~PART I~

The Battle of Geonosis, marking the beginning of the Clone Wars, was a hard fought one. Had it not been for the clones, all of us Jedi would have perished in one of the worst ways. By a droid.

The only good part was getting to see my old Master again. Master Kya Valor. A great mentor. Calm, decisive, honest. Apprenticing her had so far been the best years of my life. It inspired me to take on my first padawan, since I was recently promoted to Knighthood.

However, that was shortly interrupted by Separatists and Battle Droids. I hadn't been following the Senate conflicts too closely but I knew one thing; both sides have very good reasons behind their stances, but the Republic is certainly taking a more moral approach.

After the gun ship let everyone off at the docking bay of the Jedi Temple, I heard a rushed,"Cira!" from one of the other ships.
I looked through the crowd and saw Kya.

"Master!" I shouted back above the commotion and jogged over.

She chuckled,"You're a Knight now. You don't need to call me Master anymore."

I laughed a little,"Whatever you say Mas- Kya."

She smiled,"That's been the most exciting day in a while," she remarked as we started walking to the Med Bay. Halls of Healing won't be able to do much for blaster bolt wounds.

"That's one way to put it," I replied as I peered over at the bled through wrap around my shoulder and felt where a blaster bolt grazed my head. It was almost as if I was checking to see if it was really real.

"You did good, Cira," Kya said with a genuine smile. I frowned,"Barely. I'm not going to last more than a few battles once the war escalates."

She chuckled slightly and then smiled a bit,"Everybody is thinking that, I can assure you. I know I am."

That made me feel a little relieved, and worried, but mostly relieved.

"Can I ask you something?" I asked as we neared the Med Bay with a huge line from all the survivors, like myself and Kya. She nodded.

"So, I want to take on an apprentice. I've gotten the go-ahead from the Council, but I don't know if I should bring one into this war. Should I wait?" I asked very unsurely.

She thought for a few seconds,"No. I guarantee all those Younglings will be eager to get involved. To fight for a cause. It's your job to guide them through it," she replied with her usual wisdom.

We were now at the doorway where medical droids were whisking people off for treatment.

"You sure have set a good example," I replied with a smile. She returned the smile and a medical droid directed her away.

"Stay safe, Cira," she said with a kind farewell smile.

I smiled sadly as well, knowing we wouldn't see much of each other, especially now.

"You too."

I poked at my two huge Bacta Patches, one on my busted up shoulder and the other on my forehead, as I followed the waves of anger and confusion cultivating from the Force. It led me to the Senate, of course. Pods flying around, inaudible shouting, and a clear division in the once united Republic. It didn't take words to know what the shouting was about. Worlds were leaving the Republic and waging war on each other.

One thing was clear in this state of utter discombobulation; it was going to take more than Bacta Patches to fix this.
