Just Happy Accidents

Narrator's POV

"And then he kissed my cheek and just left me standing there in the hallway for like  fifteen minutes." Tony said, laying on his back, facing the ceiling on his bed.

"Uh-huh." Bruce nodded, listening to his friend babbling about Stephen. He was so happy for him.

"I looked like an idiot." Tony said.

"Isn't that your normal look?" Bruce asked. Tony looked up at him. "Okay, okay." Bruce laughed.

"I'm serious Bruce. What am I suppose to do?" Tony asked.

"Ask him out." Bruce answered.

Tony propped himself up on his elbows. "You think it's time?"

"It was time a long time ago. You two have liked each other since like the second day he arrived." Bruce said.

"But what if I mess up?" Tony asked. Anxiety kicked in. "What if I end up saying things like I said last time?"

"You think too much Tony." Bruce smiled down at his friend. "Just go with the flow."

"I go too slow, then I speed up. I talk too much, then not enough. I overthink."

"Then don't think at all." Bruce told his friend. "Just let your heart carry you. Let your emotions spill. Vomit your feelings out."

"So you're saying I should just to tell him how I feel?"

"Exactly." Bruce said. "Maybe ask him out." An idea sprung into his head. "Yeah! Ask him out on a date."

"A date?! Oh, no, no, no. Bruce, I'm not ready for that." Tony sat up, shaking his hands.

"Do it." Bruce. "Just do it. Take him out. Oh! And spice it up. Do something that's out of your comfort zone, you know?" Bruce moved his shoulders.

"Like why?" Tony asked.

"Write him a poem. Or! Or because you're always teasing him about being a wizard, do some magic tricks. Card tricks. Chicks dig that." Bruce said. "Thor seems to enjoy them."

"Bruce I can't do that.... That's not me." Tony said.

"Then take him out somewhere he's never been." Bruce suggested.

"Even if I did, where would I take a wizard? He's probably seen it all." Tony sighed.

Bruce smirked. "Oh, not all. Trust me."

Tony sat in chemistry class, across from Stephen. It was the only class they shared together. Anyway, he was mixing chemicals, and Stephen was reading a book about the current experiment they were doing.

Tony had goggles over his eyes, yes he was reckless and wild; but he couldn't risk losing his sight. How else would he be able to work?

He looked over at Stephen, hoping his wizard would pick his head up from his book. Yeah, that wasn't happening. Tony turned to waving. He waved and made hand signals at Stephen. Still, Stephen didn't budge.

"Pst." Tony whispered. "Stephen." He said. Stephen still didn't pick his head up, he continued peacefully reading. "Steeeeeephen." He called. "Stephen." He said in a low tone. Stephen was not taking his eyes off his book. "Steph-"

"Anthony." Called the professor.

"Yes, Mr. Bunch?" He asked, looking at the tall male professor that wore glasses.

"Got something to share with the class?"

"No, Mr. Bunch." Tony shook his head.

"Well, then I suggest you keep it quiet unless you want to guide the class on this experiment." Mr. Bunch crossed his arms, and sat at his desk. He looked down at some papers.

"Tch." Tony rolled his eyes and sighed. He sat down at his desk. He watched Stephen pick up a beaker with a green liquid. How was he going to get his attention?

His eyes fell upon the lab instructions. Bingo!

He picked up the paper and began to fold it. He brought the top two corners into the middle, then folded it in half. He then folded the ends out. Ah! A paper airplane. He picked it up, admiring his creation. He looked at Stephen. He only had to throw it in a straight line. He aimed. He acquired his target. Aaaaaaaaand...

-snatch-

Mr. Bunch had just walked by and ripped the paper airplane from Tony's hands.

"I thought you were past these things, Stark." He crushed the airplane in his hand, and walked away.

"Ah." Tony sighed. He frowned and placed a hand under his chin. He rolled his pencil up and down his desk. He watched as Stephen mixed chemicals over the Bunsen burner. Smoke appeared from the beaker Stephen held.

GASP

An idea. Tony turned on his burner and began to mix chemicals in a beaker. If he could just get this mixture correct, he'd be able to make a message with smoke and float it over to Stephen! Yes. This idea was amazing! Yes. All ideas are good ideas.

"Okay... Then I just put it to boil. Aaaaaand..."

>KABOOM<

Pink dust flew everywhere, students coughed, waving at the air to clear the pink dust.

In the middle of the classroom, Tony stood at his desk with pink all over his desk, torso, and face. His mouth was slightly opened, and his goggles were covered in pink. He pulled them up, leaving a pink trace over his eyes and half of his forehead.

Everyone was staring at Tony, including Stephen.

Tony noticed Stephen noticing him.

Words. Together. Put. Hello. Say. Words.

"H-Hi." Tony waved at Stephen.

Stephen gave a quietly chuckle and looked away, shaking his head.

And that was enough to put a big goofy smile on Tony's face.

>Ba-dum< >Ba-dum< >Ba-dum<

His heart pumped in his ears.

"Mhm~" Tony chuckled, quietly to himself as he kept his half lidded eyes on Stephen.

"Anthony Stewart Stark." Came Mr. Bunch's voice.

He grabbed Tony by the arm and pulled him out the door.

Tony didn't care. All he could think about was Stephen.
