A Grim Reality

~Yula POV~
Everything was running relatively smoothly, only needing to eliminate a few rounds of Droids on our way to the metaphorical forks in the road. But traveling in a relatively large group was difficult. Plus, Rodians like Master Ell tend to be really tall and Jek's glowing, red eyes don't exactly pull attention away from us.

"Okay, everyone ready to split off?" Cira asked when the coast was clear. We were all awkwardly crouching down in the crevice of a dark, metallic, Droid reeking hallway where it split. One path led to the Main Computer, the other to the hangar bay and also lots of opportunities for capture. We knew the risks.

"Yep," I muttered as quietly as possible. Jek oddly looked excited to go do this. I mean don't get me wrong, this was exciting, but also insanely risky. We had zero backup. Just us, that's it.

"Okay, good luck. If something goes wrong, call us," Cira said with a proud, but just as nervous look.

I nodded to her defiantly and took the lead, Jek directly behind me and Key behind him. We were off to the hangar to steal our getaway ship.

This was planned to be as quick as possible. Get in, get info and a ship, then get out with said items in a matter of minutes. No more than 10. Wing was orbiting just outside their reach as we spoke, ready to gun down any dangers that may follow, or dock inside the Cruiser to help. He was our only support on the outside, and also our most important asset because of it.

As we were slowly and stealthily making our way through the hall way, I stuck my hand flat out behind me to signal a stop. The three of us pressed tightly against the wall and stopped, being still as possible. Jek and I also made sure our dark grey hoods were on.

"There's a massive group of Droids guarding the door, as we expected. We need to find some sort of computer we can hack into to disable that group," I said in a very low, quiet voice.

"Can't we just take them out?" Jek asked as if it was obvious.

"Do you want to get caught?" I asked sassily,"Too much noise."

"She's right, I think there's supposed to be one back down the hall," Key said," I remember a small dip in the wall. I believe it's made room for a computer outlet."

"Great work, Key. We need to head back down, I'll remember the hangar location. We'll need the info," I said as I peered over my shoulder to make sure we weren't been spotted yet. "Everyone move out."

When I gave the signal, we all started making our way back, pressed close to the wall and shuffling until we got far enough away to walk semi-normally.

"Okay, this is it. Give me the R2-Jack," Key said as he positioned himself by the computer outlet.

I handed him the prismatic, grey R2-Thing and he quickly fit it into place. Still haven't figured out the actual name of it.

"It's the unit by Hangar door 067. Get the ones inside as well," I directed.

Key pressed a few buttons, waiting for the R2-Thing to turn around and around, then took it out and handed it back to me,"Should be all set, Commander."

"Okay let's-" I was quickly cut off when I looked behind me to see Jek making his way back without us, way too quickly and way too ready for a confrontation. That would surely cost us more than the success of this mission.

"What is he doing?!" I whisper-screamed to myself as I quickly shuffled along the wall back over. With all the excitement I don't think he was expecting anyone to stop him, which played well to my hand.

I braced my feet and then stuck my hand out, as if to grab his arm, and used the Force to hold him still. That way he literally couldn't startle or yell in surprise.

"Key, go grab him before he gets us killed," I grunted between breathes as I struggled to keep using the Force in that way. I don't exactly get much practice like this.

Key rushed forward, quiet as a feather, and grabbed his arms. I let Jek go and went over to join them, breathing heavily from the effort.

"Jek, do not- and I meant do not ever do that again. That would've cost us a ship, and probably our lives." I said sternly,"Not to mention, I'm the Commander here."

His bright, red Chiss eyes widened and it seemed as every muscle in his body tensed up, probably due because I never get angry or raise my voice. But this was a life or death situation.

I looked past him to see the Droids lifelessly standing in the spots we'd left them in. Relief flooded over me since it seemed to be back on track,"Good work Key. I'll hack into the door. Be ready for anything," I warned as I quickly jumped over to the doorway. I used the R2-Thing to get inside the computer and open the door. Luckily it worked and we were allowed to walk right in, but we all had our hands on our weapons. Jek and I's blue fingers wrapped around our sabers. I was just praying it wouldn't come down to lightsabers, if it came down to something.

After a few incredibly nervous seconds, we realized there was no Droids in here that were operational, all were powered down.

"Coast looks clear, but be careful and quick. We need to keep clear of the cameras for as long as possible. Once we get to the ship," I pointed to a small cruiser just used for transporting officials,"Don't turn anything on, just board it. It could trigger something."

They both nodded and I gave the signal to start making our way over there. That is, until I heard the last thing I ever wanted to encounter.

Coughing.
Then a lightsaber igniting. But it wasn't Cira or Ray.

"Grievous."

~Cira POV~

Once Ray, Fitz, and I made it into the central computer room, it wasn't easy work getting rid of the droids. We were able to power down the standard Battle Droids that were on guard, but not the Destroyers or Assassin Droids.

Luckily, Ray is extremely calm and collected, always aware but just as thoughtful. He would do just fine with a squad of his own.

The nasty part was quick and painless as it was difficult. We almost ran out of High Voltage Bombs (silent but strong enough to disable a droid temporarily) before Fitz could get to the computer and disable the remaining droids that were only controllable by way of the Superior machine. From there, Fitz kept watch while Ray and I crouched down at the lower port of the massive, secret filled computer. We plugged in Data Card after Data Card, getting anything and everything we could get. Any information could help at some point.

Then suddenly, my stomach turned into a knot and every muscle in my body tensed up as I stumbled upon who was Commanding this Ship. Ray and I could hold our own against him, but never our brave Padawans.

You could call him the Jedi Killer. Or...

"Grievous."
