The lost Shelby - Part 15 - Tommy x John x Reader
Eight hours.......some eight hours it would take for the train to travel from Waterloo Station to Edinburgh. The capital of Scotland seeming to not only be somewhere far enough away from both Birmingham and London for comfort; but also, the last place that anyone might think to come and look for her. (Y/n) putting her bags on the parcel shelf above her head, before taking a seat in the otherwise empty carriage.
The man in the ticket office had given her the strangest look over the top of his horn-rimmed spectacles, as she had made her way back up to his counter, looking ever so slightly like she had just jumped from a moving train. He seeming even more confused when she had this time asked, what train would take her the furthest away from London, that day; and as soon as he had said Edinburgh, and that it would be leaving the station in just a few more minutes, she had made her decision. (Y/n) paying for the ticket and thanking him for his help, before making her way to platform seven, and taking her seat onboard. Yet as good an idea as she thought it was at that moment, the travel time meant that she had little else to do but think. And thinking was the last thing that she had wanted to do. She still not sure how things had turned out like this; how she could have gone from happily waking up that morning in Alfie's arms, his scent surrounding her and making her feel safe; sure, that she would be fine with spending every day just like that. To now be sitting on a train to Edinburgh, back into the unknown, and never wanting to see Alfie again.......or at least that was what she was trying to convince herself of; (Y/n) suddenly realising that she was crying and that she couldn't stop. Her head dropping into her hands, as the tears just kept coming and coming. She loved Alfie, she really did; yet not for one moment had he been truthful with her. He had lied right to her face from the first time he had heard her last name; and now all she could think was that the rest of it was a lie, too. That all the soft touches, gentle caresses, were nothing but part of a plan that he had had from the start. And she.......she had been foolish enough to fall for all of it, for that charm and the twinkle in his eye. Naïve enough to believe that a man like Alfie could want her for anything other than business. She not sure whether she would ever......could ever recover from this; for she had given him her all, her everything, and all he had done was hurt her more than Tommy ever could.
"Stop it.........." She hissed at herself, as she roughly pushed the tears away from her cheeks, with the sleeves of her coat.
"Stop crying you stupid woman........do you think Alfie is crying.......do you think he gives a shit about you.......? He is probably glad to see the back of you; sick of seeing your stupid face. Now stop......this is the last time you think of him, the last time you concern yourself with any of them. You have better things to do........" She continued to growl. Annoyed at her feelings, at her emotions; at having allowed herself to be used. But no more........no more. Alfie was now a thing of the past; a memory that would fade in time. And as for her so called family, well.........she never wanted to see any of them again either. When she got to Scotland, she would become someone else; she would change her name, take on a new persona. She would start her life anew, leave all those things behind her and do what she could to find a little happiness for herself. (Y/n) straightening her body and calming her breathing, before turning to look out of the window.

Tommy and John hadn't really said anything to one another as the train that steadily made its way up to Manchester. After all, what does one say after you walk in on your baby sister nearly getting fucked by Alfie Solomons, to her then pointing a gun at them; before doing her best to run away again. John not sure what was going on in his brother's head; though he was sure it was a lot, despite the fact that Tommy appeared as unaffected by all this, as he was everything else. That, and he hated to think about what would happen at home, when they told Pol about all this; about how that had had (Y/n) in their grasp and let her go again. Though at least with them following her, they would know where she went and could get people to keep an eye on her.......
"Manchester Piccadilly station........." The conductor called out.
"Next stop, Manchester Piccadilly station............" Tommy taking one last drag of his current cigarette, before dropping it to the floor and stubbing it out with the heel of his shoe.
"As soon as we slow down enough, we get off. Find somewhere to watch tha rest of tha train from. As soon as we see (Y/n), we follow her, see where she goes. Find somewhere ta stay nearby for tha night and give Arthur a call, let him know what's going on. Well make a few enquires in the city in the morning, then head back ta Birmingham.........." Tommy said, as he got to his feet. John just nodding as he joined him.

"Tommy.......where tha fuck is she..........?" John asked urgently, as he and Tommy watched all the passengers climb out of the carriages. The crowd slowly moving away from the train, yet there was still not sign of (Y/n). Tommy saying nothing as his brother made his way back to the locomotive and looked into every carriage. He not seeing the small smile that came to Tommy's lips..........(Y/n) really proving herself to be a fucking Shelby..........
