A Spider-girl
When she looked again
only herself and the spiders remained.
Red-spotted dress and black disposition,
ipso facto
- a spider too.
None but them, and none they were,
were anything to the crows outside.
In their little world,
their glinting legs like blades,
perfected their crafted webs,
feeling like silk and shining
like teeth in the darkness.
The day was long but oh,
the night was glorious.
Glowing like Venus - a goddess.
Snapping like a Venus flytrap -
monstrously tinted green.
And the thunder, it rumbled and roared on and on.
It became the music of lemons and acid.
But so too, the spider-girl departed.
And in the end, there was only a lonely girl
and some lonely spiders.
