~Yula POV~
I've never been on this end of the Republic's justice. It sucked. The cell was tiny, plain, and smelled horrid. It was freezing cold and the walls were sound proof, which meant I couldn't hear anything happening outside.

Paranoia and fear had soon consumed me. Not necessarily fear of paying the price for the murders, but fear of who was after us. It could be some lowly Republic worker or a bounty hunter looking to stir up trouble, or it could be a Seperatist attack. That was terrifying.

I kept telling myself to calm down, meditate for the first time in months, just breathe. But for some reason, I couldn't. I tried to push out the controversies and crazy theories running amuck in my head.

How could the Republic do this to us?

No. I can't begin to think that. That's the kind of thinking that gets you to act, thus getting into more than enough trouble.

But it was true.

Cira and I have been loyal Republic soldiers for years. For Force sake, I started my service when I was 14. 14! We risk our lives unlike anyone else here constantly for a morsel of information on our enemies. And now they've noticed, making our missions that much worse. Half of them are traps, but they're all deadly.

My mind kept me up all night, and the paranoia exhausted me even more. I could barely comprehend anything when two Clones, outfitted with their red and white armor, appeared in three doorway.

"You and General Lorus will be allowed to speak with a Lawyer to discuss your hearing." His voice was robotic. Not like Fitz or Key. Or even Wing for that matter. But especially Fitz. They were their own people, not just some Clone.

I nodded my head and got up to follow them. They eerily stood behind me with their guns held in ready position. God it was terrifying.

They did the same thing to Cira. I couldn't believe my eyes though. She actually looked perfectly fine. Cool, calm, collected, like always. All I could sense was tranquility and an odd confidence. I'm sure I was the opposite.

"It's gonna be fine, the truth will come to light soon," Cira said while we were escorted down the never-ending, metal hallway. A piece of me believed her, but a piece of me knew that if the Republic would even dare to accuse us of this, they could just as easily convict us.

The Clones escorted us into a plain interrogation room, only a single table with three chairs decorated the room. Cira and I sat in the two chairs on one side, facing the door. Once the guards left our eyes met for s brief moment and I panicked.

"What is happening?!" I practically shouted and threw my hands up in the air.

"Okay, first of all, quiet down. Second, I only know as much as you do. But don't worry, we'll find out soon and be able to disregard these accusations," she calmly reassured me. How could she be so calm when she was one bad step away from being sent to prison for a life sentence? How could she be so calm when someone seemed to be after us? Was it Grievous trying to finish the job?

I took a deep breathe for the first time since last night. "Okay."

Soon enough after that, a rushed looking Kabel Laboris burst into the room and stood behind the chair opposite to us.

"Sir?" Cira asked, clearly confused and startled.

His face was nothing but serious. I could sense concern. Fear. "Answer me this first. Did you do it?" His voice was firm and serious enough to make an army of Droids stand down.

"No, we didn't even know the murders had taken place," Cira said defiantly, confidence and calmness in her voice.

He let out s sigh of relief,"Not that that really proves anything, but I know you two wouldn't even think about doing such horrid things. Before they know I'm in here for too long, I need to warm you."

"Of what?" Cira asked innocently, as if there really was no worry, like she's been saying all this time.

He shook his head,"You're too young, General Lorus. Too young... and too trusting,"he looked back at the door and then to us and his voice grew quieter,"You're in trouble. Stay strong and with the truth, but whoever is after you definitely had you two in mind as the alleged killers. People like this don't fight fair."

"Wait, what do you mean? Cira asked worriedly, almost frantically.

"I can't say more. Good luck." With that, he whipped around and calmly strode out the door as if he hadn't just given us a condescending warning.

He was right though. Even I could see that Cira, who was only 23, was blind to the Republic's bad side. She didn't want to see it. And neither did I, but we were living it. Now it's time we open our eyes.

The interrogation was short lived. With our status as Jedi, it was hard for even the most by-the-book Republic Officer to believe we did it.

Our meeting with the Lawyer assigned to us was even shorter. We told her what we knew, she told us what she knew. Basically the four Representatives were poisoned. When they got to their suite near the Senate building to prepare for their testimony the following morning, someone slipped something into their drinks. They had other suspects as well, which was good for us. Mostly people who were a part of Senator Chu Chi's faction who didn't want Pantora to be forced into the Seperatist. The most promising suspect, aside from us, was the Living Coordinator for the Pantoran Senator. He was given the job or arranging things for the Reps, meaning he had direct access to their drinks. However, they think it could be us because we were the ones who originally told the Reps that they should testify on Corasaunt. This was all just so much. But things looked like they were in our favor.

We'd been in this same room for hours when finally the lawyer left to go prepare our case. She seemed good enough, though I was hoping I'd be able to grill the Senate about who insane they're acting.

Finally, Cira and I could take s breathe. Though it seems like Cira's been fine all day. I don't know how she does it.

I sat back in my chair and leaned my head back, closing my eyes against the fluorescent lights in the ceiling.

"I can sense your unsettlement. What's going on?"  Cira asked as she swiveled her chair to face mine.

I leaned forward again and looked down at my feet. "We are on trial here. Not exactly peaceful stuff."

She raised an eye brow,"It's in our favor now. There's something else isn't there?" Her expression softened and she lowered her voice,"If there's something else going on, I can help."

I could feel my eyes unconsciously wandering from side to side, then back to the ground. "This whole war, it just doesn't make much sense to me. I don't know. I don't feel like I should be fighting it..," my voice trailed off and I felt guilt.

"Why so?"  Her voice remained gentle.

I leaned back in he chair and took a deep breathe. In, and out. "I'm gonna be 17 in a day. I'm not even a legal adult. I shouldn't be fighting Wars."

"Well, as Jedi it is our responsibility to fight for those who can't," she pointed out.

"But this whole thing about us being "Peacekeepers." I don't always buy it." The words just spilled out, I wasn't even thinking about what I was saying anymore. I didn't care.

"We are making a difference, Yula. More than either of us know."

I didn't say anything back, and luckily my timing was good. Two Clones came to take us to our waiting chambers. Pretty much an upgrade cell, complete with an actual bathroom.

Cira fell asleep, peacefully as always. After all, ignorance is bliss.

I laid there in the cot, wrapped in a blanket with my robe on the floor. My knees were hugged close to my chest and I rested my chin on them. For some reason, no matter how much my bloodshot, exhausted, drained eyes begged for sleep, it never came. I haven't slept in over 24 hours. This was only one time, but this entire war. This responsibility. The fact that nobody seems to see anything that I do. It all came crashing down. I flopped on my back and rolled on my side, facing the wall. Being sure to not wake Cira, I cried and hoped sleep would come visit. It finally came to me when the tears couldn't come anymore.

Just keep learning.
Just keep fighting.
Keep going.
Trust.
They'll see soon enough what you see.
