The "B" Word

Narrator's POV

"Well guys, it's has come to our last day of spring break before we go back to school. So I saved the best for last." Bruce said, standing in front of Thor, Tony, and Stephen. "The River Walk." He said.

"Isn't that just a market along the river side?" Tony asked.

"Not just a market. It's restaurants, shops, games. You name it. They have everything." Bruce said. "And! Get this, you can ride a small ferry down the river that explains the history of the establishment." Bruce said.

"Wow, so exciting." Thor rolled his eyes.

"I know!" Bruce jumped up.

"Sorry Brucie, but we didn't go on this trip to go learn-"

"That sounds like a great learning opportunity." Stephen smiled.

"-about not important stuff." Tony turned his sentence right back around. "I bet the place is just pouring with history." He said.

"I knew you guys would like it." Bruce smiled. "Now, come on. I don't want to waste a single second."

"Can Robert come?" Thor asked, standing up. He had a baby carrier around himself. Robert sat in it, looking at Bruce with his beady little eyes.

"Of course he can." Bruce told him.

"So, what should we do first?" Bruce asked.

There were lots of people at the tourist attraction. There were small businesses and stands by the river side. There were restaurants and creameries. There were women in flowery dresses with large skirts. There was a band playing music as they danced.

"Bruce, can we got get some ice cream? I really want some." Thor said, looking at Bruce.

"Sure, just as long as you don't rub it on yourself." Bruce said.

"Yes." Thor almost took off running, but Bruce pulled him back.

"You guys coming?" Bruce turned to Stephen and Tony.

"You guys go ahead. I think Stephen is more interested in the history of this place." Tony said, pointing back at Stephen, who was reading a historical marker.

"Wow, Tony! Did you know this place originated in 1734 as just a small creek?" Stephen said.

"Oh, I see." Bruce winked at Tony.

"Huh?" Tony raised a brow.

"You guys go ahead and take your time." Bruce kept winking.

"Why are you winking?" Tony asked.

"We'll make sure to take our time also." Bruce said, walking away with Thor. "We'll take our sweet time." He laughed.

Tony watched him walk away with Thor. "Dorks." He said. He turned back to Stephen. "Alright, what do you want to do?" He asked.

"Everything." Stephen said. "This place is full of so much to see, to smell, to hear, to taste." His eyes sparkled with wonder.

Tony laughed, shaking his head, looking down. "Oh, Stephen." He felt a trembling hand take his. "WAH!" He got pulled.

"Oh gods." Thor said, overwhelmed as he looked through a glass at the ice cream flavors the creamery had.

"What is it?" Bruce asked, as he took a lick from his fudge flavored ice cream.

"They have a much bigger selection than the one we went to last time." Thor said.

"Oh, don't worry sir." Said the girl behind the counter. "We have more to choose from." She said, pointing down the counter top that had even more ice cream selections.

Thor sighed. "How am I suppose to choose one out of the hundreds of flavors they have?"

"What's your favorite color?" Bruce asked.

"Green." Thor answered.

"Okay, what-" Bruce stopped his talking. He looked at Thor and blushed a little. "Okay..." He got his voice back. "What shade of green?" He asked.

"Just green." Thor said. "Your normal green." He smiled at Bruce.

"O-Oh." He looked away as he felt his cheeks get hot. He spotted two green colored ice creams. "Look, they have green tea ice cream and kiwi ice cream. They're both green." Bruce said.

"Oooooo~" Thor went over to get a better look. "Can I sample some of these two?" He asked the girl.

"Sure." She got two little plastic spoons of each flavor and gave them to Thor.

"Can I get some for him?" Thor pointed at Bruce.

"No, Thor. I-"

"Of course." She smiled at him and handed Bruce two little spoons as well.

"Thank you." Bruce said. He tasted them both.

"Well, which one do you like better?" Thor asked.

"I like the kiwi one, it's rich in flavor. It surprised me on how the flavor was a little sour at first but then-"

"I'll take the kiwi." Thor said.

"Alrighty." The girl said, scooping some up into a waffle cone. She handed it to Thor.

"Thank you." He said. He took a bite of the cone, already eating half of it.

"Thor, don't eat it too quickly. You could get a brain freeze." Bruce warned.

"Nonsense." Thor laughed. "Nothing is ever too strong for- AH!" He grabbed his temples. Bruce sighed and shook his head. "What is this?" Thor asked.

"It's called a brain freeze." Bruce told him.

"Let's get on the ferry." Stephen said, getting in line for the ferry with Tony. He looked into a pamphlet. "It says here that they give you a tour around the canal and explain the history behind the businesses here. Oooo, Tony they have a..." Stephen's voice trailed off.

"Hold on." Tony said, crouching down to tie his shoe. "...then you pull." He pulled his lace, only to have it become undone again. "What the hell?" He asked himself. He began to do the knot again, unaware that he line was moving.

Stephen was so caught up in reading the information on the pamphlet, that he didn't notice Tony was missing. He took a seat on the ferry.

"...then pull." Tony's laces fell into a nice knot. "Ah, there." He stood up. "What were you saying-" The ferry was gone, and so was Stephen. "Stephen?" He looked around. He couldn't see between all these people, so he climbed a tree. He saw the ferry Stephen was in . "Don't worry Stephen! I'm coming!" He got down and chased the ferry.

"Doesn't that sound exciting?" Stephen said, turning to the body next to him. It wasn't Tony. "Oh, sorry." He apologized and looked around for Tony. "Tony." He said. No one turned around. "Tony?" He stood up.

"Please, remain seated. We wouldn't want you going overboard." Said the navigator.

Stephen sat back down.

"Stephen!"

He turned behind him. There was nobody. He swore he just heard his name.

"Stephen!"

This time it was in front of him.

"Stephen!"

He looked around. That's when he saw Tony on a bridge ahead.

"Tony." He smiled. They got closer to the bridge. "What are you doing up there?" He asked.

"Well, I stopped to tie my shoe and-"

"Hold on." Stephen said as the ferry went under the bridge. Tony ran to the other side. "Okay, go on." He said.

"I looked up to see the ferry was gone." Tony explained.

"Oh." Stephen laughed. He shook his head. "I'm coming." He opened a portal and stepped in it, appearing next to Tony. He hugged him.

"Whoa. What's with the hug?" Tony asked, a little shook.

"What? I can't hug my boyfriend?" Stephen asked.

Tony gasped. "Stephen, you called me your "b word"."

"Yeah. I did." Stephen said. "That doesn't freak you out, does it?" He asked.

"Of course not." Tony smiled at him. He took Stephen by the hip and pulled him close. "Because that means I can called you my "b word"." He smirked. He pulled his lips closer to Stephen's ears. "My bitch." He whispered.

Stephen blushed a bright red, not from embarrassment you see, but from anger. "Urgh!" He pulled away.

"Oh, come on." Tony laughed. "It was funny."

"Don't talk to me." Stephen turned his back to him.

"Oh, come here." Tony came up from behind and embraced him, stuffing his face in Stephen's neck. "You know you love me."

Stephen couldn't stay mad him. "You know I know." He turned to Tony and gave him a quick peck on the lips.

They both laughed, holding each other close.

"Hey guys." Tony greeted Bruce and Thor as they met in the parking lot.

"Hey." Bruce smiled.

"What's wrong, Thor?" Stephen asked Thor.

"The lady gave me bad ice cream." Thor responded.

Bruce laughed. "He got his first brain freeze ever."

Tony laughed. "I thought you were the toughest there is."

"Haha." Thor mocked. "Let's go home. Robert is hungry."

Everyone got into the Jeep. It was Thor's turn to drive.

"Everyone ready?" He asked, looking through the rearview mirror at Stephen and Tony. They nodded nervously.

"Yeah, let me just..." Bruce made sure he was strapped in. When he was done, he put on a football helmet. "Yup. All ready to go."

"Alright." Thor smiled and gripped the steering wheel. "Let's go."
