Your Side. My Side.

Narrator's POV

"Yeah!" Bruce and Tony busted through the door of room 205 cheering and carrying Stephen. Stephen laughed.

"Ow!" Tony howled. "Wizard, you were amazing!"

"Yeah, Stephen that was awesome." Bruce said, carrying Stephen on his shoulders now.

"Whoa, okay Bruce." Stephen smiled nervously.

"How did you do that? You won us our third trophy." Tony said.

"I tossed it into the Mirror Dimension." Stephen said.

""Mirror Dimension"?" Tony questioned.

Stephen floated down from Bruce's shoulders. "Yeah." He answered. He made symbols with his fingers and opened his arms. Suddenly there were shattering sounds all around the three, and floating crystals appeared to surround them."The Mirror Dimension." Stephen's voice echoed.

"Whoa." Tony's eyes twinkled with curiousness. Stephen smiled at him.

"This is amazing." Bruce said.

"In the Mirror Dimension no one can hear you or see you, the events that happen here cannot interfere with the outside world." Stephen said. Tony was climbing walls and jumping up and down. He crawled on the ceiling.

"Nothing?" Bruce looked at Stephen.

"We use it to contain threats and dark magic that could be potentially dangerous." Stephen explained.

"There's dark magic out there too?" Bruce asked.

"Whoa. TeHeHehEheHEhEhehheHEhe." Tony was enjoying himself.

"Yes, lots." Stephen couldn't take his eyes off of Tony. He was having fun, he looked like a three year old. "But that's not important right now." Stephen looked at Bruce. "Enjoy yourself, you've earned it." He smiled at him.

Bruce smiled back at him. He jumped up and floated to the ceiling. "Ah." He gasped as he was heading straight for it. Stephen moved his hands about, expanding the ceiling. Things around the room became abstract and move about.

"Wow..." Bruce was at a loss of words. This was amazing. Stephen had taken his breath away.

Stephen was happy to spark curiousness and happiness into his friends. It was satisfying, calming, and it made him feel happy.

"Rargh!"

"Ah!" Stephen gasped as Tony snuck up behind him and startled him. He dropped his hands suddenly, making the mirror dimension disappear. Tony and Bruce fell directly on Tony's bed. There was a loud crack. The cloak levitated Stephen in the air. He looked down at his friends. Tony was laughing. Stephen landed softly on the ground. "Guys, are you okay?" He asked.

"Yeah, I'm fine." Bruce said. He was assisted by Stephen.

"I'm so sorry. Tony just scared me." Stephen said.

"It's fine Stephen, I'm fine." Bruce reassured him. "I can't say the same for Tony's bed." Bruce said, looking down at the bed.

"Wait. What?" Tony sat up quickly.

All three looked down at Tony's bed. It was broken in two.

"Oh man, I just got that one. The last one I burned during an experiment." Tony said. "They told me that they wouldn't let me get a new one til next year." Tony said.

"I'm sorry Tony." Stephen said. "Look, you can have mine."

"No, no." Tony sighed. "I don't sleep anyway."

"Tony please get some sleep. I'm very worried about your health." Stephen looked at him.

"It's fine Wizard. I'll just find something to keep myself busy."

"Tony no. Due to your lack of sleep, your body is about to collapse. You should get the bed. It'll be easier on your back." Stephen said.

"Thank goodness. I was hoping you'd give up the bed-"

"Why don't you both share it?" Bruce suggested. Tony and Stephen looked at him. "It's big enough for both of you. You'll both fit in it."

"Hm." Tony looked at the bed. "I guess that could work." He said.

"I'm a steady sleeper, so you don't have to worry about too much." Stephen told Tony.

"Problem solved." Bruce said. He looked at his watch. "Well, I'd love to chat some more; but it's past my curfew." Bruce said. "I'll see you tomorrow." He said.

"Bye Bruce." Stephen waved.

"See ya." Tony said.

Bruce was gone.

Tony turned to the bed. "It is pretty late." He said.

"Mhm." Stephen was already in his blue striped pajamas. He grabbed a book off the bookshelf.

Tony ha gotten through taking his shirt off, and throwing it somewhere. "What are you reading this time?" He asked Stephen.

"It's not a very important book." Stephen said. "Just my childhood favorite."

"Which is?" Tony asked, taking his socks off.

""Where the Wild Things Are"." Stephen answered quietly. His cheeks had the slightest hint of pink on them.

"Ah." Tony said. "My mother used to read me that book." He unbuckled his belt, and removed his pants; exposing his boxers.

"Uh..." Stephen's face was rose red now as he stared at his almost fully naked roommate.

"Problem?" Tony asked, looking back at Stephen. He switched the lights off.

"No." Stephen cleared his throat. "Not at all." He looked away, and made a sphere of light appear out of his palm. It floated next to his side, the light was warm and inviting but also bright enough for Stephen to see the words on the pages of the book.

"Alright Wizard, don't stay up too late reading. You wanted me to get some sleep, so you gotta get some too." Tony said, laying down next to Stephen. He faced his back to him.

Stephen smiled. "Goodnight Tony."

"Night." Tony closed his eyes.

"Hah..." Stephen sighed. He shut his book and looked over at Tony, who had just kicked him...again. Thirty seven. That was the thirty seventh time Tony had kicked him in his sleep. "I swear, I will wake you up if you kick me one more time." Stephen whispered.

Tony kicked him again.

Stephen tapped his shoulder.

"Hey could you stop bothering me? I'm trying to sleep." Tony groaned, turning his back to Stephen.

"Actually, Tony. You've been kicking me all night." Stephen whispered.

"No, you keep moving into my side." Tony said.

"No, I've been here the entire time. You keep shifting over to my side and kicking me. I've counted." Stephen said.

Tony propped himself up with his elbows. "Hey, do you actually mind? I'm trying to get some sleep."

"Well I was just..." Stephen scooted a little closer toward Tony.

"Um, what are you doing?" Tony asked.

"Scooting over now that I can. I was falling off the bed, and didn't want to wake you up to ask you if you could scoot so I scoot. Now that you're awake and moved a little, I can get a little more space." Stephen said.

"No, I don't think so." Tony placed a pillow between them. "See this pillow? It's a line. You don't cross the line. That's your side, this is my side." Tony said.

"But you have so much more room than me." Stephen pointed at the empty space beside Tony.

"Uh, that's because I need it so that way I won't kick you." Tony said.

"Ha. So you admit it. You were kicking me." Stephen said.

"No I wasn't." Tony turned pink. Stephen raised a brow. "Shut up!" He shoved the pillow in Stephen's face.

"You crossed the line! You broke the only rule!" Stephen jumped on him, laughing.

"It was a made up rule! It wasn't real!" Tony laughed too.

There were gentle knocks on the door. No one answered them.

"Tony." Bruce peeked his head in the room. He looked around, searching for Tony. Then he found him.

He was in bed with Stephen. They were tangled with each other, and the sheets were a mess. The pillows were on the floor. He looked down at the ground, giving a soft smile. He closed the door gently.
