
You clean and bandage his other wounds. You stare at him. He's wearing a helmet and you're reluctant to remove it, as you've heard tales about how mysterious the Mandalorians are.
However, if this man has a fatal wound on his head, he'll need his helmet removed in order for you to properly take care of it.
You slowly lift the helmet off and set it aside. Just as you'd feared, there was a nasty gash on the back of the man's head.
You tend to it and then quickly slip hus helmet back on before he regains consciousness. You clean up the supplies and put them away. You decide to boil some broth.
He'll need to get his strength back up before he can be on his way.
........
When The Mandalorian finally regains consciousness, you tell him what you did. And then offer him some broth.
"I don't need any damn broth!" He makes an attempt to stand, immediately falling back to the floor.
"You'll need something to help you regain your strength." You hold the cup out to him and he begrudgingly accepts it.
"Why are you helping me?"
"Because you needed it."
"That's not what I meant." He lifts his helmet just enough so that he can sip the broth.
"Well, what did you mean?"
"You could have turned me in."
"Not my style." Mando actually chuckles and it's kind of nice.
"So I figured." He shifts uncomfortably and you know he's just itching to get out of here.
"I know you're probably in a bit of a rush," you say quietly. "But I really think it's for the best if you at least stay overnight."
"What if someone comes for me?" Mando demands. "You could get hurt. Or worse."
"I can look after myself. You're the one I'm worried about. You lost a great deal of blood. If you try to leave now, you could end up passing out again. And whoever you're running from, they'll catch you for sure."
You move, taking the empty cup from Mando and go refill it.
"You're safer if you just stay here with me." You pause, giving him a little smile.
"I promise not to ask you any personal questions." You give him the refilled cup and Mando accepts it more willingly this time.
"Thank you."
"Don't mention it. I'm Y/N."
"Pleasure to meet you, Y/N."
..............
It's strange having this stranger here with you. You've been on your own for a while now and prefer your own company to others.
Mando is a decent sort, although he's certainly not one for conversation. But that's okay with you. You're not big on that yourself.
When bedtime comes around, you insist on letting Mando sleep in your bed. He argues profusely, not wanting to kick you out of your own bed.
"It's fine," you insist. "I have something else I can sleep on. A pallet."
Mando sighs in frustration, but eventually agrees to sleep in your bed.
You set up your pallet and settle down for the night. Although, with Mando lying in the other room, you're not sure just how much you'll sleep.
...............
Mando, unfortunately, insists on taking off the next day. You don't like it, but you know damn well that you won't be able to convince him otherwise.
Before he goes, he lifts his helmet off and gives you a gentle kiss. Your heart is beating wildly in your chest. You touch his handsome face and Mando smiles.
"Thank you, my sweet girl. For helping me when I desperately needed it."
You start to cry, just a little. Mando holds you close and you cling to him for a few, precious moments.
"Maybe someday you'll come back this way." Mando kisses you once more and then, slips his helmet back on.
"I'll try. Goodbye." You sniffle, but try to stay strong.
"Goodbye, Mando. May the force be with you." Mando just nods and walks away.
