Yoda Meetings
~Yula POV~
It took every muscle in my face to not grimace in utter annoyance as I walked into Yoda's Meditation room.
"Master, you called me?" I asked as I awkwardly stood in the doorway.
He opened his eyes and smiled kindly,"Call you, I did. Take a seat, please," he said as he gestured to another seat across from him.
I walked over and sat down cross legged, praying to the Force that he didn't make me meditate 'to clear my head' or some shit like that.
"Why I called you here, do you know?" He asked.
"No clue," I said back bluntly as I looked around, taking in the incredibly peaceful surroundings of this seemingly bland room.
"Mm, thought that, I did. Discovered something interesting, your Master's doctor has," he said mysteriously, as if I knew exactly what he's talking about.
I shrugged,"And what's that?"
He waited a moment before continuing with his train of jumbled words,"Recovered almost impossibly quickly, Lorus has," he had a slightly playful smirk on his face as he kept leaving me hanging.
"Almost?" I asked, thinking that's what he wants me to say. Conversations with him were like a strange puzzle.
"Healed her, you did. Not just normal healing, however. Battle meditation, it was," he said with a wise smile.
"But I was the only other Force user there. Did she use it on herself?" I asked as I tried to conceive any way that it wasn't me. It couldn't have been. Right?
"Mm, exactly, Young Gafomaar. You, it was. Awakened this ability within you, your Master's suffering did," he said as he closed his eyes and appeared to begin meditation.
I just stared at him blankly. I couldn't have used Battle fucking meditation! That's insane.
He just chuckled,"Sense your shock, I do. Quite amusing, it is," he said as he opened his eyes again and smiled his old man smile.
I couldn't help but chuckle a little,"I'm sorry Master Yoda, I just didn't think I could do that. I'm only a padawan." And not ever a good one at that.
"Hm, then a unique case, you seem to be," he said wisely with a slightly humorous tone.
I smiled a bit,"How exactly do I control this? Because I definitely didn't do it on purpose."
He closed his eyes again and began to meditate,"In time, the answer will become clear. Meditate on it now, you should," he said as he slipped out of the physical realm and off into the cosmic Force... or something. I don't know, that's how the books phrase it. I did the same, but I hated meditation. Though, compared to the battle field, this time it was too peaceful not to enjoy.
~Cira POV~
It was about four o'clock when I had woken up from a much needed 3 hour nap. As I sat there humming to the rhythm of my heart rate coming from the small machine beside my head, I heard a knock and then the Twi'lek nurse poked her head in.
"I don't mean to interrupt ma'am, but I've been notified of an urgent call from your Captain.
May I patch it through to you?" She asked very professionally.
"Yes, thank you," I replied as I sat up and used the Force to pull over the Holo-projector and it's transmitter to my lap. The blue hues of light flickered to life and I was greeted by Key and his tucked away, long, brown hair.
"It's good to see you in good shape, ma'am," he said as he stood at attention.
"At ease, Captain. It's good to see a familiar face." It really was good to see a Trooper. It's been only a few days but I felt oddly tense here, with all the silence. It seemed backwards to me though.
"Our presence has been requested with the Chief Republic Strategist, Kabel Laboris," Key said. I could sense a good deal of excitement coming from him.
"Who exactly do they want to see?" I asked.
"All of us. The entire squadron, including you and Commander Gafomaar." For some weird reason I hated when people called her 'Commander.' She's s Jedi, first and foremost. The same goes for me, it just didn't anger me as much.
"Today? I don't think they'll let me leave the room, but I could Jedi mind trick them," I said jokingly with a slight chuckle.
Key laughed a bit,"I believe that as long as Commander Gafomaar is there, you can skip out or be there by Hologram."
It took brute force to not grimace at the formal titles,"Just call when you're there. I'll be here," I was about to end it there but decided to add something,"Oh, and when there's no higher-up's listening, calling her Yula is fine."
He nodded,"Noted," I could see him glance around quickly,"You should be expecting a call later, Cira," a very apparent smirk made its way into his face and it made me laugh.
"I'm looking forward to it, Key," I replied with a slightly smirking smile before hanging up.
I wonder if Yula knows anything about this meeting? It sounded important.
As the nurses made their daily rounds, one came to check up on me. This time it was a male Rodian with shiny, green hued skin.
"Generally, how have you been feeling? Medically speaking, I mean," he said as he pulled up my file on his holopad and prepared to write.
He must have gotten used to Jedi since he had to clarify he meant how we were feeling 'medically.'
"Weak, obviously, but pretty good considering. I figured I'd still be feeling symptoms of that, uh, poison?" After all, I wasn't sure what exactly it was.
He appeared to chuckle a little,"You're correct, it's poison. Typically, that dosage you got would have critically injured you at least. We can't medically explain why you weren't,"he said as his voice trailed off and I could almost see the gears in his brain start turning, trying to find an explanation.
I thought for a moment before having a 'oh what the hell' moment,"You've beard if the Force, right?" I asked him.
"Erm, yes. We see plenty of Jedi here who, like you, got hurt in the war." His voice was extremely analytical when he spoke.
"Well, essentially it's what connects all things in the Universe. It's not a medical explanation, but the Force is why I was saved. And recovering," I tried to explain. Admittedly, I was trying to sound very wise just to trick him into believing me for a second. Medical experts didn't exactly believe in the Force, but I understand why.
"How, exactly?" He asked as he looked up from his holopad and awaited an answer I knew made absolutely no sense.
I smiled a bit and held back laughter at his expectant face,"My apprentice used the Force to heal me. That's about as specific as it gets," I said frankly with the biggest shrug I could muster, which wasn't much.
He stared at me blankly before seeming to blink back to reality,"We'll never understand Jedi that pass through here. You all seem to..," his voice trailed off as he searched for words that didn't offend us, even though he wouldn't have meant it.
I laughed,"I get it. We all subscribe to the theory of the Force and you rely on facts and evidence. Regardless, science and the Force saved me, so."
He chuckled a little,"Ring one of us up if you need anything," he said as he exited the room.
I sighed. Just like that, another person left. I actually missed Yula's constant teenage attitude. The snark and rude comments would keep me entertained right about now. But the lust for some action will do until then.
