For those of you who don't know what happened, I will tell you. If this upsets you please don't read!

A series of coordinated occurred in and its northern suburb Saint-Denis, on November 13, 2015. The attackers killed 130 people, including 89 at the Bataclan Theatre, where they took hostages before engaging in a stand-off with police. 368 people were injured, 80–99 critically. Around 130 innocent dead.

Beginning at 9:20 PM, three suicide bombers struck near the Stade de France in Saint-Denis, followed by another suicide bombing and a series of mass shootings at five locations in Paris. ISIS claimed responsibility for the attacks and said the attack was an act of war by ISIL (commonly known as ISIS) planned in Syria, organised in Belgium, and perpetrated with French complicity. France had been involved in airstrikes on various ISIL targets in Iraq and Syria since October. ISIL carried out the attack in retaliation for in the French involvement in the Syrian Civil War and Iraqi Civil War.

In response, a state of emergency was declared, the first since the 2005 riots, and temporary border checks were introduced.People and organisations expressed solidarity with France, many through social media. On November 15, France launched the biggest airstrike of Opèration Chammal, its contribution to the anti-ISIL bombing campaign, striking ISIL targets in Al-Raqqah in retaliation for the attacks. On November 18, the suspected leader of the attacks, Abdelhamid Abaaoud, was killed in a police raid in Saint-Denis, along with at least two other people.
